My favorite dive bar in the Southeast. Live music before (and hopefully after) COVID-19 with a fun crowd and good prices on drinks.

The history is what makes it. You can catch some awesome shows here. The crowd can be very random.

Great music, both local and touring. Great staff who are friendly amd attentive. There is a cover charge when theres a show, but its well worth it. Good standard beer selection at decent prices, plus some local craft beers at great prices. When theres no live music, theres a touchtunes jukebox, 2 pool tables AND AN AIR HOCKEY TABLE! One of the oldest and BEST music/bar venues around. Check it out!

Always dirty. Rude door guys. Drinks are overpriced. Bands are interesting to say the least.

Birmingham institution. I understand there are bigger, more hip venues in the ham but when it comes down to it you got to play the Nick. Seedy, still scary for mainstream visitors, but nothing to fear. As long as you behave like a person you will be treated like a person. Bar staff is correct and welcoming, drinks are very decently priced and the sound guy knows what he is doing. Catch a show, any show, and tickle the underbelly of the ham.

Can see up and coming bands from all over the country. Saw Janes Addiction there back in 1988. Great bartenders. Good people.

Classic live music dive. Shows 7 nights a week. Rap, metal, funk, and everything in between. They have a decent selection of beer too. Always open late. Whats not to love about this place?

Theres something thats awkwardly enjoyable about an old concert venue. The Nick has been the most consistent dive bar experience in America. Ive visited here every so often since 1992 and things just dont change there. Its old, unrefined, rough, a little dark, and a bit too loud, but thats exactly what I expected.Theres not much to the place, limited parking lot, older building, a bit of out-dated decor, and limited seating. But its a dive-bar... no frilly decor or elaborate marquee. But the music is loud, the beer is cold and the people are enthusiastic.

Birmingham is full of bars that have this weird upper-end hipster aesthetic. This is not one of them. The drinks are cheap and to the point; the decor is like the bumper of a Grateful Dead fans Jeep; and the music is always rad af. Plus it is open to the ungodly hours of the morning.
