The Washington Midsummer Renaissance Faire at Bonney Lake is a great event for the whole family as well as just interested adults. They have an busy game variety of shops catering to everyone from casual enthusiasts to a hardcore hobbyist, stage performances to provide entertainment and great laughs, as well as amazing food and stuff for the littles to do.Each weekend has a theme and youll find people in all varieties of garb and levels of costume as well as casual everyday wear. All of the staff are super friendly and great fun to be around and they all seem to be genuinely enjoying their jobs. It can get a bit pricey if youre going for the higher end items but they also have fun, well made items for low budget people.Day tickets are 20 for adults but weekend passes are at discount, as well as whole month passes. They do camping over each weekend and buying the whole kit (camping and entry) at once is a great deal. And parking for the day is free if youre not camping!

I always enjoy the jousting, the food and root beer, and all the costumes! Sword play, archery, ax throwing is great. You can buy any and all medieval clothes and accessories. Hair braiding was awesome! (Some of the men were getting their beards braided!) Some of the other shows they have there are also comedic and fun to watch (some so-so, it just depends).

The faire itself was pretty decent, not too huge but not super tiny, either. Their selection of vendors and activities was alright - It was full of local artisans, which I loved to see. However, the prices for everything was staggering. I showed up with $100+ spending money, thinking I could get water, lunch, and a few souvenirs. But when theyre charging $75 for a leg bag, $95 for a mask, and $120 for a small brooch, its pretty clear that youre not going to go home with too much. Admission is pretty high too, considering nothing is free or cheap once you get in. I dont want it to seem like Im not supporting those who make their living off this kind of work - I very much do. I just feel like they excluded entire sets of economic classes by making things so expensive they couldnt attend. Otherwise, was pretty standard renfaire stuff. Might go again next year, if I have extra money.

I came here for a wedding. I know this isnt a typical place to have a wedding but my friend isnt a traditional type person. Hes been a great friend so I go not sure what to expect. Ive never been to a renaissance faire before & I dont normally attend these types of events but it was actually quite fun. I saw more strange costumes than Ive ever seen before in my life. I had my face painted & picked up some incense. It was all really entertaining & didnt cost much. There was some acting before the gate opened which included a sword fight. Parking was free but fills up fast. There is handicapped parking but that also fills fast. Staff is extremely helpful & friendly. Its an experience I wont soon forget.

Lots of fun the prices were a often a bit absurd but many of the vendors were very keen to haggle down a bit on things to get a more realistic or reasonable range just a bit annoying to have to do at 90% of the vendors. However it did make for a more authentic experience. I walked in to one booth that had some really nice soaps for 30$ I was able to haggle them down to 7$ and they are nice hand made soaps that you wont find at a department store so the chit chat was worth it.

Fun place, but really needs to expand. Its pretty small compared to some of the other fairs out there, and while their selection of shows is good they need more shops and wandering performers for immersion. Folks tend to cram themselves into shops which can make for crowding. Information booth is great, and helped my GF find her wallet.

A bit pricey to get in (20$/person) but well worth it, there were a plethora of entertaining activities from jousting, plays, and sword fighting lessons. The Washington Midsummer Renaissance Fair is a great time. It’s a collection of unique vendors, delicious food, wandering actors, and staged performances. Many people arrive in costume, so if you enjoy dressing up this is a good place to do so. If not, you’ll still have plenty to do with watching shows such as plays, live music and dancing, and comedies. Or looking through the handmade leather goods, pottery, clothing, etc. There are also activities such as jousting and archery. Had some fun at the adventurers league game of dnd that was offered. The turkey legs are cool, but 14$ is a bit overpriced. Lots of booths to see, but nothing amazing, everything is very overpriced. The only reason Im giving four stars is because of the dnd and the jousting matches. Oh, and be careful when buying tickets, there was 4 of us and we paid 3 different prices. If youre a student whos under 18, dont get the student ticket, say, Im under 18, for some reason a student ticket it 15$, while and under 18 is only 13$. They dont check for id either, so make sure to say youre under 18 if you are, I had a friend pay 19$ because he was to shy to say he was under 18.

Whether you go for a few hours or camp over the weekends, the Washington Midsummer Renaissance Faire is a great place to go and let your hair down every year for the first 3 weekends of August. The staff & vendors are friendly. The after hours parties are fun for adults. A lot of the visitors dress up in costumes and let loose their inner child and reconnect with times long ago. Each weekend has a different theme. Check them out on their website and see which weekend you want to go or go for all 3. My favorite one is the Faeries and Dragons weekend

The fair was fun for such a small size with several enjoyable shows. Food was pretty good but expensive (but then when is fair food ever cheap). My biggest complaint there is there was no warning anywhere that 98% of the food is cash only making the longest lines in the whole park at the ATM machines with huge fees. However the primary reason for the low score is for the camping.According to their web site the weekend camping fee is separate from the tickets into the fair. No problem. All renn fairs that offer camping is the same. We planned on spending both nights camping, buy tickets into the fair on Saturday and leave early Sunday. However when we got there we were told that we had to buy both the camping pass AND the full weekend fair passes per person in order to camp, more than doubling what we expected to pay. Then they packed us RVers in like sardines (my open door almost touched my neighbors open door) while 2 campers behind us were allowed to stake out an area 2-3xs bigger than the largest class A RV for their 3 large tents, 2 larger canopies, 1 bath stall canvas home. And just forget about the camps posted quiet hours. The loud reveries went on well past 2AM without single group being told to shut it down. Now, I totally get that it was a holiday atmosphere, but why post regulations claiming the comfort of all campers if you arent going to enforce it? Sorry Washington Midsomer Renaissance Fair. You need to get a better control of your campground.

I love going to the Renn Fair! This is my secound year going, each time Ive camped and thats really the way to experience the Renn Fair. You might have a rough time sleeping if you have an early bed time, because after 10pm is when the party starts. All of the food is excellent! Whether you order a turkey leg, a meat pie, or a modern corndog! If youre over the age of 21 and never had mead before, your in for a treat. Just make sure you order your mead early enough, because they do run out. But there are multiple beer gardens so theres more than one option. The shows are great! Muscial performers everywhere you look. Stages full of solo performers, dancers, singers, and improv comedians. You can watch knights swordfight or joust! Or if youd rather be the fighter, you can always sign up for ax throwing or archery. So much to do, and THREE weekends in which to do it! So travel back in time, the safe way, through historical reenactments and fantastical exploration!

We always have a wonderful time there. There is a good mix of merchants, entertainment, activities and food choices that stick to the medieval theme. The beer and alcohol were VERY high priced at $8 for a Styrofoam size cup and no food was available in the drinking area.Parking is free and well choreographed, but expect to walk FAR! Unless you are disabled. Disabled parking is gravel and dirt, this makes it difficult for walkers and wheelchairs.Overall there is plenty of fun to be had thats worth the ticket price.

Great fun, and camping is a must!Firet of all, do not let the theme weekends shy you away. Yes, they are the themes for the weekend, but there is nothing wrong with not actively participating in them. Along the same lines, though dressing in garb is a very fun experience, do not feel obligated to do so (though be careful of your garbed friends having you arrested for it). This place is amazing. A few years ago we went for a day trip. We had such a good time that a year ago we decided to camp for one weekend. Camping there was so much fun we are making it a yearly tradition to camp all three weekends. If youre reading this next year, feel free to come say high at the camp with the AinE banner. There are so many fun activities to do at Merriwick. You could easily spend an entire day just walking around the stalls and looking at vendors wares. One side of town has a tournament ground where (this year) they hold a noon tournament and a 5pm joust, as well as other events through the day. All through the town of Merriwick there are stages set up where you can sit and enjoy various stage performances. Some other activities include a boffer arena, archery, and axe throwing. There is also an area set up with things for kids to do, though some vendors have their own kids activities as well. The town also has 3 bars now. We have actually been so busy with everything else that we havent made it in to one of them yet, but there are some after hours events that take place within the bar areas. The years we have been, food has been pretty consistent. Turkey legs are of course a staple. However one of our choice discoveries that we go back for every year is the Greek pizza. The pizza place dies have more standard pizzas but we highly recommend the Greek. Other food we recommend are the meat pies and the corn dogs, and be prepared to have options at the corn dogs vendor!Lastly, if this feels like the kind of place and people you can enjoy yourself with for the weekend, we highly recommend camping. Everyone we have run into at camp has been super nice. Camp is a great place to share food, stories, and drinks. You can meet all sorts of people who have at least one thing on common with you if they are willing to camp for a weekend at a renniasance faire. If you see our flag flying, come say hi :)
