This place is awesome!!!! The guy we talked to is totally excited about tropical fish. Very knowledgeable. The store is packed wall to wall. Huge selection. Tanks are super clean, fish are healthy. Dont expect cheap big box factory farm fish, you will lay down some cash. Classic case of you get what you pay for. We drove up from Klamath to get ours here, couldnt be happier.

One of our employees had stopped at several pet stores on her way to Petco. To see if anyone local (we try to go small instead of big chains whenever possible) would have turtles.She asked the guy up front if they carried turtles. He told her at length that no one in the area had turtles for pets. And that having a turtle was inhumane and irresponsible. Describing an awful crippling life a turtle would have trapped inside a glass cage unable to swim freely and explore the world naturally. The negativity and bizzaro nonsense went on for several minutes. Issues with the turtles noses and access to water etc. While we stood looking at fish in glass tanks?!As we left the store my she was holding back tears. I was holding back telling guy to go fly a kite. It was the worst shopping experience we have had in Central Oregon. This is a photo of her flying a kite. NOT the old fish store

Aquatopia is my go to place for all our fish and pond needs. I have received so many great suggestions and guidance from Brad and his staff on how to keep my pond and koi fish healthy and well maintained. (My favorite suggested product is the barley extract- works great!). Everyone Ive encountered at aquatopia has been friendly and helpful. When we had a pond emergency, they went out of their way to help us keep our fish safe and guided us on repairing the problem. So glad to have Aquatopia in town!

The shop owner and any other employees have been so incredibly helpful, patient, and knowledgeable! Ive been keeping FW tanks for 20ish years and I usually go into a shop already knowing exactly what I want and what I need for the best set up. However, the staff here are knowledgeable enough I feel like I dont even have to do my own research, they have always given me amazing advice or information from plants to invertebrates!

I was very impressed by the breadth of knowledge that the 2 employees I talked to possessed. They are friendly, have a great variety of fish and I get the feeling all of their fish are well taken care of. Not sure if the need a bigger place, more employees or need to do a little spring cleaning because every space is occupied with something. However, thats not enough to keep me from going to them exclusively from now on.Overall, GREAT place.Note* spring cleaning must have recently been done, looks much better

Not only is Aquatopia beyond helpful with every question that I had coming in, they made me feel comfortable to ask anything fish related I had been wondering. and the entire time no one put me in a position where I felt I had to buy anything. Quit googling your fish issues and ask a real person. Im so grateful for them and I believe anyone looking to get any kind of aquarium stet up to stop here first. Not only do they have all the supplies youll need but there is also more than enough inspiration for any kind of aquascaping you might be planning. In fact, even if youre not thinking of getting a fish you should stop here. Far and away my favorite store in Bend.

They were just as nice to me when I was setting up my craigslist super cheap aquarium as they were when I bought a Fluval tank and a few more expensive fish from them. I can imagine with all the internet informed aquarium starters like myself they answer the same questions on repeat all day, every day... but they are always awesome about it. Their fish are healthy, and while they might be a dollar or two more... their advice has saved me a bundle. The cut your own carbon filters probably saved me $50 last year alone.

I love Aquatopia. I live in Redmond but I make a trip to Bend almost every week to browse all the new fish and plants. It might be slightly more expensive on some products compared to Petco or Petsmart, but chain pet stores are known for sick fish, bad advice, and all they want is to make a sale. They have an amazing plant selection too, and they always share their own experiences with different plants and what they need to grow properly.As for livestock, Ive never bought a sick fish from here. Theyre all healthy and well cared for, Ive never had a death shortly after buying from Aquatopia. I went to petco one time and bought some cherry shrimp and they all died. The guy who netted them out of the tanks manhandled the hell out of them too.If you want quality advice and products, go to Aquatopia! Theyre wonderful :)

This is a great store! They always have a vast selection of fish, plants and knowledgeable and friendly staff who are always super helpful. They have helped me troubleshoot an algea bloom, offer free water testing, taken unwanted baby platties, and more. I will continue to purchase fish and supplies from this local shop.

Stopped in for a visit and to pass time by with my daughter was told they had a great selection of fish (which was not the truth, but could be for that area).The lady I had to deal with was invasive and rude.Their knowledge comes right from google. They are not experts. Any one can have a fish tank and be successful with it.She denied me on a few fish i wanted. I had to ask, What kind of fish WILL you sell me.I wont be going back. My family that goes in there to get fish tell the people lies, so they will sell them the fish they want.My tank is a good size, awesome and my fish are extremely healthy. As well as my brothers tank who has a much bigger tank than mine.

Best pond supply and helpful knowledge in central oregon

I went by this shop while on vacation in Bend (from Salem) and was pleasantly surprised. They are in the process of expanding their saltwater selection so the coral selection was small but absolutely beautiful. I purchased several pieces and the owner packaged them nicely for travel. All pieces made it home safely and have responded immediately to my tank. Thank you so much for the knowledge you shared and the beautiful additions. Im excited to come back next time!!

The first time I entered Aquatopia, I was blown away by the beautiful displays they have and the variety of aquatic life for sale there. I’m currently putting an aquarium in my workplace and the staff helped me get all the necessities and explain how to set up the tank. This is definitely now my go-to for all things fishy haha. 5 stars for sure.

I’ve gotten lots of fish from this store as well as a gecko when they were carrying reptiles. The staff are extremely friendly and their fish are healthy as well. Fish there are a little more $ than in a bigger store like petco but it’s worth it for healthy fish that don’t die before you get them home.I have only a single complaint and most other people on here seem to agree that often times their fish seem slightly over priced. For example neon tetras are 99¢ at petsmart but 2.50$ at this store, I know it doesn’t seem like a lot of difference but when you buy 6 neon tetras for 15$ when you could’ve gotten 15 fish for the same price it’s kind of frustrating. They are family owned so it’s understandable but I wish I could get healthy fish that fit my budget. My 55 gallon is way under stocked because I can’t actually afford to get a larger school of fish at a time.

Tiffany and family are BEYOND helpful and take the time to answer any and all questions, no matter how novice (stupid) they may sound. I am a begginer tank owner and was completely overwhelmed trying to set up and start a 55 gallon. She walked me through start to finish even though there were other patrons in the shop. Beautiful set up, lots of pretty fish and other animals to look at. I have found myself eagerly anticipating the next time I can go back in. Forget the big box stores! If you have a tank, Aquatopia needs to be in your life!Brian L

This place is my go to supply store for everything aquarium related. Im not too big on ordering fish online so its nice to be able to go to a local business and pick up what Im looking for. Also, if they dont have what I want they will often place what I want on their next order. Impressive wide variety of fish. Lots of supplies on hand and affordable used aquariums. Enjoy the fact that they are willing to exchange fish for credit within reason. Very friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend, especially over large retail fish stores.

I love coming here. The store is always nice and clean. The fish tanks are not only clean, but the fish are always very active, and I have never gotten a sick fish from this store. Its definitely not your typical fish store. Every time I walk in I am greeted by a great family who knows me by name. This is your go to spot for your aquarium needs. Locally owned with great staff; Tiffany and Brad have always been very cordial and knowledgeable when it comes to my fresh water aquarium needs. Definitely worth stopping by just to check out the wide variety of fresh water and salt water fish! They have things you will not see in any major pet supplier.

Everyone is incredibly friendly and they know what theyre doing. They never push anything on you when youre looking for something and they always offer cheaper alternatives if youre strapped for cash and cant afford something! Prices are always reasonable and fair especially for their fish. If I could give them a 10/10 I would but well just have to settle for 5 Stars.
