One of the best haunted houses Ive been too. Definitely well worth it. It takes about 45 minutes to get through. I would get your tickets online and get the VIP especially on a Friday or Saturday night. If you wait until you get there to get the tickets, prepare to wait awhile. The line gets long fast. I did go on a Saturday night which was jam packed but was able to get in, in about a half hour.

I make a point to visit at least once a season. Always a great time if youre into Halloween frights! They keep the experience fresh by updating the layout each year, so as much as I miss the outdoor maze the blow is softened by the satanic cult attraction. VIP tickets are definitely worth the price, as lines can get extremely long especially towards the end of the season.

Long wait, but worth it. We went for the Super VIP package because we were driving in from out of town and wanted to skip the line. It was about an hour and a half line with the VIP, and (I was told) 3 hours wait for general admission. Go early or there is no guarantee you will get in. Music, entertainers, photo ops while you wait. Food and beer for sale. Bathrooms are insufficient for the amount of guests. Parking is free and free hayride style shuttle to and from parking.

Took our g-kids there during the day and had a great time. The scare level was greatly reduced for them. But my wife and I would like to return to experience it in its true state at night in the darkness with the scare factor through the roof. Going through some of the exhibits during the day makes you truly curious what the added feature of darkness and the unknown could possibly be. It brings your expectations and curiosity to a whole nother level hoping you wont be disappointed.

The haunted house was great except for the wait. Got there at 630 and didnt get into the house until 815. The effects and scares were amazing. The escape room, The Alchemist was incredible. Everyone on the staff was also very helpful (getting free tee shirt, coordinating how to find the escape room,etc...) The maze was only 5 dollars but was short and only had two scare actors inside. Toss up if it was worth it. Paid a total of $122 for two people for everything. Definitely worth it. Worth the extra 8 dollars to buy the tickets online and I suggest going early for VIP or youll be waiting awhile. When they are busy, there is a 4-1 ratio (VIP- General Admission). Meaning 4 groups of VIPs go in to one group of GA.

The effort they put into this place and the dedication that had to go into it was amazing. The actor were very good. It I could tell they were getting pretty tired, but I dont blame them. I think they did an outstanding job. The only downfall was that we waited in line for 4 hours in the cold. If it would have rained we probably would have left because it was only 42 degrees out and that would have just added insult to injury. Either way we would definitely go again just maybe pay the extra money for the V.I.P. passes.

Sent an email requesting if my disabled daughters aide would need to purchase a ticket in addition to my daughters, my daughter requires extensive & consistent support, but absolutely loves the Halloween holiday. I got response back saying the aide would need to pay & they had people like my child come there last week and security was there to assist.Wow, what a remark to make when the individual had no comprehension of what my child’s issues were or could potentially be. States the aide should be able to get reimbursement elsewhere for her ticket. Needless to say I supported this haunted house over a decade at least and now, I won’t promote ever going.I was under the impression since they’re nonprofit and have volunteers, they’d be more reluctant to accommodate individuals with special needs requiring a support person, aide, therapist, etc.

They sent us in a group of 6, and when we were going through all of the animatronics were resetting. Barely any actors inside of the house. The scenes and props were neat though. The maze was a waste of money. It was literally only one guy with a chainsaw that thought he was scary, but really only sounded like he was hacking up a lung the whole time. Buried alive wasn’t that great either. 3 minutes in a box and all you get is some smells and banged around a lot. I definitely don’t see how this place is one of the nations best.

One of the BEST haunts I have ever been to. We did this as a random visit, and we were not disappointed. Open on Thursdays (which is unique for the area), cheap (with discount coupons on Dunkin so be sure to stop there first!), and absolutely TERRIFYING. It was such a huge bang for the buck. Very long attractions made us wonder if it was ever going to end. It was like a non-stop assault on the senses with actors, animatronics, water, lights, sounds... Every room you enter makes you guess is that a real person?! So happy we stopped tonight. Will definitely be adding it to my list of future haunt adventures!!

What a waste of $50 bucks. Stood in line for over an hour. Bathrooms where so dirty they was actually scary unlike the rest of the place. We walked through the whole thing in a long slow single line of people. Only around 6 real actors in the whole place. The rest was like an old Halloween store. Moldy and dusty. They do have a warning sign if you have asthma not to go in. Please take that advice! If any thing was to jump out you saw it 2 or 3 times before you even got to it. 10/26/19We loved it. This is one of the best more well known haunted attractions in the Pittsburgh area. Google Maps directions led us straight to the parking lot. (Which was surprising.) It was slightly raining but no one seemed to care. There was at least a thousand people there when we arrived around ten p.m. We were directed by staff to the V.IP line after asking which one we could purchase tickets in. We waited in the V.I.P line for over an hour. Continually asking staff if we were in the correct line. We got to the front to go in and were asked for our tickets. Not having any we were told to go back purchase our tickets and wait in line all over. By then more people showed up and the line had literally trippled. I was very upset and said we had waited over an hour in line and asked numerous staff members if we were in the correct line. A female staff member at the very front of the entrance to the house who was dressed like a witch took us to the front of the ticket line, spoke to a manager I think his name was Fred or Frank (skinny and tall) .Oh well the awesome manager got our tickets and led us to the front of the line to go in. ( Thanks buddy that made our night). They were very courteous about the whole matter. And treated us well. The house itself was massive with different themed rooms and differnt ways to go. There is no tour guide to lead you through it so we got to explore and take as much time as we wanted within the whole house. House being and under statement. It was huge. It took my party of four about an hour walking at a normal pace to get through most of it. Im sure we missed something. It was by far the best haunted house Ive ever been to. They had music, food vendors, alcohol, a buried alive simulator and bathrooms (which were gross but still gave it 5 stars). Be sure to spend the extra couple bucks and upgrade to the V.I.P tickets. It was a long wait and it would have been trippled the wait time for general admission. No joke. They do allow children. I would say ten and up but its the parent or guardians discretion. I highly recommend this establishment. It was scary but absolutely enjoyable. We had really great time. Thank you to all the staff that made this a memorable experience.

The haunt is like something out of a movie set! Actors and makeup are TOP knotch! Its an amazing value! For one price you visit 6 total haunted areas, for a small extra charge there is also a maze and a buried alive experience. Parking is FREE and if you park in a lot a little further up there is a free hayride wagon that will take you right to the entrance. I wouldnt recommend it for little children, there is a lot of blood and Gore going on I there. And as I said the actors are very realistic! Heard this was the haunted house to try out and got really excited. Got there early and the line was already long. The set design was inclusive, bio hazard , zombies , aliens , demons , cults , chainsaw guy , and anything in-between and there was several good actors and actresses, but a lot of the set looked fake, which took the appeal away. The maybe got a one or two jump scares but most of those were predictable. Moral is , if you dont scare easily find somewhere else. This wont do it.

I’m new to Pittsburgh and this place has a lot of hype but overall, I was just disappointed. Don’t get me wrong, the scenes, special effects, and animatronics were very cool. So if you like that kind of stuff you might really enjoy this. They also gave you a free fun tshirt at the end. But that’s about the best I can say. We went on a week night and when we got there the line was very short. However we still ended up waiting for an hour and a half. The line attendant said they only run one elevator when there isn’t as many people. There were very few actors within the haunted house...which made it way less scary. There was no actor interaction in the lines like I have typically seen at other haunted houses. You had to pay an extra five bucks for a maze which was a waste of money. All it consisted of was wooden walls and a guy with a chain saw following you around. I’m typically one to startle easily and get a good scare out of haunted houses, but this one was just missing something. And I think that something was more actors.

Says on website that it is rated one of the best haunted attractions. Definitely not the impression I got when I went last night. Field of screams is better in my opinion. Paid extra money for VIP still waited in line for an hour. Advertised as 6 attractions and it was just one big attraction. Not very many actors, and they sent people in large groups which gave away when people people were going to jump out of you and kept getting stopped through out the attraction, I was not scared once. It was a nice set up but I feel as though I was ripped off paying extra for VIP and the falsely advertise multiple attractions. Reading through the other reviews I see I am not the only one who feels this way and no one who runs this responds or tries to make anything better. Dont waste your time and money here. Actors were very lack luster and there was very few of them. They rely mostly on animatronics for scares which just don’t get the same reaction of fear like actors do. Actors rely on pop scares and loud sounds for scares instead of chilling performances. All in all a well done haunt but it doesn’t pack the scares that it should. Some of their emergency exit doors were open also.

Review №74

Ive been coming here for longer than I can remember. Have brought lots of friends and always enjoyed it. Its sad its gone down hill. Theyre definitely overselling 6 attractions The elevator from Noahs ark is part of an attraction. Not an attraction. I was also very sad to see the maze is now a separate cost. It used to he where we would have fun looking for the way out and discussing the scares. Oh. Since those are gone, guess thats not needed. There definitely appeared to be a staffing shortage. I understand theyre all volunteer, but after reading their volunteer page, I completely understand. Read it. I wouldnt gather 15 of my organizations people to volunteer for $150 donation. Especially since it seemed there were only about 20 actors.(Cost is $23. Slow night estimate ~1,000 people. $23,000 a night to donate $150?) This is also the ONLY section of their website that references any charitable giving. I thought they used to donate all proceeds to charity. The actors that were there were good. Sorry, nothing about you, just not enough. Probably a pretty bad night for all of you too.A major problem with haunted houses is timing. For the first half hour we were in line outside, we barely moved. We thought VIP was maybe holding it up. So then, the line really started to move. Went from standing basically in the first of 4 line sections for half an hour to making it to the door in 15 minutes. Shouldve been a red flag. My opinion is they opened the doors late so we were actually just moving up as people moved closer together, then they flooded it. The first two parts had decent scares but fairly straightforward pathways that really did encourage free flowing walking and decent scares. The farther you get inside the more complex the rooms and paths in the room get. Sounds great in theory right? Nope. If you dont balance the rooms that slow people down with actors to slow them down or move them along, you get the kill factor(pun intended) for a haunted house. The line after the line. We went at a modest pace, the group behind us caught up. We let them pass. We then caught up to every single group in front of us. Then, every single group behind us caught up. So, we completed the last half of the haunt single file, not scared at all just wanting to leave. Wanna know how bad it was, the 6 yo behind me kept telling every actor that tried jumping out youre not scary and you need help. I also laughed as his mother was telling him it was more expensive because they skipped the lineIn my head, I was just thinking well, youre waiting in line now.Skip the food stand. I saw they had some nice looking hot dogs, nice and plump. I love me a food stand hot dog. I was there only shortly after dusk and they served me a hot dog that looked left over from the previous night especially when I could see the others. This is a 1 star review. The second star is a bonus for past performance but does not guarantee future results.

One of the best haunted houses Ive ever been to. Im a fellow haunt actress myself and I loved this haunt. I went to the Light out event tonight and I was very impressed. From the very start I loved the dialogue the woman in the cage had and then the guy that took you in the elevator. I was not expecting that elevator at all and I will leave it at that without spoiling anything. Very great dialogue from him as well. It took me quite awhile to get through this haunt which I loved and also they spaced the groups a great bit. Makeup, props, actors, animatronics were all superb. First of all, we waited an hour and a half which at first I was okay with considering it seemed they were spacing the groups out so there would be no conga lines but that was not the case within the first 10 minutes of the walkthrough which then ruined all the “scares” for us. Which then brings up my next point, there were 19 actors within the entire house! NINETEEN!!! I have been to way way WAY smaller attractions with more actors than that. I will say the sets are stunning with detail and I did appreciate them very much but instead of having a thousand animatronics, some more actors would be highly appreciated since they are the ones that actually scare people. One of the best haunted houses in the area, great actors and costumes, awesome scenes. Will go again, entrance was a little confusing if you parked in the satellite parking lot.

I give this place 2 starts because of the incredible wait time. The set design and props are good but this place is not equipped to handle the hype it has set up for itself. While visually amazing it pours forth nothing I havent seen 100x before. Extreme... I think not.

We went in a group of six. Bought vip tickets online and all. We got their around 6:40 so right before opening. Place was already decently filled with people. Took around half hour to forty-five after opening for us to get to the house. Once inside start was good. We had room between us and the group that was sent before us. However once we got through the first two sections the groups behind us and in front had become basically a haunted house assembly line of people. All the scars become almost point less because you could see the group ahead as they got scared. We where extremely disappointed in how fast they are sending groups through. They do not have a proper set up or process for the people who pay EXTRA for the vip to not wait in line as Long as general admission but instead you pay extra and its one group general goes then a vip group goes. Which makes the wait basically the same even though you Pay Extra to not wait as longThey are getting too big n are not keeping up with the art of running a true hunted house

Overpriced, overcrowded and horribly managed. Waited in line for an overly hyped up scare house that rushed groups through. Had over 12 people in a row shuffling through the scare house like prisoners. Not to mention we was there at 9 had tickets for the scare house and maze. Left the scare house at 11:28 and was told we werent able to do the maze. Would give negative stars but not allowed.

It was okay. We did the vip this year to skip the line and it was worth it. Not enough space given in between groups creates a bus load of traffic piling through and ruins the experience. You get forced to deal with other peoples annoying kids pointing out every person trying to scare you around the corner like they have Jesus vision. I had the same experience last year.

Went opening night. Nothing over the top or scary and very little actual actors. Does have potential but for $160 i wish my 9 month old would have atleast got scared and cried. Nice sets and house but will go elsewhere for now on.

It was awesome, hits every genre of horror. The actors are great and the detail in the sets is amazing. Definitely one of the better haunted houses Ive been too

We bought our tickets online and got there early. Still had to wait an hour and a half which would have been ok if it was worth it. Yes, they had great decorations and great ambiance to the rooms. Yes, they had alot of different themes to walk thru. And yes, the creatures were scary looking ... if they were working. Some did, but It seemed like there were alot of statutes that didnt do anything! No animatronics! And there were barely ANY actors! Youd go thru room after room with no body in them. If u like more actors and a more scary/startled feeling Id go somewhere else for the money. Like I said, it wasnt worth it.
