Can not express enough how beautiful the Boston Opera House is! Only thing, the seats are Very close and small! The staff is wonderful. Be advised, it has high security. Metal detectors which makes us all safe. Prices of drinks are expensive. Water is 5 dollars, a glass of wine 15 dollars, 17 for a mixed drink. Plenty of bathrooms, a elevator for handicap as well. Lots of restaurants available in walking distance. No street parking but garages available. The sound and lighting, impeccable! Treat yourself, go and enjoy a show or concert!

The French Quarter was an amazing dining experience. Sabad the bartender was very engaging and professional. He was quite knowledgeable and I allowed him to guide my entire evening dining experience and he did so with such aplomb! His recommendations were spot on.Each drink he reccomend and created for me was well executed and balanced. Ryan the server was also very professional. In fact everyone I encountered throughout the evening were friendly and professional. The drinks were sublime and the food was truly NOLA inspired and managed to carry the heart of New Orleans in its southern flavors with subtlety and boldness in its presentation. The French Quarter restaurant captures the spirit of New Orleans so wonderfully on your palate, as you close your eyes and the music drifts so subtle throughout the room taking you back to the excitement of jazz, drinks and good good eatn we all know the world over to be in the FRENCH QUARTER!! Went to watch The Lion King. Loved every bit of it. The intricate design of the century-old opera house impressed us. However, the reason for 3 stars are only the poor quality old, dirty, dusty and super congested seats. It was totally unexpected as every one paid a good amount of money to be there but the seats are a total disappointment. It was super crammed. The dust on the chairs caused me itching everywhere as I’m allergic to dust and it only happens when I sit on dusty floors. People around us were also complaining about the chairs. I’d have loved to visit again for another show but I ll give it a second thought as it’s really mot worth it for the seats! Please Boston Opera House, fix the seats. I’m sure I along with many people would love to visit more often.

I have been here MANY times but most recently to see “Hello, Dolly!” The Opera House is a beautiful theatre and pretty easy to get to with multiple parking garages nearby alone with T stops. They recently started delivery of snacks and concessions to your seat and though I didn’t use the service it would be a great way to avoid lines, especially when bringing kids to the theatre. The seats are also very comfortable even for the longer classic shows! The staff is very friendly and courteous also! All in all I have had many great experiences there!

It was my first time seeing the nutcracker and the first time I set foot in the Boston Opera House, and sure enough it did not disappoint. Just walking into the theater room you are greeted by a picturesque view of architectural wonderment. The design of the building was without a doubt painstakingly wrought to fruition with no ounce of detail left unchecked or unnoticed. From the balcony to the seats to the stage itself you are witnessing a true work of art that is a site to behold. Whats even better is that description I just presented is just the theater itself, the play itself was altogether the cherry on top to an already enlightening experience. Ive heard of how good the nutcracker is but until you actually view it for yourself, you really have no idea how magical it is. At least for my experience I felt they put out all the stops. Charming, witty, spectacular. Each performance a delightful nod to the other while also throwing in a brand of humor from a bubbly bear that had you splitting your side with laughter. At the end of it all you were elated to see the conclusion of such a magnificent performance and yet a bit sorrowful that it was over. No wonder families make it an annual tradition. To anyone that even considers it, dont think too long, just go and live and experience you will never forget and hopefully never regret

Great restoration on a classic theater. This place isnt large so even the balcony seats view isnt bad. There are a lot very steep steps to get up there. They have a couple bars where you can purchase liquor, wine and beer before and during the show. Before the show starts they have wait staff wandering around who can take your order from your seat. Just be warned the drinks arent sold at discount prices. They have a gift shop too. Saw the Nutcracker there and it was excellent. You can park in the Lafayette garage which is a block away. Will cost about $20. Beware the garage elevators were not working at the time and we had to take the stairs. Hopefully theyll fix that. The T has a stop close by. Beautiful place to see theater.

Me and a friend were supposed to see the Mean Girls Musical in January. It was a Christmas gift from my parents. Me and a friend had dinner reservations before the show at Maggianos. We got off the train and were walking to the restaurant. My friend tripped and fell on her face and lost consciencness. Called 911 and we ended up spending the night at Tufts Medical Center Hospital. She broke her cheekbone and got a concussion. We never made it to dinner or the show. Both me and my friends mother contacted Boston Opera House in hopes of either getting a refund or allowing us to see another showing. They refused. Given the circumstances, they should have let us see another showing or a different show. I wont be giving them any more business.

Went to the Sunday Matinee to see The Lion King which was Great! Puppetry was amazing the Actors were wonderful. Saw it 16 years ago for the first time, We liked it on a bigger stage better because of more animals. That being said we were disappointed in our seats. We paid $415 for two seats, row A, in the Mezzanine. We were seated on folding chairs, in front of the first row in the Mezzanine to the right facing the stage, in the isle, where patrons congregated to talk to the ushers to find thier seats....well into the show. My husband politely spoke to the usherette, during intermission to inquire of our seating, she told him to Just sit down! , not bothering to check our tickets. I believe the seating was misrepresented when ordering through Citizen Bank,...... an isle seat... on a folding chair... is not a $200.00 + seat, in the Mezzanine.

The opera house is deliciously beautiful. The staff impeccably kind and helpful. The Boston Ballets Nutcracker was worth seeing every year (a tradition with us). Beware if you have mobility issues, no railings within the theater and the stairs will be a challenge. Id give them four stars except this: SHAME on the management for degrading both the venue and the performance by hawking food and drink to carry into the theater. CHEAPENS the entire experience. I was disgusted not only was food permitted, but it was sold like a cheap movie venue both in the lobby and with peddlers within the theater itself. So sorry to see that extra commercialism and the dumbing down of the theater experience by having munchies in the seat next to me. Whats next? Onstage commercials?
