Went here on an unseasonably warm day in early November. Only walked a half mile of the trail (apparently the full loop is slight over 3 miles) which runs along the perimeter of the lake. Very serene (no traffic noise!) and wooded on the path, typical Oklahoma landscape of blackjack oaks and other trees. Good views of the opposite banks which were full of fall colors. Also, there is a fenced area beside the road on the east side of the lake that has grazing donkeys and goats. If you need an outdoors fix, this is worth a visit.

Quiet place to take a hike. There were 3 donkeys and a small herd of goats out there hanging around. The trail disappeared a little on the north edge of the lake, but was easy to find the way back.

Little known/quiet lake with minimal facilities but nice walking trails. Good for Kayaking or fishing without power boats racing up and down. Three usable picnic shelters (others vandalized). One portapotty on the North side and thats it.

Lake Bixhoma is a hidden gem that is so close to Tulsa (~30min) yet feels like you are out in the middle of the Ozarks! Its very peaceful and beautiful. Fun activities are fishing, kayaking, picnicking and paddle boarding. The only facilities is a Port-a-Potty on the north side of the lake near the boat ramp. Theres also a waterfall and 3 hiking trails. (A sketched reference map of the lake features is attached to this review):-- Bixhoma Falls: (500) This trail starts right where the road crosses the outlet for the lake. A short walk along the creek takes you to a beautiful 40 waterfall that really roars after a good rain.-- Ichabod Crane Trail: (1/2mi) long (Google Maps calls it the Sleepy Hollow Trail) This loop trail is on the NW corner of the lake and was built as a Boy Scout project in 2007 and goes through some old growth Post Oak forest w/ trees 300-400yrs old. It can be hard to follow since it isnt well-used and isnt marked at all past the trail head.-- Bixhoma Lake Trail (~2.5mi): This trail is a little more adventurous as it goes all the way around the lake (walking the 1mi of road back to your car makes it about 3.5mi total). Just follow the yellow and orange flags. Wear good hiking shoes as it can be rough. It also includes a creek crossing that can get your feet wet as the water can get high after a good rain. You can get an idea of how high the water will be with how much water is flowing out the lake outlet.

Beautiful Lake.. its a real shame that theres no real hiking trail, no beach for swimming. If youre looking for a quiet place to put your kayak or paddle boat in this seems like an ideal location closely located to Bixby.

When we actually found the right spot it was cool. Dont listen to Google, itll take you to a dead end with no trespassing signs. The actual lake is cool. Probably good fishing. Lots of snakes. We saw two cottonmouths and a rat snake in about 30 minutes of walking around. We didnt go up the Ichabod trail bc of overgrowth of poison ivy and possible snakes...lol. This was after all of the flooding so thats why it seems unkempt.

Its pretty easy to get down to the water here. When I visited, it was not crowded. Several people were fishing, but I didnt see their fish. You do have to have a fishing license from the Bixby city location to be able to fish here. I only stopped to check it out. I plan to go back after I get a Bixby city license.

Pretty little lake, but shore fishing is almost impossible because of all the growth at the edges and the shallows. There are two docks, but one was broken.

This had a nice view but the road is very rough of you want to go around the lake a bit. At the spot I went I didnt really see any trails. Mostly a boat launch

Should invest some money here. Widen the road, make a beach, install hiking trails all the way around are some suggestions.
