This is a great little hiking trail. Plenty of parking, picnic tables, grills, and even a splash pad, though the splash pad closed this season (2020) due to Covid. There is stationary fitness equipment located along the trail as well, such as pull up bars and a rope climb. The main trail is less than a mile, so a perfect day for small children. There are some smaller offshoot trails if you want to do a little more exploring as well. Dogs are welcome, so long as you pick up after them! There are some doggy waste bags and a dumpster at the beginning of the trail.
Weve been here several times in the past few years. Its a great shaded splash pad and our kids love it.The reason I am posting a review now is to help people know that the splash pad is closed for 2020 season. We didnt see any indication online about it. So wanted to share it here.Definitely recommend it when it opens next year.
This is a beautiful splash pad...when it is open. Their website gives absolutely no indication that the splash pad is closed, so you dont find out until you get all the way there. Im unclear why its closed, as splash pads were allowed to reopen under Phase 2. Then again, this has happened before a couple years ago. It closed for the remainder of the season, with no indication online.
Awesome place for any age. Took my toddler for a walk on the fitness trail. It was steep (for her) in just a couple places. Most of the trail was smooth, covered in sand, dirt, and pine needles. She especially liked the small storybook trail. We will be back!
As a hiker with a dog, the trails are okay. Good quality but the whole park has a lot of ambient traffic noise because of its location and that made the dog anxious.Looks fun for people with kids though!
Great view from Carpenters rock
Fun little park with some trails for the kids to run around on.
Great place for little kids at in the watet
Great splash pad for little kids, my toddler loves it. Nice trails through the woods for walking. $5 to get in per car isnt bad compared to other places around, and totally worth it because my kid could stay there for hours. Bring a folding chair because there are only a few picnic tables gor seats that fill up quick, and a plastic bucket or water toy for your little one, theyll love it!
Should have a warning on the website that you cant play on playground. Wasted my time.
Also park nestled in the city. The park has a few kettle lakes, perfect for amphibians and other inhabitants of land locked and vernal pools. The water park is also fun for the under 10 crowd.
Very fun to walk around and play around with the exercise equipment.
Very pretty, serene and comfortable. A nice woody oasis in the suburbs. Surprisingly quiet.
A couple of water sprayers in the park need attention, but my 5 year-old had a great time. Great place to walk your dogs and let your kid burn off some excess energy.
Nice walking trail with an exercise circuit. Parking and restroom.
My grandkids love it
Nice walk in woods. Good trails. Smell of pine.
Great place for young kids. Lots of picnic tables, a restroom and even a covered area. Very shaded which is great for really hot & sunny days but you’ll definitely need big spray!
Nice place to go on a nature hike!
Nice hidden gem with open Trails that are pretty simple and well kept up. The fitness stations are also cool check out as well. Great for low-key recreation and family getaway.
Great trails, cute splash pad....bring bug spray!
Great place to take your dog it kids for a hike or walk in the woods..More trails across rt 129 good for mountain bikes
Great place and the girl working the parking both was super helpful.
Shorter trail with excellent physical function stations all along the way. Great for a change of pace workout. Easy access makes it attractive.
Very well kept, splash pad is so much fun on a hot day! -1 for lack of seating around the splashpad, the two tables fill quickly on the weekend.
Doesnt have trash containers
Splash pad, but good mtb trails on the other side
Great adult exercise equipment like monkey bar and climbing rope
Great place for a walk and clearing your head .
Great hidden gem! There is a small water park for kids to play and run around. Its nice and shade. And after or before playing in the water park families can take a short trail through the woods. Beautiful park!
My beagle loves it there
Nice quiet place to read during lunch
Great place to walk with kids and our dog
Great technical mountain biking.
Love the outdoor fitness stations here! Nice trails too!
One of the only Parks you can bring your child AND your dog together! Only thing is I wish they would add a playground (when water park is over crowded with big kids there could be another option for the smaller ones)!
Great little wooded park for hiking and taking the kids. Water park is small and super cute. I do wish they would charge less during the summer for those who go simply to hike versus using the waterpark. I certainly dont mind paying to help maintain the beautiful park, I just think maybe waterpark goers should pay a little more for their water usage versus people who use no water while there. :) Just a suggestion! We love this park though. Best in Billerica, hands down.
They have a fitness trail thats pretty much an outdoor gym.
Great location absolutely gorgeous great for picnic and kids get to have fun in the water park.
Relaxing and good for tracking biking or walking
Parking can be tricky, the lot is small, so head early, at lunch time or after 3, if its a hot day. Slash pad is fun for the kids, there is also a story book trail, picnic tables with grills, and an exercise path with equipment.
Dropped my credit card in the parking lot and it was gone by the time I got back. Lock your car
The splash pad in the summer is amazing for young children! Its mostly shaded by the trees which is good for sun protection.
Great hidden gem
First time here with my daughter and granddaughter on a very hot and humid day and its great! Did not feel at all humid.
The water park is great and such a deal for $3 parking fee.
Small splash pad for kids. Some picinc tables and grills.
