This is such amazing place. We got to meet the cutest little alligator named Dash and the rest of the animals there. The nature center was a great experience but the boardwalk outside is a little underwhelming. In all, a great afternoon trip.

This is a delightful park that has a little bit of something for everyone. The center itself is a fun and interactive place for kids and adults to experience a small, taste of florida nature up close and personal. Their exhibit room is stunning and informative. They also have daily animal feedings :-) my kids adore this place!

They do a good job cleaning up the boardwalk, normally theres a billion ants everywhere but thats not the case if its been maintained and cleaned during that week/day. Hit or miss really. But the views are nice, I pretty much just bird watch there.

A great place to take a walk with nature. The boardwalk offers some spectacular views of native vegetation and environment. The viewing tower at the east end of the boardwalk allows you to see the trees and water from above. The Nature Center is a visually engaging education resource that gives stunning graphic illustration of the inhabitants of our South Florida environment and ecosystem. Great place to take the family - all ages. Catch the sunset.

Inside is a learning experience, knowledgeable staff and outside is remarkable just the sights, especially the butterflies all types and wildlife. I was there on a field trip today with my child. It was raining so the staff had indoor learning activities for the children. We learned about birds/owels, reptiles, turtles and many other species living in fl wetlands. We also did arts and crafts. I would totally take my children back here, enjoy.

To put it simply, its a great, somewhat out of the way nature center and boardwalk trail to visit whenever its open. Fair weather is recommended for visiting if you arent the type to handle Florida heat. Also, be sure to hold onto your plastic bottles and other disposable things, as this is a natural area. Do not even think about carelessly dropping trash here, as it ruins the sightseeing experience, and is also illegal.Warm regards otherwise, though.

Daggerwing Nature Center is located inside of Burt Aaronson South County Regional Park. Just follow the signs in the park, you cant miss it. The nature center is named for the S Ruddy Daggerwing butterfly. The 39 acre nature center has a 3,000 foot exhibit center built in 2007 when the nature center underwent 2 million dollar expansion. The exhibit hall has live animals, displays, laboratories, classrooms, and a butterfly garden out front. Many educational programs are put on by the staff here throughout the year. One of the programs they offer is night hikes. I used to take my daughter to the Earth Day program and ladybug release. This year the Earth Day celebration is on April 27th from 10 to 2 PM. The center has limited hours and even when it is closed you can still visit the nature trail elevated boardwalk. The .6 mile boardwalk trail starts off behind the nature center. It crosses over wetlands where I saw turtles swimming. In the past I have seen alligators here. The boardwalk then enters into a tropical hammock. Here you will see pond apple, strangler figs, and myrsine. If you take the trail to the left you end at an observation tower where at the top I found some teenagers smoking pot. The trail to the right takes you over the forest floor covered in giant ferns. The trail dead ends and you have to turn around to go back. Animals that have been spotted at the nature center include Osprey, woodpeckers, butterflies, turtles, and alligators. The purpose of the nature center is to provide environmental education and recreation. There is no cost to visit. Its perfect for kids or anyone who loves nature. If you are lucky and look closely you may spot the centers namesake butterfly among the flowers out front.

Love this place! Daggerwing is a delightful nature center. Theres a boardwalk that goes about 1-2 miles depending on which route you take, and it includes a tower that goes up about 30 feet. You cant see that much from the top of the tower so Im not sure why its there, but its a short and fun climb. The boardwalk is open pretty much everyday, even when the center itself is closed. The staff are very pleasant too, and they have a schedule of activities with a lot for kids.

I planned a Girl Scout troop field trip last summer here. Although my fault, I got the time wrong and we arrived an hour late. When I got there they said they put back the animals and would not bring them back out. We toured the floor and had 10 very sad girls on our hands. I then received a nasty email from one of the staff members the next day, I don’t think that was necessary. Sorry for being late, but staff not nice or empathetic. Won’t be going back.

Great nature boardwalk on the western edge of Palm Beach Countys urban area. Its name comes from the Daggerwing butterfly which is frequently seen in the area. The nature center is in na massive regional park which has Golf course, water park and amphitheater. There are also numerousnature picnic tables and pavilions around the nature center and park. There is no admission fee for either area although the golf course and waterpark have admission fees.
