Handicap accessible playground, pavilion, walking paths, docks, A fountain and of course the famous Paul and Babe statue. Several events are held here each year including art in the park and the dragon boat festival. Live music events can be found during the summer, sometimes including a beer tent. The city info center is in the midst of it all making it a hub for tourists and locals alike.

All good over there. Clean and people were out and about. Just not happy with the people walking around unmasked, while kids played in the park area. Figures...not worried about the kids. Im a wear a mask person. Protecting others and trting to protect myself because COVID is real. Back to Paul & Babe...always a great place to visit...nice photos!!!

Wonderful area, wonderful memories of visiting relatives there. Paul Bunyon and Babe the blue ox were huge when I was a kid back in the 50s but even now I had to stretch up to grab his hand on 7/3/2020 ! Im 63 and will be 70 in a few days. Guess what? Both Paul and Babe are still huge!! A must see especially for the kids. A beautiful area youll want to return to!

What a trip down memory lane!!I faintly remember visiting as a youngster with my parents years ago.. and although the statues dont seem nearly as gigantic as they did then, they are still just as iconic. So nice to see them maintained so well and I love the addition of the metal sculptures nearby. Its been more than thirty years since I was here last. The park that now surrounds these statutes is extraordinary. Clean. Open. Beautiful scenery. And, they even have a visitors center with all the brochures youd ever want. The fireplace and its history are uniquely amazing. Gary was the employee on duty while we were there. He was personable, relaxed, informative, and helpful. Other than Paul and Babe, Gary was the other star.

The statues were kind of cool but right down the road there were native American statues and I felt like Paul bunion and babe being the focal point for this city is a shame and white washes the history of lake Bemidji.

Bemidji is my home town and we are known for our Paul and Babe statues! I think theyre a wonderful attraction that is a great focal point for our waterfront. One of the few gripes I have about the area surrounding the statues is that when the park was remodeled, they filled a massive area with grey cement slabs. I feel it really dulls the appeal of the statues and makes the area quite bland. I would love to see some brick or color added to the area. Perhaps a ground mural of some sort, or redo the area in brick patterns. It really detracts from the experience.
