This course is so bad... Just horrible. Stay away absolutely dismal conditions.

We last played Cross Creek four years ago. The course conditions were a bit improved but the recent tropical storms have left their mark. Some areas were still soggy from rain and we played 90/90 to protect the fairways. This had a small impact on pace of play but we still finished in about 4.5 hours. The course layout is fun to play with flat, water hazard laden, front nine and a hilly back nine. Greens were fast but playable but hole placement made staying below the pin imperative. The facility has suffered a bit over time with some wear and tear and the dining area/snack bar are tucked behind a maze of hallways.Still, a worthwhile visit.

Nice club house for hosting birthdays, banquets, or other social gatherings. Plenty parking space, great location. I would give across Creek 5 stars if the landscaping was properly maintained with care.

This is a golf course that will test your ability to strategically play. Most holes are quite tight and require you to hit a good tee shot in order to score. Course has been in excellent despite the constant rain and heat combination. If you want to challenge yourself no matter your handicap, this is a perfect course for you!

This place really deserves 0 stars. The course itself is a fun layout. I played here a few years ago and it was in very good shape. I played here on Monday, 9/18/17, and the course was in the worst shape of any course I have ever seen. It looks like they pretty much have given up on maintenance. We have had a mild summer with plenty of rain. There is no excuse for any course to not be in great shape right now. I cant imagine this place will still be open in a year.

Recently played this course and was disappointed in the course conditions honestly. This isnt a top ten track in the area but has been a good secondary option throughout the years. I called directly and spoke to management regarding my experience and they assured me they were working to correct it and blamed prior management and the weather in the process. I will verify conditions before playing here again most likely but am hopeful they get it back to its old form.

The course conditions have come a long way, but treatment of community residents could truly use an upgrade. The course is located inside of our community but some staff members appear to view community members more as pests than patrons. Hats off to Jane for all she does, but the grounds management could take an etiquette class or two. I cannot have people walking around our grounds, because this is a private property. I know you may understand, but if I let you walk your puppy, I will need to let everyone. Keeping the Indian and Korean ladies off is already a problem. Thank you. Nice little quote from the groundskeeper. Good luck!

This course is in bad shape. It looks neglected. I spoke with the pro shop and was told the golf course is built on a quarry so hot summers affect the grass causing it to die. The greens had a lot of dirt patches to navigate around and the fairways a mix of rock and clay. The bunkers were not maintained. All this could be due to the time of year but I would call to ask about conditions before throwing money at this course. Good news is, when I ask about the course after 9 holes the pro shop told me I saved at least $10 because of the condition. She didnt realize I wasted $40 for the very same reason. Save your money go elsewhere for now at least.

Course is in good condition and has a fairly quick pace of play. The range is Irons Only. Cant speak to drainage conditions. This course is extremely tight and challenging for those, like myself, who have a tendency to shank the ball off the tee. Its a nice, short course but definitely not good for a beginner. Novices should be fine for most of the round but may have some challenges here and there Id estimate that approximately 50% of the course has a fairly wide open fairway while the other 50% is medium tight or just a bit wider than tight. My only complaint on conditions would probably go to the bunkers. Theyre in need of a new layer of sand and grooming. I dont believe many of them had rakes either (some did though). Our two-some was paired with a random couple and the husband ended up denting a club when he connected with a rock trying to get out of the trap. If I were him I probably wouldve risen a stink over it as it blended in and wasnt necessarily easy to notice.Overall, the course is great based off of the price alone. My round was $36 for greens fees and cart. In my short golfing-in-the-DMV life, that price really cant be beat. If they fixed the bunkers up I think Id be able to give it a 5 for combination of challenge, price/value, and course maintenance.**NOTE: Hole 14 is currently under repair. Im excited to see how it looks once its done, but as of this review it is currently green only so youre chipping on and putting only.**

Fairways and greens are poorly maintenance. The course is in a beautiful area and has severals challenging holes that make it attractive like hole 14 and 15... I hope can fix the course...

Played back nine. Conditions werent that bad. Rough was thick, and fairways looked like they were just cut, and grass clippings left behind added to some difficulty hitting the ball well.

Great layout, but the course is in terrible shape. Bare spots on the fairways and greens. Bunkers are overgrown with weeds. What grass they do have is burnt.

Bad experience. Hole 13 or 14 was still under renovation. When hitting off the fairway on that hole I realized I was hitting on top of rocks and pebbles. Fairway higher than expected, rough was terrible. Random huge hole marked by cones on one hole but wasnt mentioned when I walked in to check in earlier in the day. For the price, it wasnt worth it. Has the potential to be good though but needs major work.

WARNING:IF THE STAR RATING HAD MINUS NUMBERS, CROSS CREEK WOULD GET A MINUS 10 Do not play this course, actually I would not play again if they paid me $100. it is so bad I will never play again, even with the $30 fee and a free replay coupon I would not go back. Owners should be ashamed at calling this a golf course. Horrible conditions, burned out, weeds, uncut fairways, greens that should be blown up, not rolled, not cut. How is it that they are even still open for business. I hope you all understand that this review was honest, but I held back my real thoughts since I prefer to keep from using foul language. DO NOT PLAY, THIS PLACE SUCKS WIND.

Cross Creek was the pits! I played this track for the first time 7/21/2013 and undoubtedly the last. The fairways were awful. There were huge bare burned out spots, patches of crab grass and large low spots holding standing water. I could not decide if a wildfire went through the place or a flood. As an added bonus, clumps of uncut grass, about 8 high, were strategically placed throughout the course. One of the fairways was actually closed, apparently for a while, because they have set up a driving range mat about 20 years from the green. Why they closed this particular fairway is a mystery to me because they are all bad. The bunkers were a mess. Sand was hard, mixed with clay and compressed Many with crabgrass growing in them. I could not tell when the last time they were raked, but apparently the superintendant could not be bothered with such trivial matters when the rest of the course in such bad shape. The greens were in equally poor condition, bare spots, hard and filled with unfixed pitch marks. The layout of the course stinks. Tee to green distances were quite long because the course is shoehorned in between a bunch of cookie cutter houses (anyone living in this neighborhood must have trouble picking out their house at night). The fairways are tight with dense briar patches surrounding. The rough is largely composed of crabgrass. If you decide to waste your time playing here, dont expect a discount. We played $50 for the privilege of playing this dog track. Bring plenty of cheap balls, youll go through plenty of them.

I havent golfed yet at very fancy courses, but this was a really nice place for the price. The course is in fine condition, and was challenging but not impossible.

Attended a golf tournament sponsored by the Greater Beltsville Business Association and The Beltsville Rotary Club. The Cross Creek staff and the facility are a perfect venue for this type of event. The golfers had a wonderful time and I would highly recommend this golf club.

This course is literally the worst Ive ever played. It should be closed and redone. What turf exist is crabgrass. The greens have bald spots and about 60 percent coverage. Do not play this dump.
