Ive seen several plays at City Theater in Biddeford, Maine. The venue is small but intimate with no bad seat in the house regardless of whether you sit in the orchestra section or the balcony. Acoustics are excellent. Light refreshments are available as well as a very limited selection of adult beverages. Last but surely not least, each event Ive attended at City Theater has been excellent earning City Theater a solid five-star rating.

The City Theater is one of Biddefords many gems highlighting the revival of downtown, aka, the Biddessaince. With an intriguing history that included being used to store gravel in the mid-1970s, Im glad the the theaters many volunteers cared enough about historical preservation to bring the theater back to its current state.My wife and I saw “It’s A Wonderful Life: Live From WVL Radio Theatre, a live radio broadcast and an new take on the classic Christmas tale. The theater was about 3/4 full and everything was first-rate. I like that they offer beer and wine at intermission.Then, we saw Holly Star, filmed locally in Biddeford/Saco. Another great experience, experiencing this wonderful, historic theater in the heart of downtown.If you havent been to Biddeford in awile, make a point of catching dinner and a show in the near future.

This was my first visit to this adorable little theater in Biddeford. We went to see the local production of Calender Girls. I loved the wide wooden stairs, the interior has been well cared for. Its definitely anmold building but it is beautiful inside. The actors did a fantastic job! I look forward to seeing more plays here.

Saw The Drowsy Chaperone, it was amazing. The theater was very neat and clean. The bathrooms felt very sanitary.

I have been here on many occasions. Some as viewer and at times a participant. This place has some great history. Lots of many different talents have taken this stage. If you ever get a chance to visit, ask working staff about the lady that peacefully haunts our theater!

Hidden away is this beautiful little theater next to City Hall in Biddeford. From the outside, you do not get an impression of the early 20th century opera house that lies within. An amazing little slice of Maines history that assembles an entertaining and energetic troupe of local talent to perform extremely enjoyable shows. The Boston Opera House it is not, but so much more authentic and intimate that you leave feeling like the show was put on just for you. Truly enjoyable.

The beautiful old theatre, the working class modesty of the main street , the talent of the local performers ,the twenty dollar ticket price for a christmas play and concert combined to make a extraordinary charming experience, I felt I had gone back in time far from the sadness and turmoil of the modern day world., Have Dinner right across the street at the thai restaurant If an older couple share an appetizer and a single noodle dish, they are huge !

This theatre is beautiful and historic inside. They provide a great venue for the University of New England Drama Clubs productions.

Beautiful building, comfortable seating. History of restoration is documented in entryway which is very interesting, and information about the, Ghost of City Theatre is shared which is fun.

The theater had undergone several restorations and improvements in recent years. The seats are comfortable if not tight on knee room but the acoustics are phenomenal and there is barely a bad seat in the entire place. Volunteer staff a little concession stand with water, snacks, and tissues.
