This place has authentic and delicious Caribbean/Latin bites, if you’ve never traveled to the Dominican Republic or gotten the chance to taste the food, then this is the spot. They had other Latin dishes that co-workers ordered that looked great too. I made sure to order several dishes in order to taste the level of authentic flavor, and wound up with lunch leftovers for the week. I’m not a food critic, but I love to eat and this place didn’t disappoint. The only negative from my visit was that I was there for early dinner and didn’t get to stick around for the dance music that started playing. It reminded me of the music they play at the resorts. In punta cana. I don’t remember my waiters name, but she was was awesome, they brought over an after dinner shot for our group and although we were Uber full, it was a nice gesture. For the owner to come over and make sure we were all doing ok felt over the top until we realized it was out of kindness and not concern. Cant wait to start traveling to our offices in SD to go back!! This time we will stay for the dancing and take the owner up on his offer a “ a great night of dancing after dinner”. I would like to recommend La Luz ultra lounge Restaurant Bar we loved making our Posada Navideña there is too much space for our annual company event , a very good friendly service, good music and even the food was delicious I personally highly recommend it.

Wow, this was a wonderful night. . I had such a great time. This was my 1st night out, here in this great city of San Diego. The wait staff provided great service. The drinks are reasonably priced and well made. The music was on point, so thumbs up to the DJ. This is a Great place for food and drinks and to hang out with friends.

The food is consistently well prepared and delicious, workers gives good service. I really like the cleanliness and atmosphere. Would recommend to others.

Every Wednesday & every Saturday this place provides free latin dance classes @ 8:30pm. Its a good spot that the local latin crowd all know about, a hidden secret. Their food is awesome, especially the empeñadas & their media noche. The parking is free and the drinks are inexpensive.

Omg so much fun! Cynthia the bartender was outstanding and so friendly! Loved her so much. Will definetly come back for more dancing and Patrón in the future! Food is also not bad for a bar, empanadas are delicious by the way with that special sauce they use and the prices are so reasonable! 10/10!

Are you kidding me? What a rip off this place is. Have you ever had a1 ounce martini poured into a 6 oz. Martini glass? You have here. $8 domestic beers. Watered down liquor, ABC will be called. This place has ego because of Bar Rescue, Ive been doing restuarant consulting for 20 years. This is a massive fail.

I used to like this place but they are out of hand with the prices. First you have to pay to get in the door. Then you have to pay to sit at a table. And they call it VIP. To sit at a simple diner table with cramed seating. Then when you buy the table for $300 thats the cheapest. You would think you would be able to pick a decent bottle of what you want. No they give you 1 buccanas bottle eww. The thing that bothered me the most is that you only get 1 pitcher of water. After that you pay top dollar for more water. For $300 you better keep the water flowing buddy. Your not in the gaslamp with these crazy prices.

La Luz is the place to head to for bachata on Sat nights! 2 dance floors and also the ambiance is constantly terrific!

The worse place to dance in San Diego. One old and antiquated area separated by a partial wall and two different sounds mixing. Enough to drive you nuts!

This spot has two dance floors wich help and they play good music on both sides, what I like most is it dont get too crowded.

Definitely has come a long way from when I found it in 2012. Saturdays are jumping. Good music on both sides eventhough they play Spanish rock for a bit its tolerable. Salsa and bachata is of the hook!! Great mature crowd!

There are 2 dance floors one is great it has bachata salsa merengue . People on that side dances very well . But the ones that are not great dancers have to settle with too much reggaeton! Its ridiculous!!!!

Nice venue, good music, friendly staff, security always prompt.I used to come here a lot since this is one of the few spots that are 18 and up on thursdays, the crow is always good, the girls are very beautiful.

It gets pretty busy but ita a good place to go.

Friday and Saturday nights, this place is totally Ghetto (with a capital G). Skanks, fog, crappy music and a rude skinny DJ that acts like a clown :)The sad part is that you still need to pay the cover charge!If you are in the area you better of driving up to San Diego downtown.

The door girl is rude and acted like she hated her job. Not a good impression when I went. I like gaslamp or vegas clubs better.

So...do you feel like hitting a latin spot that has decent music, occasional bands, two dance floors (hip hop/latin), free food buffet, cheap drinks, partners to dance with, and has a parking lot with the occasional MMA fight....then Caribe is the spot for you.Oh and get this, you can actually pay the cover charge with a credit charge, so if you live paycheck to paycheck just charge it and worry about it another day.

Really bad security very unsafe place and very expensive they charge 20 entrance I would rather go to downtown for that price
