This is our second time ice skating here.Pro - Free entry for active military personnel plus one other person, a cute little pond to ice skake in, they offer blue seals for an additional $15 to put your child on it and skate the child aroundCon - overpriced, not enough benches for people to rest on

My son loves this place in the winter is ice skating in the summer is a wading pool. Then theres the very busy park across from it. It is usually busy especially in the summer so you definitely have to keep a close eye on the children. Between strangers from all over and the hustle n bustle if downtown along with a bunch of kids swimming and running it could be scary if you dont watch good. Theres also a merry go round. It has a changing room/bathroom in winter they rent out ice skates.

This place is always packed during events. It’s a nice place to sit a watch people in the summer and in the winter. In the summer the pond is open and there are sprinklers. I see lots of kids come here to play in ankle deep water. Not sure how sanitary it is but I guess it’s pretty clean because I have never heard of them closing it down due to illnesses. Sometimes it is closed and flushed. So maybe that helps. But also maybe it can be a way to boost your kids’ immune systems if they don’t get terribly sick from the water. The ice skating is nice in the winter. But like I said, it is always packed. Come here early to rent some skates or bing your own. But come early so you don’t have to wait in the mile long line. For others, bring a date and either ice cream or hot chocolate to watch people and chat. Great way to get to know each other by how they perceive others.

I love going to Frog Pond every single summer with my son. We take the train in from the south shore and spend the whole day there. We play at the splash pond, feed the birds, ducks and squirrels and then we get a delicious slice of pizza from across the street. Best pizza weve ever had and they give you an enormous slice for the price. We love getting away from the suburbs and spending the day away in the city. We always have the best time when we visit Boston Common. Its so beautiful, scenic snd we carry many.memories with us every single summer!

In the winter, its an ice skating rink that you can bring you and your date or your family to enjoy some fun times on the ice! In the seasons without snow and ice, the pond is transformed into a pseudo skating area where you can go and enjoy the nice weather on the park side. Definitely a nice area to set up some picnic blankets and enjoy a summer day.

My girls 11 and 5 had a blast a long with my other half and I. I do wish though the seals (for ice skaters that arent experienced) were monitored and readily available for the small children like my youngest daughter who had NEVER skated before this to have been able to use it versus the older children who didnt actually need it but wanted it! But overal it was an awesome time!

They have awesome events here all year long: jack-o-lantern float for Halloween, tree lighting around Christmas, and skating all winter. Its really a fantastic spot. There is a sweet playground right next to it, and so many cool things are within a couple minutes walking: food trucks, sledding up at the monument, events at the common, shopping on Newbury street, the theatre district, historic Beacon Hill, and the flower garden & swan boats, to name a few. They have skate rentals, if you need them, and theres a carousel right next to it, most of the year.
