Two stars because its fun to drive through. Zero stars for the price increase. Is anyone going to address the INSANE price increase for this?? It used to be $10 a car. Then they bumped it to $15 last year. Now its $20!! TWENTY dollars to drive through a display of lights that arent even synchronized. How do you even justify charging $5 more?! I would maaaybe understand a $1 increase but $5? Now youre just greedy. Whats funny is, when it was cheaper we would NEVER have a wait to get into the display. We would drive right up, pay, and enjoy a leisurely drive through the lights. Since the price increase, we have had to wait up to 45 minutes every time. Even on a weeknight we have had a wait. We used to drive almost 2 hours to visit this display but not at $20 a vehicle. Disappointed is a severe understatement.

A friend and I drove here to see the light show in December 2019, and I enjoyed it. The lights were so pretty at night, plus they had an entire radio station dedicated to playing Christmas music that suited the scenery. There were a lot of cars when we were there, so the drive was slow, but I didnt mind. That meant taking more photos of the cute light-up figures and animations that I saw!

We originally rented a boat for 4 hours and they offered an upgraded boat since the original rental was tied up due to trailer issues-- and they threw in a tube and let us out on the lake for the day instead of the original 4 hours. It was handled incredibly well and the staff was SO nice and funny! The lake is huge and it wasnt crowded at all. Such a good time! Well go back again!

We were out just driving. And found this place. It is so beautiful. The grounds are very well kept (even with Christmas decorations everywhere). I got amazing pictures. We ended up spending a few hrs by the lake. I was in town visiting my son for the holidays. I hope to come back here in the summertime if he is still at this base.I wanted to come back at night to see all the light but had to head to the airport. But from what I could tell the lights would have been amazing too,so sorry I missed it. Thanks again for the memories

The Christmas light show is so ghetto and clearly army-sponsored that its actually hilarious. Santas village is just an old high school auditorium-like building filled with shacks that sell tacky toys, strangely intricate crucifixes that scream Texas, and instant hot chocolate from behind a wall school-cafeteria-style. Great for little kids and for truly memorable dates for people with a strange sense of humor.

Came here for the Christmas lights for the first time. $20 for car seems like a bit much. Only a few displays were really impressive. Some people were pretty rude with loud vehicles and wanting to pass.Places to stop for bathroom breaks and to see Santa and get food which is nice. We didn’t do that so I can’t comment.

Belton Lake Outdoor Recreation Area is a military supported park available to the public and military families. Its always a nice place to hike, camp, barbeque, fish or to go boating, and theres a whole host of other water activities available. There is a small water slide and a swimming area available as well. A marina is available for fishing and boats can be rented for skiing, fishing or fun. There are camp grounds, rental RV grounds and picnic tables available as well. I recommend B.L.O.R.A. for the entire family as a safe, clean and well kept park.

Its ok. The fishing dock was in bad shape last I was there last year. The dock needs to be bigger or a second needs to be placed out there in a different spot. Would be great to have the tanks 2x larger and wider because its a great place to catch carp which I fish for. Need more fishing options like a few pairs with benches with holders and lights. More options for kids too.

The light show is always amazing. My wife and our iris always love it. It takes quite a while to get in, and quite a while for traffic to flow through.Don’t stop at the first festival snack shop, though. They have a nine year old running the “register”. He calculated our payment wrong. When his father asked what was going on, he told him he had $X. Without even checking, his dad told him to charge it. He then calculated it up on his phone, for the charge, and got a different number. Yet, he still overcharged me for the higher amount. The same happened to a female that ordered after us.

Very large camp ground and alot of different size facilities to rent for BBQ or get togethers. I would Definitely go back.

Took my 2 year old son to see the trail of lights (Dec. 2019) and was ABSOLUTELY DISAPPOINTED!!!! I remember going as a child and it being the best thing ever! $20 per car!!! Even though it was just me and my son! Took us maybe 15 mins to get through the whole thing and there was so many parts that were just bare and you were looking at complete darkness except the string of lights to guide you. We will never be going again! I would rather drive further then the 45 mins it took me to get there for a better light display and for $20!

And that the lifeguard had radioed him. Why couldn’t they tell me that before when they talked to me ? Also we have been there several times before and nobody had ever said anything to us before not even when paying to get in or anything I went back inside to get my money back, they did however give me back my money. Worse christmas experience of my life. 2 hours 45 minute line over 4 miles to get to the park, discourteous gate staff, incorrect pricing, and no traffic control to keep people moving. It was over an hour to drive through the lights, and they were beautiful, but not even one second of it was worth the time spent in the line nor the constant stop and go every three to four seconds in the park. I will never bring my family to this again.

This is a nice, large recreation area. It is a safe environment due to safety & security officers ALWAYS on duty. The security officers make rounds of the entire park on a regular basis. The park is under new management and already improvements are becoming apparent. The main reason I rated it a 4, is because numerous repairs are still needed in the park following a severe flood. Also, this park NEEDS life guards to work here. The beach and water slide remained closed all last summer due to THE NEED FOR LIFEGUARDS. There is NO swimming at your own risk at this park. Nope, aint happening. Safety 1st is ALWAYS the militarys motto. WE NEED LIFEGUARDS!

My family and I were excited to go here since we havent went here for a very long time, but we were disappointed. We cant go in the water because of the lack of lifeguards. We were only wetting our feet but we got reprimanded, meanwhile the other visitors were full on swimming to the ignorance of the security officers. More lifeguards need to apply here to make the visit to BLORA more enjoyable. I am aware that there are other recreational activities to do, but my family and I usually swim in the water, which is also the case for many other families. I want my $10 back.
