This is like your best friends house - casual, friendly and always entertaining. The intimacy provides a much different, and in some ways better, experience than going into the City or even Broadway. If you are any type of patron of the arts, this is a must go. Also - loved Dry Powder.

Terrific small theater. Consistently good to excellent performances (including the current Master Harold and the Boys by Fugard). With a thrust stage and always careful blocking, hardly a bad seat in the house (although the seats at our near the bottom of the U are the best).

Great venue. No more than four rows away from the stage. Great casting and everything from the classics to avant-garde. And with all the really good places to eat in the area it always makes for an excellent evening.

An interesting alternative to the nearby Berkeley Repertory Theatre. The productions are more modest, but they can take more chances because of it.

A great, local Berkeley theatre company presenting original productions of plays and musicals. Situated next door to Berkeley Repertory, the Aurora Theatre Company has one mid-size thrust theatre and one black box theatre.
