I have been in this fly shop five or six times. I am mostly a DIY guy, so I come in to get get fly recommendations, buy flies, and get ideas on where the trout are biting. Great fly selection, nice selection of clothes, etc but what stands out is every time I have been in, folks have been super helpful. I got a short window to fish yesterday afternoon, and I called and got connected to Randy. Told him I was planning on fishing Boulder Canyon, we talk for awhile and he offered up an alternate idea that was a bit further drive but fishing was really good and fit what I wanted to do better. I then called back a few hours later after looking at google earth to get ideas of which way to work the stream and talked to Ron, and he was just as helpful. Long story short, caught 20 trout in about three hours from specific info gathering from chatting on the phone. This has become one of my favorite fly shops in the country just because the helpfulness culture. Highly recommended

The staff here is super friendly and welcoming. I don’t know fly fishing very well (Spinners all day for me) but really want to get into it. They’ve been super helpful getting me started, based on my budget, and have no ego about it. I won’t go elsewhere if I’m in boulder. Prices are also cheaper than others in the area for the same gear.

My family was in Colorado on vacation from North Dakota and we booked an afternoon of fishing with Rocky Mountain Anglers. Our kids had not fly fished before so this was a new experience. Brian was our guide and he was incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and cool! He spent a lot of time showing our kids how to cast, how to properly handle trout in a safe way for the fish, and how to pick spots. Brian seemed as excited about each bite as our kids! We really had a great afternoon, caught a ton of fish, and really appreciated Brian. Afterwards, we spent some time behind the shop taking off our waders, and laughing about fish caught and fish missed! We bought some cool RMA swag and everyone in the shop was cool. Well be back for sure!

Had a fantastic guided trip Tenkara fly fishing with Jalen. My wife and I were first time fly fishers and we caught 5 brown trout on a half day trip. Jalen was super knowledgeable and helpful in teaching us the ropes. Afterwards, he met us at the shop and he pointed out the flies we needed if we wanted to rig what we had used that day on our own. 10/10, well be back out with Jalen soon!

Favorite store in Boulder. They have helped me get INTO fishing. A number of their staff, including Allie have given me so much advice and counsel that I now catch fish on most trips. The owner runs a top notch business and surrounds himself with great people who all care about helping everyone enjoy angling whether it is a 30 year veteran or someone whos never fished before. They run tons of free fishing clinics, organize fly fishing trips all over Colorado, and have a huge selection of everything youd need. And if you like cool hats they have some of the coolest collections available. In short, if you fly fish, and are in Colorado, go here.

Great selection of equipment, including tying materials, here. Also, a guided trip with them has proved to be extremely beneficial. I rarely have those days when I cant catch a fish.
