I have bought from this multiple times, but I finally decided it wasnt worth the stress anymore. A few times I have won items that they charged me for, that I never received and the ones I did receive would sometimes be incomplete. 2 Boxing memorabilia items were never received, one was marked as picked up even though it was supposed to be shipped. I have no idea who picked it up, if anyone actually did. I have also received so many poorly packed boxes with broken items. Customer service would always give the run around which was very frustrating. Just the risk wasnt worth it...

Fabulous online auction house often featuring higher end, desirable items. My taste runs towards the vintage selections that seem featured regularly. Bidders seem willing to pay more than face value for most pieces or lots so its often frustrating and sometimes costly to try and be the highest bidder. They began offering curbside pickup during the Covid-19 pandemic which they handled very efficiently when I retrieved my recent purchases. Staff has always been friendly and helpful.

Cincinnati location is better than Columbus by far, nice people here, but ultimately they are connected. Frequently missing or lost items, or they say items were picked up that were not. The last time I was there a few days ago I waited almost an before before they gave me my stuff, and apparently there were things missing. Are employees stealing these items? How does this happen so frequently?Several items they have tried to give to me broken without any word about the damage until I said something, including a disintegrating supposedly granite table... I dont think they have people checking for quality or confirming if the jewelry and items are truly made of what they say they are. If thats true, youre much better off at a real antique store or ebay where there is buyer protection.

This review is only regarding the newer 3% charge. I was aware of the charge when it began but did not realize it was to expedite payment. It was my understanding the 3% charge was only for using a credit card and not to expedite anything. So after a few purchases I switched my payment system to direct account withdrawal. Now today I went to pick up an item I won as this is day one of the pickup window, and I was told by the staff that my payment was still pending. She said that if I wanted my payment to be processed immediately I would have to pay the 3% expedited fee otherwise I would have to return another day after my payment is no longer pending. I advised her I have spent thousands of dollars with EBTH and that this is not good policy. Also the last time I went to pick up an item and my payment was pending the staff person let me have my item that day. So as soon as I left I contacted customer service and very surprisingly I was given the same explanation that I should pay the 3% fee in order to have my payment processed and be able to pick up my item during the pickup window. What I want to say to EBTH is if youre going to add a fee for expediting our payment where that was not the case before, you should be transparent about that. Secondly if you are going to charge a fee and a pending bank withdrawal is going to take longer, you should provide a different pickup window for those items. If it is my choice whether I want to pay the 3% in order to get my item immediately versus if I want to save 3% and wait a couple of more days than that is my choice and not a surprise when I show up to get my item.

Very organized and very nice

Ive never sold anything, but Ive bought some small items in the last few years. Ive been pleased with my purchases, but I sometimes check on line for prices, and sometimes people way over bid for things. I only buy if I really like an item and I think its a bargain.

From the very professional movers to the talented staff that put the sale together, EBTH handled the process with efficiency, professionalism, honesty and compassion.

The final straw for me is the new 3% fee for everything expedited I was charged for using my saved credit card to pay. It was a new fee hidden in fine print with no proactive notification from the company. It also expedites nothing and has no impact to shipping. That is a TERRIBLE customer experience. Of the 13 items Ive bought, one was destroyed in shipping, one damaged, one lost in their warehouse and the most recent one has charged me the extra 3% for their troubles.

This site is a s SCAM of an auction. Once you are bidding, if anyone bids within the last 5 minutes it automatically renews for another 5 minutes. That is not an auction. It can apparently go on forever. What is the point of having an ending time. I will NEVER visit this site again.

Have both sold and purchased from this site. Both have been excellent experiences.

They lie about their gemstones. Swore it was an emerald but GIA Graduate Gemologist report said it was only green beryl! And they wont refund tho they lied about it. Been arguing for a month now & they keep passing me around to different people. They ask for one thing from me then when I provide the proof they ask for something else! Nothing is better than the GIA appraisal I gave them saying it is a green beryl. I want my $635 back! Lying cheating scumbags! STAY FAR AWAY!!!

I have bought many items from EBTH in the past several months, but recently their service has been really poor and they have become unresponsive. I won a jacket on June 17 and I still have not received it. Its almost a month now. They charge extremely high shipping rates, some times they are just comical, and now they have coupled that with poor shipping service - such a deal! They also very quietly started charging an extra 1% fee on every purchase about a month or 2 ago, if you didnt have ACH set up with them for payments. Did I mention that they did that with no notification - again such a deal! I noticed another review about a faulty pocket watch - I also had a problem with a pocket watch that was working at the time of evaluation, but once I received it, it never worked and they would not do anything to help with the situation. I believe I am done working with EBTH.

I love EBTH! In many ways, I wish they werent so popular because now competition is way more Fierce! :-) The upside of their popularity is that they have some really great items on the site, the bidding process is easy and fair, and they have always delivered a great value for me. Ive been a loyal user since 2012 and have loved it since I first saw the site.

They were super efficient and the artwork was better than the photos

I won an item on an auction on 6/22/2020. They immediately charged my card $498. I checked in regularly to find out when it would ship. On August 9’th they refunded my purchase without notice. When I questioned them, they stated they “could not find the item I won”. Either they have theft issues in their warehouse or they lack integrity. Either way, stay away.

Very happy with the immediate and generous response to my complaint. My item is on the way and I have been re-imbursed for shipping costs. Thank you!

First time using the website and I was very displeased. The website allows ghost bidding so someone can promise a bid to them but the actual website shows the bid being much less. While trying to find out what the actual price of the item was a typo occured and customer service was no help. Great way to treat a first time customer.

I have a friend that used this auction company to sell some very nice high end items......and I was astonished at some of the wrong business practices that this company is engaged in..Example..They were aware that he had family members bidding on items to increase the prices. Also, they have people that bid on and purchase high end items, so they can resell them and make a lot more money. What they would do is pick up the items they purchased, and send them to some of their other auction locations, but in a different area or state. They are not concerned about the people that are allowing them to sell their items....they are in it for themselves...I noticed they only have a few cities they work in now. However, several years ago they had many more. It was much easier to resell their newly purchased items they were getting from clueless sellers. Sellers and Buyers Beware!!

Ive bought a lot from ETBH and been happy until recent. I bid on a bench that I thought was an unique item, and proceeded to get in a bidding war with one other. I was satisfied with my winning bid though it was higher than I expected to go. Within days, two more of the identical benches showed up on ETBH. To say I was upset is putting it mildly. Had I known that they had 3 of these benches, that they werent unique, then neither I or the other bidder wouldve gotten into a war over the one bench. These two benches sold for hundreds less than what I paid. This seems purposeful that they sold one before the two others, knowing that all three lose value when there are several of the same identical item, but let those bidding on the first item bid without that knowledge. It also seems very likely that they are selling pieces from a manufacturer instead of an estate as it seems highly unlikely that any one person would own 3 of these identical benches. I opened a ticket to express my dissatisfaction and basically the response was sorry about your luck.

As far as online auctions go, Ive had nothing but 100% positive experience with Everything But the House. Registering my email address, bidding on items, payment processing and pickup have been a smooth an effortless process. They have a WIDE array of items to bid on, all the items I have won have met or exceeded my expectations in person. They have very professional and accurate photos. The descriptions are very detailed and accurate. They are packaged very well and secure. Picking up items at thier location is seamless, its the side of the warehouse, you walk in, type in your email address on an iPad kiosk and next thing you know, your item is being handed to you. There are always a few customer service people at the table and they are courteous and provide help if needed. Ive never experienced a long wait. Maybe 10 minutes at THE PEAK HOUR but honestly I dont ever remember waiting that long. The website is very easy to navigate, I primarily use my phone. I recently received a survey and filled it out, a man named Patrick called me to see about answering questions and remedy a question I had. Patrick was very polite, extremely helpful and was 100% devoted to ensure my experience continued to be positive with EBTH. In this day and age of technology, its nice to have humans to answer the phone, call back, look into issues and returning phone calls to let you know the status. I was a happy customer, now Im a very grateful AND happy customer! Thank you Patrick and thank you EBTH.

EBTH used to be a great place to purchase interesting items, with reasonable shipping costs from cities that werent local. Previews were held where items could be inspected. That has changed in the last couple years, and its not for the better. More cities used to be represented, and the number of sales appear to have dropped as well. Descriptions of items are sometimes very lacking or incorrect, and the quality and number of photos disturbing. We have purchased thousands of dollars of merchandise in the past, however, we havent been impressed with the changes made in the last few years. There has been issues with shipping items with at least three different purchases arriving broken and unusable. Hopefully, things can improve in the future.

The absolute best way to liquidate an estate, storage units or your basement items. I have had the best experience with EBTH they have sold over 1000 items for me. I couldnt believe how easy it was to sell items with very little hands on. Much easier than Ebay, local auction houses and yard sales. More exposure =more money! Thank you EBTH!

EBTH is a very professional company. I have bought and sold with them for years. I know and trust that if anything ever goes wrong, they will make it right. Browsing through the online auctions is part of my daily routine. I love finding unique items, and as I am a picker and seller, I learn about what vintage items and art are worth.

Expect to be outbid 50% of the time & when picking up winnings at warehouse locations do NOT leave until items are found, if not found keep constant contact with them & have them ship it to you. You were there for the pickup. Its their fault for misplacing the item(s) within the chain of command, it should be their concern for proper customer services instead of closing help tickets.

It was fun while it lasted. Good place for creative types but no stability for lower level employees in general.

I love buying from EBTH! I love when I can African art items, or other unique objects which I can use in my collections or for re-sale. Im showing just a few which have turned out to far more valuable than the price I paid or even imagined. I also love being able to pick up most all items I buy for free. Just wish it wasnt such a long drive.My only detractor, and reason for subtracting one star is the fact the descriptions and measurements of items of often not as accurate asthey should be. But I will say, EBTH has absolutely the absolute BEST customer service department I have ever worked with! If they cant fix a problem they always have an equitable solution. While I can agree with the former review that the shipping on items from here can be exorbitantly expensive, if you have the means to do a pickup yourself and the item allows it, pickup is free. Admittedly I think they need to somehow retool the outrageous shipping costs and allow more items for direct pickup, but their customer service has helped me resolve numerous issues surrounding scenarios like the one the first review mentioned... Ive seen evidence that theyll make an effort to find a better solution if you reach out.

The variety in what is offered is wonderful and makes it a lot of fun to use your website. It seems like majority of auctions are from locations other than California. I would like to see more auctions from California. Some times I had to call about items I won that had not been recd as quickly as expected, and no information was available. Usually, Cust Serv would call the shipping location to get them to post when the est del would be. The shipping charges are premium rates so I would like to receive my items ASAP and not wait the minimum of 10 week days for arrival. I would also like to see the rates reduced. All in all, I really do enjoy this site so keep up the good work.

Up until today I have had positive experiences with EBTH. When our company received an email with an attached form to be filled out for sales tax exemption, we discovered that our one and only printer was down. With this unusual circumstance, we called customer service, asked that they form be mailed, and was told that they had no way to snail mail the form. What? She refused and even suggested that I go to a neighbor or the library to have the form printed. Really? Our office is about 30 minutes away from the nearest library, and I will not inconvenience our neighbors asking them to use their printer, scanner and computer to email to EBTH because customer service apparently doesnt have access to use the US Postal System. Surely there is a way to fix this on your end? Please advise, thanksUpdate: After another call I did reach a EBTH representative who understood the problem, took my personal info., and said that he would mail the needed documents. In the meanwhile, our Internet and printing services came back on-line and I was able to do what needed to be done on-line. I notified the customer service department that they did not need to mail the info that I needed. All in all this is a GOOD company and I will continue using them.

The rug I bid on, won and purchased is beautiful - just as described and in beautiful condition. I had to take off a star because I thought the shipping charges - twice the cost of the rug - were excessive.

I have purchased some really cool items from EBTH, but they are a complete scam when it comes to shipping. I actually forfeited some items in the past because the shipping charges were three times the amount of the purchase. I thought I learned my lesson and began requesting a shipping quote prior to bidding, well that doesnt work either, when I went to check out the quote had more than doubled! Dont make my mistake, dont purchase anything that you cannot personally pick up, it is a rip off. These poor people liquidating estates get nothing and EBTH makes all the money off the rip off shipping.

Poor communication!!! Too many times I emailed EBTH and did not get a response......or a response for an auction item came after the auction ended...and I too think the shipping charges are obnoxiously high! And taxes on shipping? Never heard of that! And I also agree that if you can pick up an item, DO SO. I even had to call customer service to get an answer on a question I emailed several days earlier.....in which their email response came the day after the auction.....again, POOR COMMUNICATION!
