Love this park. Well built. Gets pretty packed on the weekends.
Definitely a old school geared skatepark. Easy ride bowls and a metal half pipe!
Smooth concrete nice little park, the county police may harass you if your not wearing a helmet.
I really enjoy this park. It is my favorite out of the three concrete parks in the region that I am familiar with. The transitions are all very thoughtfully designed and the flow is great in both of the bowls. I like that they actively enforce keeping spectators out of the park - no soccer moms in flip-flops pushing their kids around on toy skateboards. Its spacious enough that I dont feel like bikes are an issue. They lack a few standard obstacles like a funbox or proper launch ramp or pyramid, but its OK, because the space is used very efficiently. There is a small almost vert ramp - I say small because its not a massive vert ramp like youd find at Woodward or anything, and despite what the locals claim it really does not quite hit vert. Its definitely the biggest halfpipe Ive seen in this area though and it will be intimidating to most people so thats a cool bonus. More parking than skatepark so no need to worry about that. Absolutely gotta have a helmet or youll get kicked out fast most days. My only real criticism is that the bowls are both designed East/West so the sun will become an issue at the end of the day. I think this is an older park, though, so that can be forgiven.
If youre into transition this is a good place, but thats not my thing.
Awesome park!
I love South Park
The kids had a lot of fun
Its a awesome place to race, I have made many good memories here
Love it
Cool nugget in South Hills. The park is a good place to exercise.
Nice park hopefully they can keep it from getting trashed. The equipment is starting to look neglected
As others have said, it gets busy here but its worth hanging around. There are a lot of friendly people willing to give advice. I rarely see anyone using the half pipe.
Its fun but little kids are always hogging the bowl.
Smooth, box rail, dope! #Thrasher
Its a really good skate park it has so many things to do there is a BMX track to and a big halfpipe
Good park, something for everyone and world class bmx track right next to it.
The little section is great for learning tricks. The larger bowl is kinda tight and takes a bit to learn your lines. This was my first time there and I was the only one there. I would imagen seeing the locals Rio it would have helped.
Skatepark near my house!!! Maybe a little rugged but nice to have. Broke my rib here lol
They need to either build another skatepark or build the one now better cause the bowls dont flow and coping is destroyed and you guys put in a huge half pipe and ive been going there for 7 years and i still hate the coping and the transition
Do they still have a helmet rule? that is overzealous and makes the park kind of dumb because very few skilled boarders or bikers prefer to wear helmets. I know this deters a lot of people from the park
A great skatepark to learn at but gets alittle busy
Slowly become McKinley 2... prob use an upgrade but highly doubtful they would put money into it
Nice to bring your kids
Gets busy at times but all and all a good park
Great skate park!
