Definitely one of the coolest venues Ive been to a show at. The acoustics are perfect; I could hear every word and every instrument that was being played. I absolutely love how they havent done any major renovation to the inside. I imagine that how it looks now is how it looked since around the 70s and that is totally a good thing. The art on the ceiling and walls is also very appealing. 100% recommend seeing a show or concert here.

The Orpheum is the grand old dame of Boston theaters, her age shows. Seats are small, little legroom. The staff is wonderful and was accommodating in finding alternate seating, so ask if you are tall.Great sight lines and sound. The concert by Bill Murray was wonderful. Seeing a living icon, simply amazing.

The Orpheum venue was a major disappointment. The balcony seats are made to fit children only. $15 Beers! The place needs a major renovation. The only savior was the staff. They were incredible especially Celeste who gave us passes to stand on the first level.

This theater is beautiful, so glad I went. I will say, tall people beware, it was clearly built a long time ago because there is very little leg room but dont let it deter you from checking out a show here!

Cute little theater! There can be a MASSIVE line getting in so leave enough time to get to your seat if you want to see the start of your show. Seats are kind of old and uncomfortable so something to think about if you have back problems.

The show was great, the venue was lousy. Its in the cut. The venue is in need of a good deep cleaning. Really why it gets a 3 rating is the space. I dont want to be thinking of how Im getting indentations on my legs during a show. It was actually painful. I am only 59 and there were many men taller than I am and I cant imagine how uncomfortable they were.

Beautiful theater! Easily the most friendly staff Ive encountered at a concert, and also the most organized. The location is perfect, as a lot of concert venues in Boston dont have much room outside room for waiting, but this one has plenty since it sits back off from the street quite a bit and is in its own little alcove. Will definitely be back again!

This theater has excellent sound, saw Steely Dan here recently and last night was Styx. Excellent concert, staff was incredible. Only gripe I have sitting in the fifth row was the size of the seats and the legroom. Didnt much matter because were standing up for the whole concert anyways. just be aware if youre a tall guy like me, 6 3, hope that you have somebody small next to you.

Great acoustics and super friendly staff. Facility is dated and could use some updating but considering you got there for concerts not really much of a negative. Will definitely be on the lookout for other shows here in the future.

Orpheum Theatre has a great ambiance, a great vibe and a great energy. The building almost cultivates an energy in anticipation of performance and it carries through to the final curtain. However the seating is absolutely dreadful. Seats are quite low and not very wide. If youre above average height, your knees will be pressed against the seat in front of you for the duration of the show. At the concert I attended most people got around this by standing up, myself included, which is fine but also not ideal. However, if your favorite band is in town dont skip seeing them! Youll have a great time nonetheless.

Im sure theyre very good to all of their guests but please believe me when I tell you that they give extra love to those of us with disabilities, special needs etc.I was there on the evening of October 29th for a Steely Dan show and I was very well taken care of when I arrived to be seated. They treated me like I was the only one in the place.Big ^ups^ to Celeste for making sure I had a seat that was a great vantage point from which to see what turned out to be a fantastic show.

This theater is pretty bad. The seats are very small and cramped, even for a 54 person. Its nearly impossible to find your seat without an usher, so the ushers are constantly running around and pushing through with their flashlights on. There are a lot of different bars in the venue and the sound was good, but I would only come back if it was for a band I really like

Located on an easy to miss side street right off of Tremont St the Orpheum is centrally located to all the main attractions. Shopping, Boston Common, The Freedom Trail and Beacon Hill are all well within comfortable walking distance for anybody. The theatre itself isnt much to talk about. Its a gathering place for concerts and such and thats about it. While ornate, the inside is in great need of an all over polishing. Dont get me wrong, its not dirty its just old and unkempt. A little facelift and this place would be beautiful. The bathrooms ARE clean. The seating is more than cramped. Theres less room than in economy class on the cheapest flight. Youre bound to rub elbows with any and everyone around you and Im 100% sure your @ss will be quite sore if you have to sit for more than 1.5 hours (we had a 3 hour concert...ugh!) So if you are going to see a show bring a cushion. Our concert (Dream Theatre) let out around 10:30-11:00p and the area was well lit and not once did we feel unsafe so thats a plus too.

Was very hot in there- I was a sweaty mess and so were some of the employees. Thats probably why the chairs look faded. Noticed everyone was using their show programs as fans. Balcony seats were very tight- I am 62 and was lucky enough to not having people occupying neighboring seats so I could give myself more room. Also food/beverages were expensive. I noticed $6 for a slice of pizza, and $14 for cans of beer. Will pass on performances held at this place in the future.

This is a great place for Boston to have shows I have seen a lot of comedians perform here it is a great venue very cool looking it is just hard to get to it is in the heart of the Theater District so parking is a little bit tricky and it is right on Boston Commons a great area in the summer a tricky area in the winter because you have to walk far to find your car but its definitely worth the night out another problem is the rush to the restroom during intermission the line it is unbelievable but I guess its going to be like that anywhere I still really like this place

The Orpheum Theater is a shell of its former glory, as one of the oldest theaters in the US. It is in serious need of some renovation and TLC. My SO and I came here to see Moscow Ballets touring Great Russian Nutcracker performance earlier this month. The location is very convenient just steps away from the Park St. T station and getting inside to pick up tickets from will call was a breeze. The inside was unfortunately extremely underwhelming as the dim lights illuminated some of the food concession. On the plus side they actually had pizza and other food items unlike the Wang Theater that had these pitiful pretzels. (Probably because its connected with the Corner Mall concessions.)Theres 2 levels of seating, we were at the main level and I saw several people were in the balcony. The chairs themselves were very low to the ground and in every aspect show signs that they were from another era. Acoustically the theater was suitable for the ballet, the performance music was pre-recorded so we didnt see a live orchestra. (We sat almost center in the first cluster of seats.) I think it serves its purpose for the current performances here, but its definitely not the dazzling interior youd expect from the Boston Opera house or the Wang Theater. Its a shame that they havent upkeep the theater for all of the rich history that it holds. It has the potential to be a great theater again.

This place is torture for watching any show. I only go to shows here that are really important to me. And where I dont foresee another opportunity to catch the show else where. There is no air movement, and the temperature is always unbearable. The seats are extremely tiny with no place to put your legs, so you may as well just leave them home. There are weird protrusions under many seats so youre liable to fall awkwardly. The stairs are steep and extremely dangerous to life. The seat numbers are super confusing. You may feel brutalized leaving.

The Orpheum is incredibly antiquated and in need of renovation. Seats are from 1905 so they are very tiny. Complaints could be heard about the seating from virtually ever patron that came in. Many of the box seats have been replaced by folding chairs. The positives are that the acoustics are decent and it is large but still maintains something of an intimate feel. The staff are also extremely helpful and friendly.I would not attend another concert here.

All the staff were great and there were no service issues, just really not pleased with the seating and temperature.
