This lake is probably the best lake to swim. It is close to us and it is warm when you get used to the water. Overall, the water was clear and mostly no dogs swimming. In the end of the August the season of swimming ends and there are few people who are willing to swim. It has nice Islands with rich and big houses on the other side of the lake bank.

We love this park. There is a sandy beach where the little ones can walk right in or you climb down the nice concrete steps into the water. In the summer the water is great! There is a side in full sun and a side with ample shade. Wherever you are it is bound to be a good spot.

Lovely place for picnic. Lots of people around , maintaining social distancing. Parking is restricted and paid($7 for a car). Its a bit tricky to get free parking though. Toilet is open and maintained.

Beautiful lake. Just hate that it was crowded and there was literally no where to walk around unless it was walking next to another family. Also a $7 fee to PARK inside the parking lot. If you wanted to park outside, it would be a long walk to actually find a place to swim. Other than that, definitely a famous place to hang out and nowhere to sit. Im not a fan of it.

Its a great place. Slightly over crowded. 6ft of distance within large groups, families and/or parties was non-existent. But, each group, family and/or party had good distance between themselves. Water was surprisingly luke warm, we expected it to be much colder. I do hate when the large speed boats come so close and (intentionally)Rev-Up their engines to create such irritating, obnoxious, scary lloud engine noise. That happened quite often. Im sure many kids were frightened. Yall know who you are. Its not cool, stop it! Its so rude!

I liked this park. It is very nice. But last time we used the boat launch there we went out for some evening fishing. When we came back at 845 our truck/trailer and my friends car were gone. The park closes at 8 and we didn’t know that. They did have the hours on a sign but there is 20 other signs in the area and it is hard to read them all when you are trying to focus on launching your boat. Anyway, our vehicles were towed and they locked us in at the front gate.I get that the park has hours they have to Abide by but that seemed pretty harsh. Especially for a public park.It would have been a lot nicer to have a lock out fee instead. The tow cost was $890.

It clean and nice. My only issue was the parking. There was plenty of room to park on both sides of the road leading to the park but the cops blocked it off. Everyone had to hike about 1/2 mile up to the park. Ridiculous if you ask me !

This was a safe, park area was clean, family friendly place to swim on an extremely warm day. The customer service at the gate was great and I felt like the security that was in place was just enough. I didnt see restrooms or trash cans but it might have just been the the area we were sitting.

We were here to catch a glimpse of Mt. Rainer. It was a clear sunny day, but not sufficienly clear for catching a glimpse of Rainer behind the mountain range. Grassy park, with 4 ramps that can be used for boating. But road to the ramps was closed. I guess this is not boating season. Around 10 picnic benches. Plenty of garbage bins, place to wash water activity accessories.

Review №34

The lake and park is awesome the only thing keeping this from 5 stars is that they have so much more space around the park to add parking spots and for some reason they dont which causes massive traffic at the entrance because there is a limited amount of space inside, so be prepared crawl in your vehicle for an hr or more waiting to get in if you come past noon.

Always have a great time here. Plenty of beach space, even when busy, parking can be a problem on major holidays. Dog friendly, just keep them leashed. Amazing views of Mt. Rainer. It can get really wavy in the afternoon so kayaking in the early morning is best. Fishing-small and large mouth bass, carp, catfish, trout(I have only seen this year), perch, blue gill, and tiger muskie.

Fun park to visit. Costs money to park your vehicle inside the park. Youll walk about 600 yards to the park if you want to park for free. Fun place to swim. Small little sandy beach area for the little ones to play in. Can launch your boats and water sports. Plenty of places to layout in the sun or play frizz-bee in the grass. Plenty of swimming in a roped off area keeping boats out. Mid summer the water is warm. Charcoal barbecue pits around if your into cooking up some hamburgers. They have rest rooms also. During a hot summer day the park gets really busy and the water can get a little choppy from all the boat traffic. All in all, its a really fun place to visit.

The lake is okay didn’t catch any fish, my hooks kept getting stuck on the stumps/rocks below. However first day of visiting the park I did not see the signs upon entering so I fishies untill 4:15 came back to my car missing and the gates closed and locked. After jumping the fence I saw the sign saying it closes at 4pm and any cars left inside would be towed. Never came back after that ruined the whole experience for me . And that’s the only reason I’m putting two stars

Looks like at least on weekends the park is not run by the parks people, but by a rather aggressive local Sheriff Deputy, who apparently hates every minute of it. At 7:30 pm a maintenance crew person told us the park was closing, so we started packing - 4 families as a group with kids and inflatables and tables and chairs and a tent. At 7:45 pm the Sheriff started driving around the lots with lights on shouting through speaker that whoever does not leave in 15 minutes is looking at a 250$ fine - this will be a very expensive stay at the park he shouted. At 7:55 pm he drove past my car as I was loading up the trunk and shouted did you have a nice time with your family? I have not seen my kids in 18 hours, have your registration ready at the gates. He was so angry he mixed up id with registration! And it was not even 8 pm. So I sent my wife and kid in the car out at 7:59 pm and stayed another 5 minutes to help friends take the tent down, as it was the last item we needed to pack. At 8:10 as the three of us were walking out carrying just the tent - as we sent everyone else out and they were parked on the other side of already closed gates - the Deputy stopped us and said that he is fining us each 250$ for trespassing. He never introduced himself and was visibly angry - his lips were shaking even as he was shouting. He asked me for my id and I said that I did not have it on me, so he shouted how would you like to go to jail so we could identify you and thats in front of my 8 year old who was standing on the other side of the gates. Nice! So he very rudely asked for all my contact information and wrote it down in a notebook saying to expect a 250$ fine in the mail soon. Even his partner was scared of him, as the partner was trying to say something, but would stop immediately as soon as the Deputy raised his hand. I wish I had a phone on me to record the interaction!

I gave this place four stars. If I was to drive there and pay a huge fee that I never had to pay before, this is a three-star place. Not sure what the county and state is doing with all our money, but this place seems to take advantage of the location, and the amount of money people willing to pay to come here to see each other. This is a five-star location if you arrive by boat. Its very convenient and you can use the facilities. This is why I give it a four star rating overall. I I really should give this a 3-star rating basically due to the enormous fees that people are paying to get in here. I would make Match Into the proper channels that theyre charging too much but Im sure that probably keeps the population control down by charging larger amounts of money since this is a hotspot. I get it, but still people shouldnt have to pay that much money.
