Not difficult to get to at all, just enter the temple gates and youll see the long lines that have started to form since 10am! The food available is split into a vegetarian queue and a meat queue, the dishes are mostly the same except with the addition of meat. I enjoyed the food but some of it was simply too salty! You could taste the parts where salts been added and not mixed properly. Rice with two dishes is 8 tokens ($8). The mango sticky rice was sold out sadly but we got this coconut dessert with fillings that was really delicious (8 tokens too). The thai ice tea was canned and nothing special (2 tokens). Id come by for the dessert and when Im craving curry, but probably not again.

Went to their Sunday brunch today and will definitely be coming back for more. Got some of their super tasty beef broth soup, my partner got their chicken plate with egg rolls, and our friend got the Pad Thai plate. We shared their mango and sticky rice for dessert.. all bomb-dot-com.Great community atmosphere as well. Bumped into some friends we hadnt seen in a while which added to the community feel

They dont have a real sanctuary yet. Kind of a commercial Enterprise. They primarily thrive on their Sunday food market. A school for language and culture is important and valuable. The weekday rituals are less welcoming to non-Thais. Sunday is open to all.

Their brunch event every Sunday is the only place I’ve been able to find authentic beef and pork noodle soup like I’ve found in Thailand. It comes with pork meatballs, lean slices of pork and beef, and delicious chunks of celery and other vegetables plus your choice of thin, medium, or thick rice noodles. The broth is clean and wholesome, a little different from Vietnamese and Chinese soups. More sweet + savory mixed together. They also have Thai iced tea, all sorts of rice dishes, and coconut milk dessert. It’s just like the street food in Thailand! Cash only.

It’s a fun place to visit on a Sunday morning where you’re not feeling rushed. They give generous portions for the price. What makes this place unique is the experience of using tokens, and eating out like how you would in Thailand. The food is unlike what you would find in other Thai restaurants and is definitely reminiscent of Thailand. While it’s not the best Thai food I’ve had in the Bay, it’s still solid for the price point and experience! Plus everyone is incredibly kind.

Sunday Thai Temple is always delicious. It goes from 10am-1pm or so, but come early as food does run out fast. Id get there at 10am when it opens to exchange cash for tokens and get in line for food. The items range from $7-$10 and they are generous on the portions. I go here when I crave the beef noodles. Cant find these noodles anywhere!

Pleasant Thai Buddhist temple. Main chapel plus Kuan Yin side chapel. Every Sunday morning theres a breakfast with a good variety of home-cooked & fancy food that serves as a fund-raiser for the temple. Its not cheap, but neither is it particularly expensive—good value for the quantity & quality of food, plus its a fundraiser. The temple runs a Thai language, music, & dance Sunday school for kids in the local Thai Buddhist community. There are Sunday performances a few times a year.

The Berkeley Thai Breakfast is an institution. You cant live here for any length of time within the going at least once for the raucous Sunday morning feast. Be warned, though: the line moves sub-snails pace. If you get there after 10:15 or 10:30 am, youre most likely going to be in line for 45-60 minutes. And be prepared to sit on the Berkeley public library lawn or in the park across the street, as seating is limited.

My friends who went to Cal took me here when we hung out in Berkeley over a weekend. It is a Thai temple that offers a delicious buffet on Sunday mornings.Come early, as they do restrict people from entering after a certain time. Apparently, the staff are not allowed to handle money. So, you have to buy tokens and then redeem them for food or drinks. They have plenty of seating on picnic tables. This is a perfect family friendly spot for Sunday lunch.

This is a wonderful unique brunch experience where you can enjoy authentic Thai food to support the temples cultural program. Hundreds of people come here every Sunday. You will feel like youve been transported to the food stalls of an Asian night market.First, you have to trade your money ($10-$20) for tokens. Once you are armed with tokens, you can use your token to order food at the food stalls. There are many to choose from. Lines are long after 11am so its a good idea to come with a group to divide and conquer the lines. My absolute favorites are:+ savory mini-coconut hot cakes+ steamy beef noodle soup that you can spice up with condiments+ papaya salad+ roasted pumpkin+ yellow chicken curry+ fried thai chicken with sticky rice with thai dipping sauce+ mango sticky rice with coconut custard+ thai ice teaTips: If you dont use all your tokens, you can trade them back for dollars.Get the mango sticky rice to-go if you are stuffed from all the amazing food. :)

This is one of the more unusual (but rewarding) Sunday brunch options in the area. If you have a hard time dealing with chaotic situations, be sure to have your coffee before you get there, since youll be facing big crowds and several lines on nice days. The dining arrangements are county fair style. First you have to wait in line to change your dollars into tokens. Then you wait in one line for the main food, another line for drinks, and yet another for desserts. After that, you take your food to several picnic tables nearby, or maybe on the lawn in the front of the building. (Tip: explore around the sides of the building if its crowded, you may find some hidden tables.) The food can be spicy, so get something to drink, or take the edge off with some of their delicious mango sticky rice.

Wat Mongkolratanaram, A.K.A. Thai Buddhist Temple, is a refreshing Thai brunch Berkeley has to offer. They usually open up at 10am; I recommend coming at 9:45am so you can at least get your tokens and look at what is there to offer. How it works is you get tokens and you get tokens the same way you would go to an old-school arcade. There is a booth to give your money [CASH ONLY] to someone and in exchange you receive tokens, one dollar to one token ($1 = 1 token).I saved myself 10 seconds because I had left over tokens from the last time I went. Today I went really early, 9:30am and the lady said they opened up early today. I got:2-item combination (includes rice): Beef panang and pad Thai = 7 tokensCurry Puffs (4 in a box) = 4 tokensThai Tea = 2 tokensFried taro (2) and cinnamon Kanom Krok (6) = 6 tokensTOTAL: 19 tokens = $19This was a lot of food, really made for sharing; I say go big or go home. The beef panang has basil, has coconut milk, and is spicy which went super well with the rice. The pad Thai wasnt as flavorful as I remember last time and also compared to last time they didnt fill my box all the way. The Thai teas was on point as well as the fried taro. The taro was perfectly fried and it was the perfect ending to my meal. The kanom krok was still goopy when I got it, they barely opened, and I dont know if its suppose to be like that or cooked all the way; it was still good. The curry puff is an overlooked appetizer which I feel people need to give it a chance. Of course it cant beat the egg roll right next to it. The curry puff has potato, carrots, and I think onion mixed in with curry. It was a hearty -Thai - empanada appetizer. Im super glad I tried it, reminds me of a masala dosa. There is so much to choose from like curries, vegetarian options, and soups. Its a nice breakfast/brunch to start anyones Sundays. If you do come around noon and later expect to be patient with parking. Since the temple is near a residential area it can be hard to find parking, especially since they have a service before they open, that is my guessing because it was already packed when I pulled up. I also want to emphasize its CASH ONLY. If you want to eat you need tokens, to get tokens you need money and when I mean money I mean CASH. Its tokens because from what I heard its because what they serve cannot be exchanged with money so they have this loop hole. Anywhoo, worth the experience and the amount of yummy-in-your-tummy food. Happy eating!!
