Took the family to see Newsies, the Disney musical, for Christmas. This quaint little theater is in great shape and restored nicely. Overall a fun experience but found it difficult to hear the actors over the orchestra and will probably sit farther away on my next visit.

The BCT is a great place to watch intimate shows from theater, dance or music. They also show classic movies throughout the year. The concession stand offer reasonably priced items and customer service is always great. Its located in the main Bloomington hub, near many shops, restaurants and bars

This historic theater is a treasure! The natural acoustics are lovely. Its operated by wonderful people who really care about the arts. Dont skip the concessions--most of the offerings are local! Pro-tip: Use the bathrooms on the top floor--lots of stalls and no line! Check out the cool history/art while youre up there.

The Buskirk-Chumley is one of Bloomingtons gems. We visited on Wednesday, November 6th and attended Gregory Alan Isakov with Luke Sital-Singh opening up. It was a special evening with some amazing musicians playing some soulful sonic lyrical masterpieces. The acoustics in the theatre were outstanding and it was nice to feel the drums in my chest. Great job staff and it was nice running into Mr. Austin, one of the best band teachers in Monroe County. ;) Hes a great musician in his own regard.

The show was amazing as well as lighting. Seats felt ok.However concession is super pricey. 2 dollars for a can of soda and 4 dollars for a small bag of gummy bears. Like I said good show, however probably not the absolute best theater Ive been to.

The Buskirk Chumley is an amazing theater to go to. This is an historical building with a gorgeous interior. The inside of the Buskirk Chumley is elegant and classy. If youve never been you at least need to go once in your life. They have all kinds of events going on at the Buskirk Chumley. From Dancing With the celebrities to the Martin Luther King jr Celebration! I highly recommend checking out the Buskirk Chumley. The staff are always extremely nice.

Review №21

Amazing staff. The theatre is personable and welcoming. They do their best to accommodate. Their wide selection of shows means its worth checking out what is going on here every week. Unfortunately Covid-19 seems to have hit them hard and they barely have any shows for 2020. I just wish more things were happening here.

Buskirk-Chumley is amongst the best places in Bloomington. Ive enjoyed great events there and here are some reviews:Wide variety of events from musicals to movie screenings and to concerts..Widely known artists from across the US and even from world taking stage..Great staff helping you with anything at their bestDesign of the theatre allowing you a clear eye sightAffordable ticketsHowever, I should include that the bakery next to the theatre (only place you can enter food inside) does not give a variety of foods. Their chocolate is good though :D

I typically visit the Buskirk Chumley to hear the Bloomington Symphony Orchestra play. I use will-call, which has its own entrance to the left of the front doors. Once inside you can enter the theater by walking up the few stairs at the back of that room. The service is always exceptional and the wide variety of their offerings make the downtown an exciting place to be.From greeters at the door, to the ticket takers and concessions; everyone is cheerful and friendly. The building itself is exquisite. It has been around since the early 1920’s and has a wonderful Art Deco feel to it.For those of you with accessibility needs:It is important to note that there is some handicapped seating on the first floor (orchestra level) and you will be able to navigate from the road to your seat, as well as restrooms with no stairs to grapple with. There is no elevator or powered doors in the building. To use the will-call, you’ll need to enter the door to the left of the Buskirk Chumley, collect your tickets and then go out that same door to be able to enter. I hope you have a wonderful time!#accessible #arts #theater #btown

Ive been to the Buskirk-Chumley theater for a couple of events. The one minor negative is the small common area for refreshment sales. The seating is comfortable, seats are reserved, and staff are incredibly helpful. This is a small community space which is focused on community presentations. Every town should have this.
