So wonderful to see places and events of our history.

What a place to visit and see history and witness the power of the people who gave everything for basic civil rights. I personally cant even imagine what these brave people went through just for equality. I hope and wish that everything everyone went through changes fast because seeing this monument and dedication park makes me so sad we live in a world like this. And I hope my photos really resonate with individuals as they did with me.

A very informative museum! I learned so much about the civil rights movement and its history in Birminghamy! Its very interactive and modern as well!You should go there when ever you visit Birmungham!

Amazing to see you in person. The city has done a great job preserving history. I was visiting from Oregon head only seen it on TV and it was so much more amazing in person.

The history came alive and the phone tour was excellent.

A LUMP IN THE PIT OF MY GUT.. that didn’t go away when I returned to Northeast Tennessee. Every person of every skin hue should spend several hours here and show deep respect.

This is an historical review of some extremely important events in local-- and American-- history. It is not overly dramatic or anything like that, but it is a straight-forward, clear description of events and people. Some folks make you proud-- Fred Shuttlesworth is an example; others, like the infamous Bull Connor, make you gasp with wonder at what people can do to each other.An unintended bonus: there are several older gentlemen (who all, oddly enough, seem to be named Walter) are eager to tell you the story they know about what it was all really like back in those times. Not everything youll hear is accurate, but it is all very sincere, it is mostly accurate, and it is highly personal. One Walter told us about his grandfather having lived in that neighborhood, and his father as well. Walter had lived in the neighborhood his entire life.

Went with my family for just a quick walk around while passing through. We got bombarded by people wanting money. Just wanted to walk through and read all the statues. We did not feel safe. Very bummed to be there for less than 5 min!

I watched Rickey Smiley video of the park and felt I had to visit even if the museum was gonna be close.

Nice place. Very historical

Beautiful area, but surrounded in aggressive homeless people. We tried to stay and see all the history but started being followed by a man. Personally felt unsafe and would recommend being in a group or having some form of protection.

Great park dedicated to history, aggressive homeless population descends on the park new sundown to claim their spot and solicit money.

This is a nice park to hang out with family and friends.

When visiting this monument keep in mind that in January 2019 Burmingham Civil Rights Institute secretely met to made a betrayal decision on the worlds human rights BDS movement by rescinding the award for the profound human rights legend Angela Davis because of her support of human rights movement in Palestine.It is a shameful act to stay in the human rights history!

A true learning experience even for those familiar with the civil rights movement. Cant allow ourselves to forget history, or well be susceptible to repeat it.

Honest and authentic look at Civil Rights. Well worth your time and support.
