16th St. Theater is a great performing arts group & venue for live play performances. It is an intimate venue with nice amenities & always great performances. That have a new location in the works, but I really like the current location.

Great little 60 seat theater with some phenomenal talent working here. We saw the opening night for Xmas Cuento Remix. Fun retelling of Scrooge with a Latina twist.

The production- In His Shadow- was done quite well, and it carried a powerful, relevant message. The actors, three in all, did a great job making their various roles believable. I enjoyed it.

This is an amazing little theater. The productions are professional, sophisticated and quite artistic. The subject of the plays span many cultures, lifestyles and relevant topics of society. Often educational, influencing and evoking a full gambit of emotions from the audience, these works are those of substance. Everyone involved in the theater: artistic director, playwrites, actors, box office staff and many others are welcoming, approachable and inclusive. Its always surprising that such quality works are provided to the patrons at such an incredible value. Dont miss out on this gem!!

Recently saw The Art Of Disappearing. A fantastic play from the writing to the acting. This play should be on Broadway. The theater is small and intimate. Not a bad seat in the house. For someone used to paying in the 80s and up for tickets this is a dream at under $20.00 a ticket. We will be going back soon

Saw Harbour Gate last night. One of the best pieces of theater Ive seen in a long time. Dont let the small space fool you -- 16th Street is a gem!

We go to three theaters. Shakespeare, Steppenwolf, and 16th Street. 16th St. may be our favorite!

16th Street & artistic director Ann Filmer create stories that make us think, feel and helps us figure out who we want to be. Isnt that the best kind of art? I cannot wait til the next play.

Smaller, intimate theatre running strong, avant gard productions of social, moral, civic, personal and psychological plays reflecting current issues of our times. Simpler sets, capable actors, non dismissible writing conveyed in tangible, disturbing, lifting, and moving scenes.

The one person play we attended wasMuthaland written and performed by Minita Gandhi. Remember her name, she also plays Dr. Prospere on Chicago Fire, shes a real talent. The theater is small, quaint and unpretentious and seats 50.

Play was unoriginal and painted Mexicans with the broad brush of being uneducated. I left 15 minutes into the show.
