This park is amazing. It is a good place for families or alone time. The park has nice play areas and plenty of trails to walk or hike.

I love visiting Big Hill Park. There are lots of different trails and areas to explore. It’s a great place to walk around or to have a picnic. It’s especially nice to visit in the fall when all the leaves are changing colors. I also like the river outlook area.

What a great place to explore with my family!!! So many trails, picnic tables, 2 playgrounds and gorgeous scenery/views of the Rock River! We will be back! Hopefully with our bikes to ride the bike trail! Oh and loved the trails around the Welty Environmental Center, SO many different types of plants to teach my kiddos about!!!

The park bodes many different trails, scenic overlook of the river, activity areas, and playgrounds for kids. The park appears to be well maintained in most areas. There are enough places to rest and what looks like to be places to camp. Heres the downside. Violent homeless people trickle in and cause problems with people. Best to leave the park before dark.

Scenery is very good. Fantastic for hiking. Occasionally youll find people loitering around playing loud music hence the 4 stars.

This is such a beautiful and big park. The play area for the kids is nice. I love the big concrete fire pits(from 1937). The look out is beautiful as well.

Lovely place. Very beautiful hiking trails, quite a few different pathways out there. They have playground for the kids to enjoy and you can grill out here and have a good time. It rained last night so the bugs were out. Bring bug spray!

Beautiful park. Love the woods and all the hiking trails. Has restrooms with flush toilets and fun playgrounds for kiddos. Bring water though. Didnt find water fountains or spigots to refill canteens. Also bring hand sanitizer for after restroom use.

Great place. Quiet little spots with fireplaces. A couple of playgrounds and a couple of river overlook spots. Hiking trails. A little something for everyone it seems.

Big hill is a nice park with hiking trails, more then one playground, and convenient rest rooms. Its right on the Rock River which makes it great for fishing or taking in the scenery. Ive encountered deer at the park as well as various water fowl. There are shelters close to each of the play areas. Its a great place for a family picnic or birthday party.

Big Hill is a great local park. Theres a large playground, hiking trails, a bike path and a nature center. Great place to come to let kids play, take a quick walk or have a group picnic/grill-out.

This is a large and beautiful park. It is mostly wooded with sunny glades, paved and unpaved trails, and two playgrounds. There are areas for cookouts and picnics. There is even a special scenic overlook, though there are many places to get a view of the river.

Plenty of space, clean, and beautiful

It is a beautiful park,the upper & lower part, over looking the rock river is just a gorgeous view. Weve had a graduation party, my grandsons 1 st birthday party out there a wk ago. And other occassions, just love going out there it is so peaceful magical.

Park was clean and it was a great place to hike and spend time with family. Lots of green space and trails. Roads were easy to navigate and no entrance fee. One of the best forest-like parks in the area.

My 7 year old son and I hike this park all the time with our dogs. Its great for easy to moderate hiking depending on what suits you.

I come here almost everyday to walk and take pictures. I also love bringing my godchildren (ages 3-17) here too!! They enjoy it.

I brought my kids to climb the large hill. They of course were using hands and feet to climb. Very concerning because there was broken beer bottles everywhere. Also there was a large pile of used needles near the top... Do not take your kids there...

Theres usually not a lot of people here, which, as you can imagine, makes it peaceful and good place to collect thoughts and reflect on the recent work week. I do just that over looking the river and suspended in a hammock. Not a lot of bugs either.

This is a great old park with lots of history. Great hiking also.

I recently rediscovered this place after visiting it once four years ago. Boy, have I been missing out!Things to do:Walk through the beautiful path running parallel to the river, with the steep slope beside you. A wonderful place to think.Check out the observation deck for a lovely view of the Rock River. The deck is very well build and has a perfect railing to lean on and stare at the view for an hour or more.

Beautiful views. It was icy when me and my lady went but walking our pups was interesting being they had never been there before.

Grass needed mowing bad. Otherwise it was ok.
