Excellent place to visit with family, hands on with everything and educational. Learn about reptiles, hawks, owls and more. great gift shop, very friendly staff. definitely recommend to anyone from young to old. They also have a program where they can bring reptiles to your facility or school and teach you about them.

Fantastic place for a quick visit. Lots of hands on activities from rabbits to reptiles and some interesting science stuff that may be better suited for adolescents.

Puzzles, animals, projects, fun science stuff and all interactive for kids. This is a great place to bring little ones for an after noon of fun.

We had a wonderful time. Jake was patient and kind to our girls and was willing to bring out almost any animal for them to hold. They loved the snakes. The other exhibits were hands on and challenging. Don’t miss this if you bring children to Bemidji.

Unbelievable staff and space! My family stopped in expecting an hour of fun and ended up staying for over 4 hours. Staff took time to answer everything the kids or adults asked.

I love this place and so do my kids 1 & 4. They love holding the snakes and lizards and all of the fun science stuff to play with and do. The staff are great! Always super knowledgeable and kind. My kids are entertained for hours when time allows.

Great science museum. While it is not large younger kids will find things to do for many hours here. In addition to science experiments the have several animals such as fish, snakes, turtles, and a bunny.

Its so nice to have a place to go with the kids that is indoors. They have fun, learn, and challenge their minds in creativity and problem solving. The staff brings out animals for the children to pet. The staff is always ready to answer questions about the exhibits. All of the exhibits can be done with parent and child interaction.

The kids loved the variety of hands on activities and being able to hold the snakes. They did a great job with the setup of the stations and had good explanations of the scientific principle that is being experience.

Great interactive and educational activities. Kids 3-12 will particularly like it. Theres also plenty to learn for teenagers and adults. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Parking is plentiful, including for oversized vehicles.

Great little science museum in bemidji. Part of science museum passport program, so if member if your local science museum, be sure to check it out - it is free. Lots to see and touch, a bit more interactive with the reptiles, you can hold various animals as they are displayed.

A wonderful place to bring the kids (and yourselves) for the afternoon or morning. My two grandchildren went in different directions, but both were helped and guided through the exhibits by the Science Museums wonderful staff.

A great place to bring kids young and old who are at all interested in Hands-On science. This small place has a lot of interactive displays, a large bubble making machine, bicycle tires mounted with hand grips so you can test out gyroscopic effect, an echo tube, and a saltwater tank with sea anemones and other saltwater fish that can be kept in a reasonably sized tank.

Kids always enjoy this place. They even got to hold some of the animals last time. Well worth the trip and a perfect place to be, especially when rained out at the lake.

Such a great place to explore and learn in a hands on environment. Recently renovated, and a few new exhibits made our last trip fresh and fun. Staff even spontaneously brought out some of the reptiles!

This place was great. A wonderful way to spend an afternoon, learning and laughing with the kids. GREAT STAFF!

This is one of the best places for children and young teens to be in Bemidji. They have so much to do, and for kids in 4-H and/or FIRST Lego League it can really begin to feel like a second home.Lots of good memories to be made here if you havent yet brought your children there, but keep in mind its not a classy establishment.

This place is great! So much exploring and great hands on experience. The kids and the adults loved it.

A gem in the north woods. Great interactive displays and a friendly staff. Live animals (snakes, turtles, tortoises) which the staff are more than happy to bring out for kids to handle and touch.

Interactive for kids learning

If you live in Bemidji, and you have younger children, this is a great place to go in the colder months. The children can spend many hours here while Dad relaxes upstairs reading. The staff is expert at capturing the imagination of the younger children, and there are many exhibits for ages from toddler to teens.

We have had a Family Membership here for a couple years. It is a great place to bring your kids, especially in the winter. There are lots of activities, exhibits, and animals. There is stuff for kids of all ages and its pretty entertaining for adults as well.

Very poor communication with the public. I have left multiple phone, email and Facebook messages regarding the donation of frozen feeder animals for the reptiles and have never been given the courtesy of a reply.My 11 yr old attended Camp Invention there and was thrilled to go again when she got the invite in the mail. Apparently, HSC is no longer offering the program anymore. Very disappointed. Its not cheap either!Things were much better when Chris was the director. Its disappointing.

Great for little kids,not so much for the bigger kids.they remodel frequently.the staff us mostly around and helpful.just the reptile corner could use some touch ups.like the dead frog?yes please get rid of the cuban tree frog that youre not being honedt about him being dead.and be more gentle with your leopard geckos.theyre young and dont pick them up by the ribs or when theyre sleeping.
