DJ Alex was awesome! He was so good at reading the crowd and the dance floor! The music throughout it the whole day was just perfect, different styles and variety were used which was great for our crowd! We loved how he helped out with timeline things too such as getting people lined up for the ceremony and grand march and telling the people doing speeches when they would be speaking, being that I didn’t have a coordinator, this was such a huge help! Awesome experience with Instant Request!! Highly recommend for you special day!!

We had DJ OBI for our wedding, and it was a celebration worthy of closing out a difficult. 2020. When planning this wedding, we had a lot of uncertanity and ever changing plans. When I envisioned my wedding day, I knew I wanted to marry the man of my dreams, and have a celebration to remember. I was so happy that DJ Obi was the man to make it happen without any stress. Obi had people on the dance floor the entire night and was amazing overall. He added a personal twist with every song and was extremely personable. All of my guests loved him, and he was so engaged with the guests which was a great and made things so much more fun. I would 10000% recommend DJ Obi to anyone who is looking to have an amazing and memorable night. He was the BEST and we feel so luck to have worked with him.

Alex KILLED it! We had a blast and our guests kept commenting how awesome our DJ was! I felt like we didnt give Alex a ton to go off of during our planning meeting, but he absolutely delivered! He did an excellent job reading the crowd - he watched what my husband/I and our guests danced & sang to, then tailored more songs along those lines. He found a ton of awesome 90s/2000s throwback songs (were 90s kids) that we forgot about but were super excited to hear it and dance. I asked Alex for quite a few favors - I sent him YouTube links for some of the ceremony music and an audio file for the traditional meal blessing. We hired Instant Request for our wedding and they were great! They were affordable, responsive, and very friendly. The dance floor at our wedding was always full and our guests had so much fun! Matt Joyce was our DJ and he was great - he played a variety of music to please all the guests and we blew a fuse during the dance and he was able to solve the issue and promptly and we continued to have a blast! I struggled to choose my final music selections for the ceremony, but Matt was helpful in answering my questions about using the online event planner and everything went smoothly!

Instant Request was one of the best choices we made for our wedding! Everyone we had talked with at the company throughout the planning process was very responsive and helpful. We had DJ Obi for our wedding and we all had the best time! We only had about 50 people that stayed for dancing and he kept the floor moving all night! We had Brandon as our DJ for our wedding and he was absolutely great! He went above and beyond with everything. He was helpful with more than just his role as a DJ which I appreciated so much! He did everything we asked and planned to do and was so great to work with. Instant Request was perfect for our wedding day! We just got married in the midst of the pandemic, and they did an awesome job being flexible with us so we could still celebrate. The Online Event Planner tool they have made it so easy to communicate our plan and figure out which songs we wanted. My Dad and I decided to do our first dance to a mashup of songs and Mitch was so helpful with pulling it together for us. He let me make minor tweaks until it was perfect!  I also reached out to Mitch the week of the wedding to ask for a hands-free mic for my Dads speech and thought it would be too last minute, but he made it happen for us! We had Kevin as our DJ for the day of and he was so great to work with. He only talked with me a few times beforehand but everything went exactly as planned, if not better! He helped act as MC, made some announcements for our guests about the shuttle schedule, and kept us on track throughout the night. He played great song choices - exactly the mix of what we were looking for - got everyone out on the dance floor and kept them there! He also did our ceremony music and it went flawlessly.  We couldnt be happier with our day!

Wow, where do I begin?!? I attended a wedding a couple summers ago where Obi was the DJ. He was amazing and I thought to myself, when I get married I will have Obi there for our DJ. Being a “2020 COVID Bride” has been an emotional rollercoaster to say the least but knowing we chose Instant Request for our DJ/Lighting services put me at ease! Kai was our selected DJ and it was such a great fit. Kai had great communication, was prompt, made a wide variety of music selections for all guests to enjoy, and rolled with the punches when unexpected changes happened due to new MN COVID mandates. The website is set up very well. They have almost any song you could want, and if they dont, they can add it. Alex was our DJ and was amazing. We had DJ Obi as our DJ for our wedding which had roughly 60 guests, and we were blown away. Our wedding was initially scheduled for April, and due to COVID, we had to re-plan everything to October. I have to give a shoutout to Matt and Mitch for making the process so smooth, but it was DJ Obi that really transcended our experience with Instant Request.Obi reached out to us prior to our date, and walked us through every detail we could ever imagine. From first dance songs, to how we wanted to handle the clinking of glasses he guided us to a perfect day. His mixing skills were next level, and his ability to read a room that had 75% 25-30 year old kids and 25% adults 55+, and make it fun for all parties was spectacular. Everything went off without a hitch, and Obi was a major reason why.Obi also sang a heartfelt congratulations song for us as the dance was winding down and my wife and I were very touched. It was amazing, not only because his voice was divine, but because I think it symbolized a level of comfort that we shared with how the night played out. I couldnt recommend DJ Obi any stronger, and I hope that he continues to impact couples weddings like he did ours.Cheers

My now husband and I hired instant request for our wedding on 09.25.2020. I came across the company from attending a wedding fair last year.Right away I was impressed with their customer service. I did some shopping around to see what else was out there and realized instant request was hands down going to be the DJ company we went with.I was impressed with their online system that allowed you to input all your song requests. It was so detailed, from asking what song genre you want playing during your cocktail hour to the exact specifics for first dances.We did not use the option to request a DJ but let me tel you... we were super impressed with who got assigned to us.Shoutout to Alex Knight for being a rockstar. Booked instant request and Obi came though and did a wonderful job at our wedding reception. Our original dj had to back out due to a personal injury and Obi stepped in and saved the day. He was kind enough to take a phone call from me at 10 pm the day before our wedding to go over details and schedule. Obi was so kind and professional at every interaction. Most important of all he made our reception a blast! He did such a great job of reading the room/bridal party and kept the dancing and party going. He brings a great energy to your reception and you will not regret working with him.

Bret Christiansen with Instant Request did an unbelievable job! He accommodated to our every need, including last minute changes. Obi from instant request was GREAT as my wedding DJ! The planning process was simple and fun, and Obi was great to communicate with! Our guests loved him!

*warning - long review ahead*We used Instant Request for our 9/5/20 wedding reception and had a unique experience due to COVID. We went the black-tie route, which was great at the time, and picked our DJ super early, but of course - as we all know, 2020 has been a crazy year. Our original date was 6/6/20 so we had been set up with a DJ for that day, but due to COVID we ended up postponing our reception to 9/5/20. Unfortunately, our original DJ wasn’t available on our new date, so we had to choose a new one DJ. As luck (or lack thereof) would have it our second DJ became unavailable 5 days before our wedding (due to no fault of his own), and we got reassigned a (third) new DJ – 5 days before a wedding I had already planned and re-planned in addition to all the other changes that arose with a COVID wedding. BUT Instant Request was great and quick to let us know of the situation. I will sing the praises of Matt with Instant Request as he was quick to communicate this news to us and able to provide alternative DJs in order to help us find a replacement on such short notice. We were refunded the black-tie cost to accommodate the fact that we didn’t really have a black-tie experience at the end of the day due to things getting switched around so last minute. Again, I was highly impressed with Matt and the way the situation was handled – so kudos to Instant Request!Our third (and final DJ) assignment was Obi O. Obi has an amazing personality is SO fun and upbeat - he is exactly the type of person I would expect a DJ to be! There were a few hiccups with communication, and we didn’t end up connecting until the night before our reception (which was stressful – can’t lie about that), but Obi was very apologetic the next day and assured me our event would be perfect and it was! On reception day we were very impressed with Obi’s appearance (he dressed to impress), music selection and ability to keep people on the dance floor all night long. He is an excellent DJ and went along with all of my unique ideas for making our reception one to remember. He had seamless transitions and is very talented when it comes to music. He even ended our reception by serenading us with a personalized song to close out the night. He sounded SO good that all of us thought it was a recording until he sang our names and we realized it was him singing! Overall, I’d recommend Obi and I am sure that if more time was involved, we wouldn’t have had issues with communication at all, it just happened to be a quick turnaround time due to the last-minute switch. SO - book Obi if you want to have sore feet the day after your wedding and six chins in all of your reception photos from singing/laughing and dancing the night away!

We used instant request DJ for our wedding and we couldn’t have been happier with the service they provided! We met with our DJ, Justin, about a month before the big day. Getting to know him and vice versa truly helped him understand what we were looking for. Charlie D worked with us for our wedding earlier this month. Charlie is super fun and laid back, reads the room like no other, and made us feel instantly at ease because we trusted him immediately. Instant Request and our DJ Randy were outstanding. The experience my Bride and I had was phenomenal, from meeting at the Instant Request headquarters to the last song at our reception. We were shown how to navigate their website and we were able to select songs we wanted played and not played. We selected a handful of songs and DJ Randy took control of our reception and kept our guests on the dance floor until the very end of the night. We also used up lighting and that looked amazing along with our decorations and the up lighting was very reasonably priced. The night was perfect and DJ Randy and Instant Request only made it better. Our DJ Allie P. was AH-mazing! She came super early to set up and talk with the coordinator at our venue. Because we didnt have a wedding planner on site, she offered for all questions and concerns to be brought to her, and she would do her best to assist. She not only played great music but MCd our dinner, speeches, and helped us to do a fun Q&A. She met with my husband and I a few weeks before the wedding to go over the schedule, talk about music, and get to know each other. Our dance floor was packed the entire night, and we got kicked out from the venue at midnight. I could honestly not recommend someone more highly!

We were so lucky to have Alex Knight as our Wedding DJ!! We reserved through Instant Request DJ and based on our information were paired with Alex. I was able to grab coffee with him prior to the wedding to chat about the music for the day and instantly knew that it was the perfect match! Justin was our DJ and did such an amazing job. He checked in with us about a week or so out from our wedding and went over all the details. He did both our wedding ceremony and reception and just did a wonderful job. He can definitely read the room. I had so much fun dancing with everyone, we even got grandma out on the dance floor and such a large part of that was because of him. He was so kind and professional throughout the entire night. When one of my family members had a medical emergency and it kind of stopped the party in its tracks but after we were able to get her the help she needed he was able to bring everyone back and get the party started again. I’m so so so glad we choose instant request and had Justin as our DJ. Everyone told us what a wonderful job he did.

We got married 10/12/19, the weather was not ideal, and we actually lost power...a few times.We had DJ OBI, he was and is amazing. He was very laid back during the power outages and the chill from having our wedding in a large tent. He kept the dance floor full and catered to our requests through out the evening. Tom Coughlin was our DJ for our wedding in January! I can’t say enough great things about him. You can tell Tom has been doing this for a long time as the night went as smooth as it could. The dance floor was full all night long and he had guests basically throwing money at him to play more songs as the end of the night! He played a perfect range of songs for everyone. If you are lucky enough to have Tom as your DJ you can expect the dance floor to be packed all night!

Instant Request absolutely exceeded our expectations from start to finish. Our wedding was on November 2nd, 2019 and we found IR through both our venues preferred vendor list and met them at a wedding fair. We also had so many people recommend IR to us, so we already knew we were in great hands. Having the right DJ and a full dance floor the entire night was something very important to us. We went with the black tie option and had Brandon Holland aka DJ Carmel Sauce as our DJ. I dont think there is enough we can say about Brandon from our first meet and greet to his fun professional personality and his ability to keep the energy going ALL NIGHT! HE IS AMAZING!!!! Our entire wedding party and guests absolutely loved him and it felt like he was truly a part of our day. He was so helpful to keep things going on time, I never had to think twice about the details, he checked in with us throughout the night and really made us feel like we could let loose and enjoy ourselves. We also gave him an idea of what we were looking for as far as music goes but ultimately had him really run the show, I mean he is the professional, not us :) You will not be disappointed with IR and you will most definitely not be disappointed with Brandon!!! Thank you so much!!!

Their online portal was easy to use to pick specific songs we wanted or the type of music we wanted playing. We also were able to communicate all of the details of the day to the DJ. Our DJ, Andrew, was really easy to work with and worked with us to loop the song I wanted to play during the processional of the ceremony. He also had great attention to detail and noticed that I had the names out of order for how he was going to announce the wedding party at the reception. Our dance lasted 1.5 hours longer than expected because people were having such a great time, and Andrew communicated with me to make sure that we shut it down in time for everybody to catch the last shuttle back to the hotels. We had a great experience!

We did the black tie and requested DJ Jimmy. He did an absolutely AMAZING job at our wedding. We were so appreciative of his input and quick communication. He picked great music and had everyone dancing, we had many of our guest come up to us and tell us how much fun they were having with the music and dancing. We would highly recommend DJ Jimmy and Instant Request.

DJ Allie was an incredible addition to our wedding. From our surprise first dance, to the rap from our maid of honor, to our three song throwback to the 1950s, and everything in between--she was an absolute pleasure to have at our wedding. When we first decided on booking a DJ, I was worried about who they would be and whether or not they would match up with what we were hoping for our wedding to be. Allie was a sound technician, a wedding coordinator, and a disc jockey all in one. She was so incredibly professional and a joy to work with. I honestly cannot overstate how great it was to have her as a part of our big day. If Allie is working on your wedding, you are in excellent hands!

If we could only repeat one detail of our wedding it would be booking Instant Request specifically, Jimmy B. We knew right after meeting him that we were in good hands and he did not disappoint. He was able to read the room and switch the music to keep people on the dance floor all night. We highly recommend Instant request and Jimmy B.

David was amazing! We met him prior to our wedding and he quickly relieved a lot of the stress I had around planning our ceremony and reception timing. He kept everyone on the dance floor all night long and made sure everything including speeches ran smoothly. He was very friendly and listened to our wants/needs. Instant Request was fantastic to work with. The service was affordable and their online event planner was easy to use allowing us to customize everything about our wedding day. Our DJ Brandon was fun, interacted with guests, and accommodated specific requests we had regarding announcing us as a couple. He did a great job with the set list, mixing and blending songs, and kept the dance floor full! He also worked with our event coordinator independently to arrange setup and tear down of equipment. We were very, very happy with our experience with Instant Request. This was for our wedding and Bryan (our DJ) was not only accommodating and on his game but just an all around great guy. The system they use to allow you to select your music is easy to use and they are happy to add songs that may not be in their library. We had a fantastic wedding and part of that was definitely due to our great DJ. Definitely recommend!

Its hard to imagine having a better experience with a wedding dj service than I had with Instant Request DJ Entertainment and specifically, DJ Jimmy B from their Black Tie Staff. We hired DJ Jimmy to play music and supply a microphone for our wedding ceremony and our reception. DJ Jimmy was incredibly professional and well-prepared, he did a great job during our ceremony, and an even better job getting people on the dance floor. He played music that we requested and added in his own selections that were fantastic. He was a great communicator during the event and I really appreciate the amazing job he did for us. Id recommend DJ Jimmy and Instant Request to everyone.

I knew Justin R would be perfect for our wedding when he did his “DJ voice” in the middle of Caribou during our planning meeting and sure enough, JUSTIN KILLED IT. I got the recommendation to request him as our Black-Tie DJ through Ashley (another reason to hire a day of coordinator) and he literally made our entire night. I have never been to a wedding where EVERY song was the perfect song for that exact moment. Our dance floor was filled the entire night and I have had so many people come up to me and say that it was the most fun wedding they have ever been to. I ended up doubling my tip for him on the spot because he was so great. Every time you thought “I’ll sit out and rest for the next song”, a song would start playing that you couldn’t possibly sit out. It was amazing. We also did uplighting through Instant Request and it was easy, reasonably priced, and made our reception space so beautiful.

Instant Request was a great company to work with. They matched me with DJ Jamir. HE WAS AMAZING! I appreciate that he called me before the wedding to confirm my website profile, answer any questions, & to get to know me a little. I was grateful for his suggestions on when to give speeches, bouquet toss, garter toss, etc. I am happy to say we had no problems during the event, only people asking me what company I used because they were so impressed! He kept everyone out on the dance floor!

Mitch and Matt are great to talk to and are very much the first people during the process that help get the days overall flow figured out (there were times I when I was in a better mood after speaking to one of them!). We were assigned Alex Knight for our wedding day and we were pleased with his services from beginning to end. Guests of all ages complimented his personality, flexibility, song transitions/mixing, and courteousness. The next day, my mom exclaimed she enjoyed his interactions and positivity and wanted to send him a tip! (we tipped him day of :)). Highly recommend this company. They are all great people!

Jimmy was absolutely amazing from the start all the way to the end. Website for picking out songs made our lives so easy and changing songs later on wasn’t an issue. Would use for all my future marriages. (Hopefully not though)

We were assigned a DJ and a few weeks before our wedding we were notified 5 days before our wedding that our assigned DJ had a scheduling conflict and was unable to make it. We were then assigned a new DJ, and even though we were very frustrated with the company for canceling our original DJ we ended up being SO happy with the fill in we had. Charlie was AMAZING and made our day so special. He took note of every small request that was made and did a great job! Music was great and everyone loved him. Luckily I wasnt super particular with my DJ however I could see other couples getting very upset about the DJ canceling days prior to the wedding and you being assigned someone new. That would be my only negative thing I would have to say! Otherwise I would recommend to future friends and family!

Had Raymond Bell as a DJ for my wedding and he was wonderful! Ray was professional and worked hard to make sure our day ran smoothly. Every time a song played Ray would be interacting and having a good time with the crowd, all while playing great songs!

We had an awesome evening with Instant Request at our wedding. The day of the event, a different DJ showed up than our original assigned DJ, but he did a great job. We loved everything about our experience with Instant request. Starting with the prices- super affordable and well priced. Second- they had a really great program where we could pick out songs for each important piece of the wedding as well as upload our own songs to their stock lists. Eric was the DJ for our wedding and we could not have been more impressed and happy with his work. He was always responsive to our needs in advance if our wedding and took care to make sure the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner and evening dancing had the songs that we wanted played. Ryan W was awesome! He read the room well and kept the dance floor going all night. He also listened to our thank you speech which quoted a song and played the song immediately after -- super thoughtful and intuitive. The dance was a priority to us and thats why we went with Instant Request. They gave us peace of mind and an excellent party.

We used Instant Request for our wedding reception. Our DJ did everything we asked, the only thing I would recommend is to utilize the planning tool and make a list of must play songs. We wanted a mix of 90s and 2000s from our college years, and that is what we got, but there were songs I wish would have been played that I didnt think about until later. That is not the DJs fault, just something I would do differently if I could go back and change it. Also, I was very happy that when I asked for a song it was played next, I was the bride after all!

Ill start with this - Kyle did an AMAZING job DJing our reception. We have had multiple people tell us that our dance was the most fun wedding dance theyve ever been to. Id give Instant Request 4 stars during the reception. Reason: there was one point where the DJ ran off and the music just stopped. My husband and I were chatting with some of our guests when all of a sudden the music just completely stopped and Kyle came running back. Also - my husband and I left at 10:15PM. It was agreed upon that the DJ would play the last song at 10:45. We learned that right after we left, he started packing up... Also, there was a song that we wrote on the pre-form TWICE for him NOT to play. He played it...At the end of the day, we are married and that is whats most important. However, Id like to give an honest review as I know this could be a deal breaker for some. During the ceremony, right in the middle of the pastors message, Kyle accidentally played our recessional song - twice. We had 2 recordings and he played them in the wrong order.We were matched a week before the wedding with our DJ and they said that our DJ would reach out, but I had to reach out to the DJ to connect a few days before the wedding since we didnt hear anything. I spent a long time filling out the initial sheet, but it seems as though that was not even looked at.Again, at the end of the day we are married and that is what is 100% most important, but as others are evaluating their DJ, this was our experience with Kyle at Instant Request.

We had David as our black tie DJ and he was amazing! He was so great at reading the crowd to constantly keep the mood lively and fun! One of our biggest concerns was to make sure everyone was dancing and having fun and David totally made that happen! We would recommend every future brides and grooms use instant request and also to ask for David - you will not regret it!
