More of a walk than a hike. Very easy, wide trail tucked behind a residential area. Saw a couple foxes which was fun.

Quiet, well-maintained, non-strenuous walking trail. Many opportunities to stop and watch the waters of Turtle Creek roll by. My first time being there despite living in Beloit for most of my life. I encountered squirrels, blue jays and a startled coyote, who quickly ran off into the foliage on the wooded side of the trail. I leisurely walked for about an hour and a half, taking in the peace and calm of nature and never met another human on the trail. It was a cool day in the middle of December though. I definitely want to come back in summer or early fall. There is some traffic noise near the parking area and after the trail winds around to running alongside some backyards and near the creek there are occasionally a beer can or two and items that washed up on the sandbars or snagged on trees by the creek. There was a gray popped raft clinging to an old tree trunk too. This is a floodplain area after all. Seems pretty clean and well-maintained overall and a nice place to connect with nature or take a walk, without leaving the city. Interesting graffiti under the Milwaukee Rd bridge suggests interesting wildlife after hours though.
