I did not go there today. I have been there on several occasions and to see the simple elegance in which Mr. Sam lived is revealing. It is also fun to see his Cadillac which was purchased by so many well-wishers. As long as you are seeing where Mr. Sam lived, take a bit more time and see the magnificent Sam Rayburn Library. Its all right here in Bonham, Texas. We welcome you.
Great site to visit. Took my mom and she loved it too. So much stuff in the house. They even have Sam Rayburns Cadillac in the garage. It has been restored and looks amazing. I would reccomend everyone visit.
Interesting for those interested in Fannin County history
Great, knowledgeable staff. Tons of information. My kids enjoyed it.
Looks cool online, but when you get there its tiny... maybe worth 30 minutes of your time, but depending on your drive, Id look elsewhere for ways to spend half a day.
Knew only that he was Speaker of the House at some point. Know at lot more now. Well worth it
The Sam Rayburn House in Bonham,Texas us one of the best of all Historic Museum around. This museum is just like it was in 1961 when Mr. SAM died. Everything in the house is as he left it. Mr. Sams antique car that was given to him by congress when he lost the speakership bought with $25.00 checks that are on display at the Sam Rayburn Library located just down Hwy 56 here in Bonham.
If you are interested in history its worth doing very knowledgeable guide lots of antiques including Sams Cadillac.
The tour guide was so informative and fun. She took us all around the house and pointed out so many features. I learned so much in just an hour.
