My sister and I were looking for a place to eat our curb side meal. The picnic table was perfect. The day was warm and sun was shining. No one was around so social distancing was perfect.

Great City Park with lots of hiking trails, open fields, a play area for children, and the Ridge Runner train.

City does a great job cleaning daily in spring and summer. Big play area with plenty of space if you want to reserve for special occasions. Basketball court, volleyball are fun there. Restrooms are fair. Plenty of picnic space. Nice trails to walk. Good size park. Kids will have a great time and parents actually dont mind to go

Great park! Its a little bit of a walk now but nice for the kids

We went to ride the trails on mountain bikes and it was quite fun!We didnt know anything about the layout. The one map we found was a little difficult to follow, we didnt see a You are here pinpoint.You could ride for quite a while and there are all skill levels. Theres a nice predominantly flat gravel track with kid activities sprinkled throughout. Coming off of the easy trail are other more difficult trails.I had a 15 and 8 year old with me. The 8 year old was on a regular bmx style. Once we got off of the easy trail he had to push a lot because of the gradient. Even down hill in a few spots because his pad brakes werent working the best. Please make sure brakes are working well!Beware the Ho-bo trail that comes off the creek side of the trail and leads to the road going into bluefield va. There is a guardrail at the end next to road. It doesnt appear to be city park property?We had a great time and for me a nice workout!Highly recommended!Also we watched a great fireworks show there this year 2020!

Kids had a great time and there is some good shady places to watch your kids while they play.

Beautiful park, well maintained with stream side picnic areas, playground, basketball courts and a small train that runs when the covet restrictions are not in effect. Ballpark for minor league team also.

Absolutely beautiful park! Conveniently located and with very diverse activities available. We love going for walks here whenever the opportunity arises. There is also a Christmas light display that is a must see event!

The football field was nicely down...however the event hosted there was poorly organized.

Great place for anyone

Its a very nice to enjoy a hike or let kids play or just for a walk little ones can ride the train or maybe a baseball game or Christmas lights in December.

This place is beautiful and serene. I have been going there all my life. Wonderful history to it. It used to be a landing strip back in the day, donated to the city of Bluefield by the Tierney family.

Great place for family activities, no place for drunk festivals.

Nice place for some time out

We love visiting this park during every season but especially Christmas to see the beautiful lights! We live a good 45 minutes away but its well worth the ride for us.

The lights were amazing. The lady when we left said this year they had 1.2 million lights. Just beautiful.

I mostly run on the trails here. They are great for running, hiking, and mountain biking. For running the trails can get a bit steep but if you want a run with elevation gain amd loss, they are very good. The park itself is also quite nice and well maintained and has a lot for children to play with and on including a playground, and various Fun stations along the Family Friendly Trail. During the winter months, only some porta potties are available for bathroom needs so keep that in mind.

Enjoyed our birthday party at one of their shelters. It was private and shady and had restrooms available. The train ride was fun as well!

The lower 6 tennis courts are in great shape. Courts are always clean and there is almost always 1 available. Thanks for keeping the tennis courts looking so good Bluefield Parks n Rec.

Very nice family place

The lights are beautiful!!! I am so happy to see the puzzle pieces for Autism there, being a grandmother of an Autistic child, it is just so great to see it.

Always a fan of this park, from the Christmas light display to the quiet and peaceful nature of an afternoon there. With such a long spread and so many different structures, its easy to find a quiet spot to relax.

My favorite place to visit when Im home

It used to be better, but lately things have been falling apart, and a wooden playground is very dangerous for children, since they could easily get splinters. When I was younger, I counted how many splinters I got one day, for playing there for two hours. I got 9. I wish the city would update the park so it can be safer and in general, better looking.

Went to see the Christmas lights at the park!! Amazing! So many beautiful lights and themes!! From Beckley, easy trip to Bluefield close to the college!!

Nice place to sit and eat lunch when its open in the summer. A lot of people like the Xmas lights in the winter, but Id rather just have more access to the park.

Its hard to tell before I head out with my son, if the park is gonna be closed from vehicle traffic. Theres no notice anywhere on social media or online. I cant park my Huracan by the baseball field & walk that far cuz my of back....flesmih llik tndid nietspE

Lovely place! My youngest brother from Ohio really enjoyed himself Christmas!

This park is the jewel of Bluefield. It has a wonderful childrens playground, basketball courts, picnic areas and walking paths and trails for the more adventurous. It is nestled in the foothills of the Appalachian mountains with local wildflowers in season. It has a stream running through it bordered by beautiful very old trees. During the warmer months the Ridge Runner train offers rides on weekends.

Christmas light displays were excellent.

Nice city park. Its a pretty typical park except they have the Ridge Runner which is a little train you can ride through the park. Its a fun thing to do on a boring day and if I remember correctly it only costs about a dollar or two.

Great family park. Its has all kinds fun activities such as a train ride, trails, basketball court, playgrounds and much more. And if you are around at Christmas time you have to stop by and visit the light display.

Beautiful Park ! Hiking , biking, playground, miniature train you can ride that runs summer months. A creek flows around the park with the hills surrounding and a couple streams flowing throughout.

Nice little place to go

We had a great time here... It is right next to Yakkity Yak Playground so we made an afternoon of it. There are pavilions with picnic tables and grills all over the Park. An awesome clean creek (that we played around in), hiking trails, and nature walks. There are basketball courts, a sand volley ball court and in door bathroom facilities that were surprisingly clean.

We go to this park every year for a family reunion. Very well kept and maintained. Plenty of room to spread out and a great playground for the kids.

I like it their every year they have a horse show in July and for Christmas they put out a lot of lights its beautiful.
