Just two courts under a bridge, but they are nice and flat (almost) with the right fine gravel texture for petanque or bocce - a rarity in the Boston area. In a beautiful park with great city views and well lit at night. Also free and open to anyone.

Good location for pétanque. For reference, Im used to playing in open areas (e.g., Boston Common) where the sun obscures your vision as youre about to throw your boules. The overhead bridge has been a great opportunity to show off my true talent. I was thinking about giving this place a 4/5 star rating because of the geese that wander onto our terrain, but theyre actually pretty friendly (must be used to human contact?). I might try to recruit them in the upcoming months to play on my team.

Very few places in the world offer the three most important aspects needed for pétanque, first the ground must be clear of all large debris, second the wind must always be from the north west, finally a majority of the pitch must be under a free standing bridge. This boulodrome has one of three.
