This is my favorite place to walk with my family. It is like being transported back in time. The house, barn, and stables are all well preserved and the garden is beautiful. There are a few nice trails for walking or biking. Evenings and weekends are the best times to visit. Afternoons are fine too, but you have the noise from the cement business which is very close, as well as the construction vehicles at the Martin Towers site.

Great place to visit with the family and/or dog. A historic trail runs through the property. Check for local events such as the Blueberry Festival.

This place is ok. We went during the blueberry festival and were supremely disappointed st how few blueberry items there were. The property is gorgeous, but this was just another boring festival.

Burnside Plantation is usually a quiet hideaway close to the middle of the city where you can enjoy some fresh air and learn a bit about local history and nature. Occasionally, it hosts events like The Blueberry Festival where people of all ages can have some fun with different activities throughout the plantation.

Pennsylvania is known for its history and hidden gems, but there is one place that is small but beautiful hidden among the apple trees and surrounding nature. Burnside Plantation has an amazing story behind its rustic barns and butterfly gardens. The plantation is spacious and beautiful. The barns are big and solid surrounded by fields of apple trees and topped with smaller gardens of butterflies and flowers. During the apple festival we experienced some pleasant country music, fresh fruits, cooking tips, and the most amazing apple cider slushies we have ever tasted. If you are ever in the area, Burnside Plantation should be on your list. Youll be amazed at how much history is wrapped up in such a quaint little place. This isnt a thrill seeking adventure, its more for learning, historical and relaxing moments with the family.

I always love when fall comes around for the Apple Days festival and Summer for the Blueberry Festival! There are certain vendors such as Keystone Farms that I look forward to every year and of course the apple and blueberry named foods are always great!

This beautiful plantation takes you back to the 1700s. I worked as a vendor for the Blueberry festival July 21-22, 2018. I took the tour of the historic Burnside house. It has an interesting story. I recommend taking the short tour. The ground are gorgeous! I love the huge vegetable garden. The barns, the willow tree border.

My husband and I went to this apple festival today. I was very excited to go. We paid our $5 cover each and walked in and walked out 15mins later along with a bunch of other people in line with us to get in. There was nothing really there. A handful of vendors but nothing too exciting. We literally gave our $ away to walk in and right back out. There were pony rides and a couple things for kids to do but very disappointing. Plus I would have thought there would be lots of fresh apple pies etc to buy but the only dessert stand looked like nothing special at all. Way to take people’s money for nothing. I will not go back to any other events here.

We came today for Apple Days. It was pretty neat. Lost of great vendors, all apple flavored food varieties, live band. They had a kids tent and petting zoo. The weather was obviously not ideal but that didnt stop people. I definitely recommend this.

Aside from the Plantations historic and cultural importance to the region, the property is beautifully situated atop a low hill along the Monocacy Creek. A couple of acres of gentle slope separate the barns, house, and gardens from the creek. A great green place to stroll and play.

Apple Days is a 5 year fest held in addition to the Blueberry festival held for over 30 years. My wife remembers performing for kids and seniors with Roy Justice and Dave Fry. The volunteers should be proud of what they have done over the years.

I had no idea this place existed but found it randomly turning down a dirt road. Its quaint and rustic but be careful in the driveway as the holes are tremendous and theres no way to really steer around them.
