We feel very lucky to have the Pickford here in town. It always brings in an interesting mix of movies that we might not be able to see. They have a lovely mix of concessions, yummy popcorn and you are able to drink beer and wine! We love the option of membership and are glad its part of the Bellingham landscape.

A variety of independent film offerings in a comfortable and slightly retro setting. Located in Bellinghams art district and a few doors down from restaurants, that were packed with people when I was there. You may also get food at the Pickford theater.

I lived in town a year or so before I went to a movie here, and I was really missing out! This is a fabulous little theatre, they feature a lot of food indie or niche films and also offer a great selection of snacks (AND WINE!). This is a true staple of Bellingham, love them!

Wonderful place to catch an independent movie. It is a nice bonus feature to be able to have a beer or wine while you watch. It has comfortable seating and good sightlines to make your movie watching experience worthwhile. They have a continuing rotation of interesting films to discover. It is right in downtown Bellingham so that you can easily stroll somewhere for a post-movie drink or dinner. We will definitely be back!

Not a a lot to say other than this is the ideal independent movie theater. If you want to see films beyond the latest superhero blockbuster, the Pickford along with their other theater, the Limelight is your place. Both are a labor of love for the volunteers and members that make it possible.

The Pickford shows the films that matter. Its the only place to see many independent movies and the best place to see any movie! Popcorn with real butter (or nutritional yeast), local treats, local brews and comfy seats. And your ticket supports the amazing outreach work of this vibrant non-profit.

The Pickford is a classic example of how a theatre should be operated. Small intimate spaces create an ambiance of close family events. I live this theatre, Bellingham is privileged to have her here

The Pickford does what it does well. Excellent films that the big box theaters dont see as big box office draws. It is a small venue but well put together. The clientele seems to be more the oddball Bellingham type (who me?). Ya gotta put up with them in order to see some of the more thought provoking films.

I love this little theater. I saw Free Solo here when it first came out and the theater was packed. I think its capacity was like 55 people, and there were people sitting on the floor in front. I would rather go here and support the local business than that huge movie theater (the regal?).

We are lucky to have this independent movie theater. Beer and wine served up with some standard concessions. They even have nutritional yeast available for your popcorn. Often playing interesting and harder to find indie films.

Ti
Review №42

I love both the pickford and the limelight theaters. that they show unmainstream independent films, especially during the glorious documentary filled doctober, that span so many topics is almost secondary to the sense of community served up by the theater and staff. local volunteers provide much of the staffing (giving us old delinquents something constructive to do, and there is just a tremendous heart and local pride associated with both places. sure, some movies arent to my liking and this or that could be improved on but i look for independent flicks in other larger towns across the west coast and usually find no options. these two theaters are about community as much, if not more, than just entertainment. 5 stars, 2 thumbs up a rainbow and a herd of unicorns all covered in sparkles is my final rating for both the pickford and limelight theaters.

Ka
Review №43

Absolutely fabulous to have an independent film theater here! They go out of their way to find and showcase movies the awful Regal cinemas wont. (Regal gobbled up the other movie houses in town and then shut them all down, leaving empty husks all over town. ) Doctober is only one way they show their connection to the community. We study their movie openings when they come out because we know theyll give us at least one lovely gem every time!

Bellongham is so lucky to have 2 art-house theaters! Both owned by same non-profit group, showing different movies. Pickford is the newer one, with 2 screens.

Al
Review №51

I love the Pickfords eclectic, diverse, choices in films. The Pickford reaches out to the community by offering volunteer opportunities for free movie tickets, offering themselves as a local sponsor for community events, and by inviting educational speakers to educate all ages during their low-cost Science on Screen productions. The Pickford contributes to the local film crowd as well. Its nice that the Pickford provides popcorn with a diverse amount of seasonings to choose from (plus, real butter! Not the fake stuff). Its relaxing to watch a film at the Pickford with a locally brewed beer in my hand. Staff are friendly. The Pickford is Bellinghams community theater where I have seen some of the best films ever made.

Review №54

I love this theater. Indie and small distribution films. The only complaint i have of these types of theaters is that the patrons tend to think they are in their living rooms and talk through the films. The only time i have these issues is when i attend these cinemas. Perhaps its the alcohol that is served that turns people into social clods... who knows. I had hoped that a more considerate clientele would be attracted to these films. Same thing happened often at the Tropic Cinema in Key West, FL when I lived there. Too bad. STILL! It is the only theater I attend. Great staff. Great location.
