We highly recommend Peter James Photography Gallery, which has a stunning collection of Nature Photography of Washington State. My wife and I recently selected two pieces for our home, and everything about the process was terrific. We used all of the services provided, which made everything feel more sure, and very enjoyable (Peter is a great guy, in addition to being a highly accomplished artist).(A) We sent photos of our rooms and received digital mock-ups of the initial images we were interested in, in different sizes. This made selection much easier, and made us more confident.(B) We visited the Gallery, and discussed with Peter our hopes and preferences, as well as the space the art would occupy. He was patient and understanding, and extremely helpful, as my wife and I sifted through our choices. He gave excellent gentle guidance on our options for sizes and images. Reassuringly during COVID19, the Gallery felt safe: we were masked, it’s a large high-ceilinged space, and there were just the 3 of us for about 30 minutes.(C) Peter customized one of the images we selected, to better work in the specific space it would occupy. (While we were hesitant about altering his beautiful art, he was completely supportive of adjusting the image to allow a better printing-size-ratio for the space.)(D) The in-Gallery ordering and payment steps were very easy. Peter kindly offered a much-appreciated discount on the second piece, too (thank you!).(E) Peter sent us mock-ups of how the final images we’d chosen would look in our home, on our walls – so zero ‘buyer’s-remorse’-worries, or second-guessing, with our choices.(F) In-home installation was perfectly performed by Peter himself just a couple of weeks after we ordered the art. This included mounting one piece on an irregular (not flat!) stone fireplace wall. Extremely well done.We are so pleased with everything! What an amazing way to bring the beauty of Nature into our home, for years to come.Truly the only challenging thing at all was to select ONLY two images from the amazing portfolio Peter has curated.Highly recommend!

We originally purchased two pieces from Peter after visiting his gallery in person, then bought a third piece to give as a gift. You should visit his gallery to view the photographs in person! Peter James photography filled my windowless office with splendor! Now, when I look up, it feels like I am peaking out a window at my own private view. These photos are stunning and a reflection of Gods master piece.

I own 4 Peter James prints. We built new modern home and that was one of the additions I wanted in my new home was beautiful art. We built our living room/fireplace around one of the larger prints. We get so many compliments from our guests on how perfect the print is above the fireplace, absolutely gorgeous. I have also purchased three other smaller prints and placed them in perfect areas in our home. I highly recommend if you are in the market for some beautiful art in your home to go to their gallery- you probably wont leave empty handed.

I purchased a print for my husband for our anniversary. Never having been to the gallery, I found Peter’s website and was immediately impressed. The photo print on metal that I purchased was a close-up of a fox. I that Peter captured the animal’s soul when he took the picture. It’s mesmerizing. I am from Pennsylvania and stopped into Peters gallery while touring one day on vacation. While the website is very good, the art work is stunning in person. There are so many good pieces to choose from we had to stop a second time. We had a chance to talk to Peters wife the first day and then with Peter himself the second day. Visiting Peters gallery was a highlight of our stay in Bellingham. Housed in the unique Orca building in Fairhaven, Peter has set up a gorgeous space and even hung his art in the corridors around his gallery.Peters work is art. His highlights the natural beauty of Washington state, and each photograph is a painstaking effort. For example for one photo - Peter backpacked to a location, camped overnight, got up at the crack of dawn to get lighting just right and captured the mist over a lake with a mountain in the background. On our visit, Peter spent a lot of time with my family and I to explain his process and the stories behind prints we were interested in.Lastly, Peters work has a strong environmental message. Peter and family supports various organizations that are planting trees all over the world to help ours and future generations restore earths balance. Buying a print directly contributes to this effort.

I knew of the gallery for years but was absolutely shocked when I went for a small photo sit and discovered the amazing gallery display. Hey guys its a new world out there and these photos will brighten any room and show outdoor life in a different amazing way brought to life as never before. You really have to see the collection to appreciate this new method of photography.

My dad took me here last summer and we still talk about the beautiful images we saw on a regular basis, I am a photography student, so when my dad heard about Peters work he knew he had to take me there to see it in person. We spent over an hour studying each image, talking about how we think he may have done it, as the beauty and mystique is alive and flowing in all of them. The woman working (may have been Peters partner?) was very kind and we talked to her about the work, cool hikes in the area, etc. We had a very warm and welcoming experience at Peters gallery and plan on visiting again as soon as things become more relaxed. Its a must visit!

Even visiting the Gallery is a great experience! From the wide, wooden staircase entry way, to two rooms of gorgeous photos overlooking the bay, to the hallway lined with Peters amazing work, which in itself is like a walk in the woods or a quest to the desert. Peter James photos are so beautiful! Our home lacks a sunset view and after placing an ocean sunset photo in our north facing room, I made the space feel so much brighter. We have received so many complements on our piece! We hope to afford more of his photography in the future.

Being able to have beautiful images that are completely protected, waterproof, and quite hard to damage, is a huge plus with kids! I went to the Orca Recovery Ball last winter at Peter James Photography Gallery. It was an awesome experience. On a drive to Vancouver, BC from Seattle, I decided to walk around Bellingham, grab a bite, and see what that cute little town had to offer. I stumbled upon the Peter James Gallery and was fortunate that it was open and that Peter was there. He showed me around - the place is fabulous - filled with breathtaking photos from around the PNW. I highly recommend you stop in if youre in Bellingham!

Peter James gallery is gorgeous! Its the perfect large, bright open space that makes it easy to imagine these images on your own walls. His prints are amazing and really capture the essence of the PNW. The metal in particular makes an image glow with the magic of nature, whether its the foaming waves, funneling clouds, or intensity of a sunset. You can almost feel it! They are always friendly and welcoming. I really liked how the images started right at the entrance, and led you to the gallery. Its the perfect location, with a great view of Fairhaven and the Bay. Its hard to miss - just look for the Orca there on 12th Street and youre there. I always enjoy my time in the gallery and cant recommend Peters skills or his photos enough!

I live next to a wetlands, and wanted a big piece of art that reflected my love of nature to put over the fireplace. I found Peters work online, and fell in love with the Grandfather Cedar photo. Peter and his wife were so easy to work with. They communicate really well, the photo arrived beautifully crated up and in immaculate condition. The photo proved to be as easy to hang as they had promised.Because the photo has no frame, the effect on my wall is that of a great big window out of which we see the magnificent cedar. Beautiful.

I have admired Peters photography for as long as I have known him. When he started offering his Metal Prints I absolutely had to have one. If you have visited his website or his gallery on Holly Street you will know exactly what I mean. Its like being outside when you cant be. But how to choose? He made it easy - he can use Photoshop to place his photos into a picture of your wall, so that you can see exactly how it will look. Foggy Autumn Trail is now hanging in our office in a previously blank space. Its like looking out a window. Breathtaking. I get so many compliments. Lightweight and easy to hang and no framing expense - Ive spent almost as much on a frame as I have on one of Peters beautiful pieces. Next on my list is Bridal Veil Falls for my bedroom and then a forest sunbeams piece in a dark corner over the couch in my living room. Theres a size for every budget. We have loved viewing Peter James metal prints and photographs over the yearsat his gallery in Fairhaven.Since we recently moved to a new home in Bellingham, we wanted to purchasePeter’s photographs of places loved and familiar to our family.We chose Twin Trees on Skyline Divide for our bedroom. As newlyweds, we had done this hike with my parents. We love the view of Mt. Baker in this photo and the little yellow glacier lilies.Ima James was really helpful sending on email various sizes of the metal prints over furniture, so we could select the best size for our bedroom.For my office space I chose Island Escape, Dot Island on Chuckanut Drive.This photograph always reminds me of my high school adventure by two sets of sisters in a row boat to the island one summer, and the beauty of our islands here.Peter personally installed both metal prints which was wonderful.Our friends and family are really impressed by his work, as are we.
