This place is very nice. It does not look that big from outside of the gate but once you get past that you realize that it is very large. I love how they kept a lot of nostalgia from the original building and fused it with new elements. I was here mostly for dinner at Ruth Chris but wow if I had the time to look around a bit more I would definitely do that. I think its an area that should be an attraction whether you are a local or a tourist. Check this place out! It is great and it is at a great location in Boston as well.

The Old City Hall of Boston has been partially converted to a Ruths Chris Steakhouse. I cannot think of a worse thing to repurpose an old building as. There are views of the cemetery where Paul Revere is interned from the bar. It is clearly a place put here to suck in the tourists. And it worked. They got me. I was hungry and went right in. I could have found a local bar or something. But here is the Old Courthouse and a Chain Restaurant. No Bueno!

This was a beautiful building crafted in the days when people took pride there work. The design is just stunning and spacious. This building has been remodeled in side the space turned in to a steakhouse. I recommend a visit to anyone visiting the downtown area.

Welcome to Bostons Old City Hall! Home to the city’s first public school and thirty-eight Boston mayors, Old City Hall has a long and rich history. With over 83,000 square feet of first class office and retail space, Old City Hall is now a coveted location for some of Bostons leading professional firms.See more on Instagram @360Pan

The sixth stop on the Freedom Trail. Formerly the first city hall of Boston, it’s now just a rentable office space. All the same, it’s equally historic.

Our sixth stop during our Freedom Trail walking tour. Another good but short stop, mainly for pictures and history. The grounds were open but the building itself was closed when we visited during a public holiday. Why this place is significant -- 1) It used to house the Boston Latin School, the oldest public school in the US. 2) The school has some really famous alumni, including Benjamin Franklin and John Hancock.

The Old City Hall is a national landmark located on School Street. The present building was constructed between 1862 and 1865 in French Second Empire architectural style, one of the first such examples in America. This is nice to see as are some of the monuments in the courtyard in front of the building.First, this is the sight of Americas first public school, the Boston Latin School between 1704 and 1748. If interested you can see a nice mosaic plaque along the School Street footpath in front of the Old City Hall. One of the schools first students, Benjamin Franklin is recognised with a monument here as well. There is fellow statue to Bostons second Mayor Josiah Quincy that is worth seeing as is the bronze donkey seen here. Created by Florentine sculptor Antonio Frilli. This is the symbol of the Democratic political party in the United States.Note: The Old City Hall is located between Kings Chapel and the Old Corner Book Store. It is worth stopping for 5-10 minutes to enjoy the building architecture and the monuments on site. Then you can proceed to the next round of Freedom Trail sightseeing.

The Old City Hall kept a nice appearance and even withstanding the toughness of times. Built over Bostons first public school premise, it now thrones in its place as well as a statue of Josiah Quincy, a mayor in the 19th century. It can be visited as a historical landmark.

Visiting Boston is a delight. The red line tour is an excellent way for tourists to get to know history on their own.Throughout the pavement, a brick line allows visitors to follow a map that guides -self-guided- tours of important historical buildings / monuments. Here we found the Democratic symbol, the donkey and the explanation of the difference between it and the Republican, the elephant.Dont miss the opportunity to visit Boston, follow the red line tour and learn about a City filled with history. The building at Bostons Old City Hall is exquisite.
