Guns are fairly high in price but in the area there are plenty of other places to buy from.I only come here for the range and I’ve always had great experiences, one guy working even let me hold his G17 with a hollowsun red dot. I’d definitely recommend this place.

For an Aussie visiting the US this was a very friendly place. Great selection of guns to rent and the range was excellent. I shot the PS90, FN57, HK UMP and Springfield XD45 compact, then the Uzi full auto and MP5 full auto. The Uzi jammed a bit so the guys let me shoot the MP5 for free. If youre passing by spot in and have a shot. Parking is limited.

The instructors are well informed, patient, and very helpful. There was not a question we could not ask. They showed a willingness to inform, instruct and show us how to use and carry our weapons safely and responsibly. I enjoyed the class and may return for more training. It was that good! Also, the range is perfect for my needs and maintained by consummate professionals.

I stopped in to practice with my new handgun and they were nothing but helpful. The RSO made sure o was comfortable with loading the magazine and that I knew basic gun safety before leaving to practice. Checked in to make sure all was well. I found the prices to be comparable to what I’ve seen elsewhere at indoor ranges. Ammo is always going to be less expensive at a mass retailer, and you can bring your own in. I had a great experience.

The staff is extremely knowledgeable. If you follow the rules, you will have no problem. I rated 4 stars because of the extremely overpriced ammo and when I bought my girlfriend her ear protection, it was priced wrong. The owner (who was great otherwise), told me he would just give them to me for the $20 they were marked and when they rang up for $45, I was charged the $45 they shouldve been marked in the first place so Im not upset about it. Ive had nothing but pleasant experiences every time Ive been. Bought a firearm for a price I wouldve gotten anywhere else and received my 1 yr membership. Great value! Im more than happy to call myself a member!

I purchased a typhoon F12 from metro the rifle came under warranty from typhoon. When the rifle began to show malfunctions light pin strikes, failure to eject spent casing, failure to discharge. I contacted typhoon as directed from metro. Followed my steps for the warranty and which TYHPOON was not helpful at all what so ever. Constant back and forth emailing with talking around the problem failing to fix it and honor the warranty. I brought my rifle to Jon Z and Ken and Metro. I cant say enough good things about them. They are so professional so very helpful and so down to earth willing to do what it takes and everything in their power to help me. After the arguing with typhoon for months i brought it to Jon and Ken. After no time at all its fixed and ready to be picked up. Again i cant say enough good things about the company Metro and their staff. Thank you sincerely thank you.

I had never handled a gun before and they were awesome to deal with. Very thorough and really focused on safety (which I would hope they would be), made sure I was doing everything I should and not acquire any bad habits from the very beginning. I am definitely going back so I can improve my skills and try different types of guns to figure out what will be the best for me personally. Would highly recommend them to anyone just starting out or who is looking to improve their skills!

Ive been shooting at Metro for almost 3 years now. This place has consistently improved. If you havent been to the revamped range it is worth stopping by. Its well lit with new equipment and a lot of upgrades. Matt, Ken and the rest of the boys have always treated me great every time Ive been in to shoot, look at a gun, purchase a gun, or just have questions. The guns are a little more expensive than other retailers, but the free membership makes up for it in my opinion. I shoot at least 2 to 3 times a month. So its well worth it to me.

Im pretty new to rifle shooting and wanted a chance to practice and to get into the sport. My first time here I rented out a 223 AR. The associate helping me made sure I knew how to properly use the firearm and that I understood all the rules of the range. He watched over the first couple of shots I fired and than offered to take my picture since it was my first time with an AR. Overall I really enjoyed my time there and will definitely come back again. The only downside to it was the overall price and they were out of many target options. But the evil clown did just fine. I went in my first time over a year ago with my 21 yr old son. I had never been in a range before but did have experience in gun handling. We were greeted warmly and friendly, asked questions to assist with our needs, explained the rules and had a blast! I hadnt shot a gun in over 20 years. I started going in by myself to practice for my accuracy. As a female, I was apprehensive about going in alone. I dont like pushy people. I was EXTREMELY please when the guy behind the counter remembered me. I actually thought it was a fluke. But, as I said, I started going to practice and have been greeted the same each time with the same great attitude. Its nice to know they remember who you are. Ive tried to visit once a month to practice and keep accurate. I plan on purchasing in the future and these people will get my business. Thank you guys for always making me feel comfortable and answering my questions when Im there. I will be a customer for life.

Friendly and helpful staff, but the prices are outrageous! They try to make you think that because their firearm purchases come with a free $200 year membership that youre getting a good deal. If you do the math its not hard to see its not a good deal. If anything the discount that you get on ammunition with the membership just lowers the price to the normal price of ammo at any other gun store. If it wasnt for the fact that they have the only indoor range around the area, they would have gone out of business years ago. They have a large selection of weapons and thats why a lot of people new to firearms go there. I dont know of any avid gun owner that shops there though, and that should tell you something.

When I first came here, I had never even fired a gun before. I almost didnt come in because of all the bad reviews I had read, but I decided to give them a chance anyway. Im glad I did, because it turned out to be one of the best decisions I ever made. I ended up buying my first firearm and taking the CCW classes shortly after. The classes were very informative, and the instructors went way above and beyond what was required of them to give a very comprehensive course.Since then I have been in here dozens of times, and have been a member for well over a year. I have never had a single bad experience. The staff is very friendly, and most of the time I come in I am greeted immediately by name. Theyve never made me feel stupid for asking a question, and are always happy to share their expertise on any subject. This is also the only store Ive ever been in where you will be greeted instantly and not have to wait 20-30 minutes or more just to look at a gun. They are very willing to work with you and make sure you get whatever is the best fit for you.Overall, Id especially recommend this place to any new or inexperienced shooters who want to learn how to handle firearms safely and effectively from world class firearms instructors. The range is great, and with a membership it is an excellent value. You get a free year of membership every time you buy a gun here, and the guns are very well-priced, so membership is practically free. You cannot go wrong.

To anyone that likes to spend their hard earned money on range time, Im warning you now. Do NOT shoot at Metro Shooting Supplies in Belleville, Illinois downtown on 159. I walked in to shoot today on my day off this week thinking Id be spending the $20 for an hour of range time, but ended up having to spend $102.67 for literally shooting 20 rounds in about 10 minutes. I wasnt doing anything outrageous or irresponsible, but one of my bullets ricocheted off the ramped backstop, and hit the cable holding my target at the top of the cable. I was aiming center mass on my target in the middle, at a down angle. They ended up charging me $80 for the cable. I argued with the manager and he proceeded to tell me youre responsible for where your rounds go and that the $80 was for the cable and man hours to install it. This is outrageous. I assure you I was being responsible, and only trying to enjoy my day, but ended up getting screwed.

I cannot provide a completely bad review. The facility isnt bad, the prices on ammunition are reasonable, and the range itself is pretty decent albeit somewhat small. With that said - your luck with staff is hit and miss. Being new to the sport I received very poor treatment when asking a few questions from a few staff members. They almost seemed as if they couldnt be bothered to speak with me. However, it is not fair to condemn all of the staff. One person was particularly helpful explaining to me how my shots were grouping as they were and what to look for in purchasing a firearm.I think the attitude is very much a the boys club, and despite being a male, I was not a member. A gem of one employee does not offset several very poor attitudes. If the staff were more friendly it would more than makeup for the smaller facility.

I would summarize this range as disappointing and dilapidated. For $18 an hour per shooter you should expect a better experience. Every other range I have visited offers second shooter pricing if you share a lane. Sharp Shooter across the river offers $21 for an all day pass and $8 for a second shooter just as an example. There is no functioning AC in the range, temperatures inside were so high my cousin and I could not shoot all of the ammo we brought because we were dripping in sweat and extremely uncomfortable. The interior of the range is small, dingy, and unappealing. The equipment is dated and it seems they quit maintaining their range years ago. It really makes you wonder why they charge as much as they do for such poor facilities. If you plan on brining a rifle you will need to purchase their overpriced ammunition. You are required to pick up all of your brass by hand (no brooms are available) and dump them in a coffee can. If this were an public outdoor range I would under stand, but when they charge a premium by the hour this policy becomes ridiculous. My recommendation is, just dont go.

Opportunities for practice as well as questions and discussion. Worth every nickel! I would encourage anyone who wishes to obtain his/her CCL to attend classes at this facility. Also, the stores employees are helpful, friendly, and interested in educating and assisting a customer in the purchase of a firearm, tailoring the purchase to your own financial situation, and personal needs. As a woman, and someone who is still fairly new at gun ownership, and shooting..I sincerely appreciated their help and advice and good conversations about gun ownership, and our 2A rights. Kudos to Steve King and John Parker, Matt, and all who I have had the pleasure to meet so far!! Believe me, I will be going back to the range, for practice and for supplies. I am an Afghan veteran and military officer with years of firearms experience. This has been the most unappealing gun store I have ever visited, on several occasions. They are overpriced and their collective attitude is one of unsubstantiated arrogance. Their guns and ammo prices are very high... up to 100s of dollars more than other places. I have had several conversations about basic firearm laws and function, which I know 100% to be true from experience... but was argued down, twice by someone younger than I. One guy was playing with the thumb break on his holster while he talked to me. Not impressed. I recommend you find another place to go. They are kept in business by folks with no other options, the current gun buying rush, and new shooters who dont know any better and are taken advantage of.

I bought a pistol about 7 years ago and had a great experience. I was planning on getting into the hobby but a new child became my hobby. I brought the gun back and they agreed to buy it from me but explained that I would get a much better price selling it on consignment or to a private buyer. At the time I just wanted simplicity but was impressed by the efforts of the staff to talk me out of the option that made the least financial sense. Fast forward to now. I signed up for CCW course at their store. It had been about 20 years since I had shot a pistol and I was a little apprehensive about completing the live fire qualifying portion of the CCW cold. Class was on Sunday and I went in Thursday and asked if I could get a private lesson. They normally schedule them first thing in the morning and did not have an available time before Sunday. Fortunately they squeezed me in same day. Ken was great in the lesson going over all the basics of the range, firearm, stance, grip, sighting, and trigger pull. Very good at putting me at ease. The CCW class was very good as well. The instructor John obviously loves his work and is passionate and knowledgeable. Not sure 8 hours has ever gone by so quickly. I am sure he has done the class a million times yet his enthusiasm made it seem like it was the first time. I mentioned John and Ken and its my bad on not catching the name of the gentleman that allowed me the last minute lesson. He struck me as the manager? Everyone I have dealt with has been polite and professional. The range is well lit and clean with rules clearly displayed. The vending machine is comically under stocked but there was one bag of Funyuns so at least that makes up for it. As soon as I can get my Wife to forget the cost of the CCW course and application I look forward to buying a range membership. Yes they do have a range fee for members but its not bad and the initial membership fee is cheaper than St Louis ranges. Plus its 3 minutes from my house. Will you walk in and think you are in a tourist destination range/store in Vegas? Nope. Its an older building in Belleville IL. What you get is employees that seem to care about their work and the customer and an environment that will fulfill your gun buying/shooting needs.

I did some looking around for ranges to go to online and i saw all of the terrible reviews they were getting and well i had to go see for myself because some of the reviews just seemed ridiculous and almost made up. Well i tell you what im pretty happy that i decided to stop by because the range was a good time and its a great place. I spoke with john and 3 other guys at the shop after shooting at the range for an hour and they are all very nice people who seem very willing to help you out with whatever your needs are. Now i saw alot of people complaining about issues at the range. Most commonly i think is people getting mad about fees at the range. Ok yes the range isnt as cheap as some but its only a few bucks more, Yes you have to pay for the target holder if you shoot it but really they make this very clear before you go shooting and also if you hit the holder then you should be shooting closer and just need to be more careful, and yes if you are shooting rapidly like jack wagon then you are going to be asked to stop because it is a safety concern and this goes the same for people just handling weapons unsafe in general. I see all these reviews that are terrible and it looks like its just a case of unreasonable irresponsible people who are getting mad for breaking rules that are obviously stated before you go in. I highly recommend stopping in and checking the place out if you have been thinking about it.

Horrible customer service... Ive heard from several people not to come here but i guess i needed to learn for myself. Every shooter knows if you shoot the target holder you gotta pay for it. But apparently even if you dont shoot it, and it wiggles loose from vibration and old age, they will still charge you and loose your business for $6. My target fell which ruined my shooting session because i had a few more shots to site in my weapon and was on a slight time crunch. The shot that caused the target holder to fall apart was nowhere even close to the top. It was on the lower half of the target paper. I nicely explained to the supposed STORE MANAGER who refused to give me his name, that i had not shot the target holder, and it must have been glued poorly or given away to old age but that it was not destroyed and probably just needs to be re-glued. He said i am getting charged $6 for it. I told him that if that happens ill never come back and its a very poor business decision and he shrugged his shoulders carelssly. They must either be desperate for $6 or so snobby that customers dont mean anything to them. I said, if youre gonna charge me, go get the piece and show me a bullet hit, and he refused. Very rude, poor business. When i walked in they acted like every question i asked was bothering them or i was dumb for asking, they couldnt even site in my AR which was why i went there. Place is a joke. Take your money to Shooters in Columbia/Dupo or elsewhere.

Ill write as honest as I can here. So lets start with the basics.StorePrices: The prices are high. Some guns were actually way over what competitors down the street offer. This is sad too because the place has a very good layout. I wouldnt buy a gun here unless youve done your local research on prices and given them a chance to match the competitors.Layout/Selection: The store has a very wide selection. Presentation of the firearms is very well laid out and you dont have to hunt to find that gun your looking for. Accessories are easy to find as well as ammunition.Staff: Ive read a lot about people saying the staff members were arrogant. Ive only talked to a few and the ones I spoke with were all helpful. Mike and Marsha both really know their stuff. Its nice to see a lady work in a store that holds her own with just about any guy when it comes to gun knowledge. Not to mention she presents herself as not just an employee but a subject matter expert. Mike is the exact same way, very professional and very helpful. Everyone I spoke with there was nice.RangePrices are pretty much par for the course. 17-18 bucks and hour for non members and 7 or 8 bucks after tax for members. Membership is somewhere around 150-200 if I remember correct. They offer ear protection and eye wear free of charge. They also have a pretty good selection of paper targets at 1 dollar per sheet. They do provide the T-bar for placing targets on the cable for free, however if you do hit the T-bar you are charged 6 dollars to replace it and if you choose to keep it when you leave you cannot bring it back. My best advice is stay away from the headshots and this is not an issue.Layout: The range is laid out with 8 lanes all with a cable driven target system. Markers are places from as little as 5 yards all the way past 50 feet. Each lane has a booth and there is a bench behind you to set your things.Gun Rental: They offer a very wide variety of guns to shoot with and the prices are not bad. Someone said you have to buy their ammo to shoot the weapons but that was not my experience. If I remember correct they just need to approve your ammo to shoot there. However I would call and ask to be sure. One of the nice things about the selection is that you can have a chance to shoot weapons you would might not get to shoot anywhere else. This range supports .50 caliber Desert Eagle rounds which is nice because some indoor ranges do not.Misc: The range offers an observation window which is nice because you will be changed if a person steps on the range with you even to watch. The range does not have a range supervisor that sits in the range room like some other places but they are HEAVILY monitored via security camera.I gave this place 4 stars only because of the pricing. If the prices were more competitive with other local stores I would not hesitate to give it 5 stars.

I asked them for a specific model revolver and they said they had already ordered the one I asked about so I paid for it in February. They kept calling me asking if I wanted a more expensive revolver for more money instead of the one I wanted. Finally, in July I decided to settle for a revolver that was basically the same except that the hammer was internal. They told me the price went up for the revolver by $20. At that point, since they told me no refunds in February, I decided to just pay them so I never had to deal with these people again. I was tired of my money just sitting there for a revolver that was never going to come in. After I told my friends a few of them were saying that they would have warned me about this place if I would have told them were I was ordering my revolver.

The last 3 times I went there I was shocked at how arrogant and rude the staff was. I am a younger guy mid-20s and I dress and carry myself in a professional manner. However they treated me like I was in there to steal stuff or just play with guns. I get the impression that if you are not a current or retired Police officer you will be treated like a second class customer.I was accused of bring armor piercing handgun ammo in on one occasion (it was new factory ppu brass ammo). I was accused of causing range damage (when I asked them to show me what I broke they refused to show me or tell me what I had damaged, I didnt miss my target once and was not rapid firing) Futher more they attempted charge me for 2 hours of range time when I had only been in there for 45minutes. When I argued with the manager about the cost he put his hand on his pistol like he was getting ready to draw on me. I ended up having to come back in later and got a partial refund from the owner. It is a real shame that the only range withing 30 minutes of me is a place that I refuse to do business with. I would never recommend anyone to ever go there. EVER.

I actually liked this place at first I didnt experience the rude and snobby people like most of these comments would tell you, my only problem is their firearms and ammo are extremely expensive. That make no sense seeing that you have competitors not very far. Bullseye in St. Louis is 100 times better.

I was hesitant after reading reviews but decided to check it out. Now after 5 visits using the range and talking with 4 different sales reps, I can say all my visits have been nothing but positive. The sales reps are friendly and responsive to questions. Their prices are a little high but comparable with other gun retail stores. And, if you buy a firearm from them, you become a member and get a significant discount on the range, ammo and other services. If youve had problems in the passed, I suggest you giving them another shot.

DO NOT BELEIVE BAD REVIEWS!! So I went to this place because it was the only place open late enough for me to shoot one night after I had got off work. I read the reviews and saw a few bad ones but decided to go anyway. A friend of mine went along to check it out and as soon as we walked in we were blown away by the amount of inventory in the store. Sure some things were overpriced but you can find that anywhere. if you really look around they have some amazing deals and packages that they put together. The service was excillent and respectful. We finally made our way to the range after doing some browsing and started shooting. About 5 minutes in a group of peopl arrive and start shooting at the opposite end of the range. I instantly realize that these people have ZERO respect for firearm safety and before I can even say anything the door flys open and the range officer comes and give them a polite warning. They continue there behavior and are then again instructed to stop what they are doing. But... you guessed it third times a charm and they were all told to leave. I immidiatley realized why this range has a few bad reviews. These are from people who dont respect firearm safety and think of the range as a big play area WHICH IT IS NOT!! If you decide to go to a range and goof off and damage equipment, dont try and hold the range responsible for asking you to leave and or charging you for the damage. Metro Shooting Supplies is a place that cares about the safety of there employees and patrons alike. In a hobby where one mistake can cost you your life, I know that MSS understands this and will keep me safe. I will be back every time I want to shoot and anytime I need a new gun. Dont believe the people who are mad they got kicked out or charged for damage. Try it out and trust me you will love the range and the service. The pro shop alone is worth the visit.

I WOULD LIKE TO THANK THE STAFF AND ALL MEMBERS AT THE METRO SHOOTING SUPPLIES STORE #2 IN BRIDGETON, MO. EVERY VISIT HAS BEEN A POSITIVE ONE, WHETHER IT BE A FIREARM AND/OR SUPPLIES OR A SESSION AT THE RANGE. THE STAFF HAS ALWAYS REPRESENTED THE BUSINESS IN A VERY PROFESSIONAL WAY. KNOWLEDGE OF FIREARMS AND THE SUPPLY OF FIREARMS IS UNSURPASSED IN MY OPINION. THE NEW RANGE ONCE COMPLETED WILL BE STATE OF THE ART AND WILL BE EVEN BETTER THAN BEFORE. IT IS CLEAN, WELL LIT AND MAINTAINED. AS FAR AS THE STORE, THERE ARE NO LINES, NO WAITING, DUE TO THERE BEING SUFFICIANT #S OF STAFF. EVERY STAFF MEMBER IS COURTIOUS AND PROFESSIONAL. ALL CUSTOMERS WHETHER THEY ARE NEW OR LESS EXPERIENCED UP TO THE MOST EXPERIENCED ARE ALL TREATED WITH THE UPMOST RESPECT. I HAVE LEARNED A LOT JUST FROM CONVERSATIONS WITH A MEMBER BECAUSE OF DETAILED FEEDBACK I RECEIVE WHEN I ASK QUESTIONS. AT NO TIME HAVE I FELT THAT MY QUESTIONS WERE INSIGNIFICANT OR UNIMPORTANT. AS I MENTIONED BEFORE, THE VARIETY AND QUALITY OF FIREARMS AND SUPPLIES ARE MORE THAN COMPETITIVE WITH THE BIG BOX STORES. BIG BOX STORES CANT OFFER A ONE ON ONE EXPERIENCE AND YOU LEAVE THINKING YOU SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN MORE. AT METRO YOU ARE NOT JUST BUYING A GUN...YOU WALK AWAY WITH YOUR PURCHASE, KNOWLEDGE AND A POSITIVE EXPERIENCE...THANKS AGAIN..KEN G.

I have not gone for a while so things may have changed. Justin Wooten was a young Iraq veteran that I used to talk to all the time at metro. He was friendly, polite, and knowledgeable, shortly after he left I was forced to deal with the remainder of the staff who at first didnt strike me as terribly rude. After a string of visits over the course of a year I definitely noticed the lack of customer service at the Belleville location. I have seen most of the comments happen first hand, arguing with customers, not having orders in on time, and the range fees (cant forget about the range fees.) My dealings with Mr. King have not been unpleasant, he offered to and refunded my range trip, and we chatted about his staff for about 10 minutes and I hope it was a good conversation. Being treated like an annoyance is definitely the worst aspect of the store, but being treated like a moron is pretty close too. I used to be a long distance bench rest shooter and to be reminded what end the bullet comes out of a Beretta 92fs is very off putting. I wont promise I wont return, but I wont promise business to MSS either.

I bought a clip for a handgun from a female sales person this spring. I had the gun there when I bought it, so I feel they should have been able to match it with the correct clip. I found out this fall that it is was not the right clip. I needed a 8 rd vs a 7 rd clip. When I came in to exchange it, I talked to the same sales person and was treated very rudely and unprofessionally. I did not have my receipt, but did have a statement showing when I bought it. I just wanted the right clip. She would not return it, so I had to ask to speak with the owner. The owner agreed to swap it when the correct clip arrives and I will be called. 5 weeks later (still waiting for the clip), I came in and talked to the same salesperson. Lets just say I was shaking when I walked out. Very rude!!! Still waiting!!!! Small Businesses complain about the big chain stores such as Cabelas & Bass Pro Shops, but yet provide terrible service...DAAAA!

Before the new owner purchased the store...I bought numerous guns there.. as well as did my wife and guns for my son. With each gun bought I got a free years membership. The old owner had given me a lifetime membership due to having purchased so many guns..and I thought this was a class act and appreciated it. With the membership it made shooting there cheap. And at that time you could shoot your own ammo as long as they okayed it or you could buy reloads from them pretty cheaply. However when I purchased the last gun I ever bought there the owner informed me he wouldnt honor my lifetime membership. While I tried to be reasonable about it...thinking well ok while I can understand his point of view I felt I should have been given say a 5 years membership. But he refused and said it was good till the end of the year. As for as having to buy their ammo and no reloads for sale..I can see the safety factor there. But to not be allowed to bring in factory new ammo such as winchester etc I think thats a bit silly. Its a simple ploy to make more money for them...i mean while I dont like it they are a business. I walked out that day...tore my membership up in their parking lot and havent been back. I havent ever experienced rudeness from them....but I have seen a few instances towards other patrons but hey everyone can have a bad day. As for their prices..yes they did go up fairly significantly with the new owner but no ones making you buy your gun there. So while ive decided to buy elsewhere all I can suggest is buyer beware..shop around..etc.

Sought out a place to buy a gun from and was recommended to visit them. I work down the street and I would come in a few times a week to speak and use their range. They were all helpful and even made very good suggestions to me when I asked about a gun for conceal and carry. I did end up buying my Springfield XD Mod 2 3.3 9mm from them. I was a little disappointed that I got the essentials kit which didnt include a mag holster or gun holster. No big deal tho. All of the staff seems to be very knowledgeable. I come in and from time to time a customer will be there sitting and talking with them. All of them are really cool guys. One of the younger guys is awesome and even a gun smith. He went to school for it and built his own file-to-fit 1911. Theyre all really smart intelligent guys. Extremely friendly. Ive never had a problem with them or any of their staff.I do have some gripes but I also have some compliments.Gripes:1. The prices on guns and ammo seem to be fair but they are slightly higher than other places except for Gander Mountain2. Sometimes the AC works, sometimes it doesnt. When it doesnt, it sucks. I left before I could finish one time. But thats only happened once. Sometimes a big busy building during a hot day is hard to keep cool.3. The range fee is outrageous. $18/shooter per hour. $8 for members. For $18, I expect more.4. When you rent a pistol as a non-member its $10.00 and they automatically give you the corresponding box of ammo at their price. For instance, if you rent the XD-S 9mm you get a box of ammo for $20.99. So, youre looking at $30. But, every pistol rental after that does not require another box of ammo given that its the same caliber(you still have to pay $10.00 for that rental tho) But, this is countered with compliment #9(as seen below)Compliments1. Extremely knowledgeable on everything2. They have full auto guns to rent3. None of them are pushy about sales4. Extremely friendly5. When the AC does work, its ice cold!6. Sperate Observation lane for kids/wife/family/whoever.7. Large selection of hand guns and they always have cool new things like night sights, cleaning kits, and anything else gun related.8. Open later than most ranges. I go in when the sun is up and come out when its well past sunset. Nice for the days I get off early9. $1 pistol rentals on Wednesday. Great for anyone who wants to try out a lot of pistols for home defense/conceal carry/sport/ etc.10. Getting your gun repaired never takes long!11. Friendly over the phone.12. Allow double tapIll end with saying that these people, in my experience, are great. This is my range of choice because theyre so inviting and very cool. I go 3x a week now that I own a pistol of my own. Being a member makes it more affordable and totally worth it. If youre not very experienced or dont have a place to legally discharge your firearm for fun, then this place has your name written all over it.Edit: theyre also all about safety. One time the guys 2 lanes down were discussing their tactics and practicing outside of the lane. Not really a big deal but a stuff memeber came in and instructed them that even though the firearm is unloaded all handling of the gun needs to be dealt within the confines of lane. Its a good idea too because it keeps the safety up and the risk of anything bad happening low. What that shows is that someone is watching. Thats something I like. Knowing that when Im in there with others that someone is actually watching the cameras and not just cleaning their gun and snacking on Doritos makes me feel safe.

Im using my daughters gmail account to write this comment. If anyone is offended by the following words, this is coming from John, not Sam.First, I must say Im glad I shopped at, bought at, have shot weekly at for approx the past year and a half, and have grown to know the people at MSS before having read some of these chip-on-the-shoulder comments. Some people seem to take themselves a bit too serious. Lighten up people. The staff at MSS are ex cops, and ex and current military police. Youll get expert opinions from them and theres little or no waiting like in the big-box stores, but they likely wont stroke your ego. Cops arent trained to stroke egos, right?Ive grown to know the MSS staff and enjoy the thought that I can call each of them a friend. I went in the shop for the first time mid 2014 as a novice, have bought three guns there, and have learned a great deal about shooting, and have improved my skills tremendously. I recently completed their CCW class and was impressed with that part of the operation. Their gun selection is larger than most any other place Ive been, and they handled the repair of one of my old smith revolvers for a very nominal fee. When friends and family come to town, the MSS store and range is a favorite place to spend an hour or two.Sincerely,John

This place does not need to change. It does not need to read the feedback from people and address anything that is written. There are more than enough people out there rushing to buy guns to keep them in business. It is really sad because they have everything there to be an outstanding little store. I first went there to use a gift certificate that I received as a Christmas present. The gun I bought was high priced but with the $50 gift cert. and the range membership included, I did it. The range is so so with some rules I still dont understand. I wanted to rent a gun to try for myself and a lady there actually told me you dont want a Glock 26, you want a Glock 19. Perhaps I could make my own decision? Perhaps I am renting so I can make that determination myself? I bought that gun from Ron and Jos who came down considerably in price to get my business. After a few years I wanted to get another membership to the range. But at $200 I figured I would buy another gun for the free membership. While there talking to the employee I mentioned that I was doing this and that their prices were really too high to buy from them otherwise. He asked me what I could buy their $430 S&W M&P 22lr compact handgun for. I told him I see them for under $350 all of the time ( actually as I write this a 2 minute google search finds Buds=$309 and Gunbuyer is $279). He tells me no way and that their cost is higher than that. That may be true or not....maybe their cost is higher because they sell less guns in a year than other places sell in a day....I dont know. But the kicker is, he tells me that Buds and these other internet guys sell their guns so cheaply because th guns they sell are not new guns. He actually comes right out and says that they advertise the guns as new and then ship you used guns. He goes on to tell me a couple anecdotes of guys who brought their new guns in for some type of work or repairs and that they were used guns sold as new. Wow??? Really?? I mean Walmart could not even get away with this selling toasters! And these Gun sites selling hundreds or thousands of guns a day do this as standard procedure?? Lying to justify your gouged prices? At least the guy at Ron and Jos was honest and said that they cannot compete with internet prices because of volume and overhead considerations. We negotiated a price that was fair for both of us, he made some money, and I bought with local customer service and support. Anyway.....I bought that little 22 pistol so I could shoot at the range with my wife for a year. But, sir, if you read this, know that I did not care to be lied to at this store. I wont even start on the Colt AR15 I bought online and when I walked by your counter saw your price was over $500 more.......mine was probably a used gun as well!!! Feel free to discuss this further with me if this employee or the owner sees me as I am walking in to use my range membership. Mike RiederEDIT Your employee tells me that you cannot sell this gun for $350 or less because your cost is higher than that and that Buds can because they sell used guns advertised as new, What about the many other companies selling at the same or less than Buds. Sportsmans Outdoor Superstore, Grab a gun, Kentucky Gun Co., Cheaper than Dirt, Palmetto State, Sportsmans Guide, etc??? I cant imagine thousands of illegal sales taking place every week. Listen.......I know your prices are high, everyone does and you have to as well. I chose to pay your price for my own reasons, mainly the range membership. I am happy with my purchase and may well purchase another gun in the future. But dont tell me that internet gun stores sell at prices lower than your cost because they are selling used guns as new. In the tens of thousands of internet guns sales will you find someone who writes that they got a used gun? Yes, and maybe they did but I will stand by my opinion that it is the exception rather than the norm. Having purchased from several of the places listed above, I know better.

I purchased one gun from these folks. It was actually the second gun I ever bought. I just assumed most gun shops were grumpy toward newbies. Having bought a few more guns, Ive realized a few things.1. These folks will try to talk you into whatever they have in stock. Its a fairly common experience at gun shops, but they go too far by degrading anything they dont have in stock. Case in point, a year ago they had a Walther PPQ. Sales person said it was one of the best out there. Better than the Glock. Fast-forward to this year. They no longer have them in stock. Sales person said you dont want that gun anyway. It has serious quality issues and the Glock is much better.2. Customer service is abysmal. In trying to purchase a Glock 19, the sales lady walked away from me. I field stripped it to check the number on the recoil spring assembly (theyve had issues). She came back and chewed me out for taking it apart. Completely uncalled for. Its not like I detailed stripped it.3. Their prices are higher than anyone else. Yes, you do get a year of membership to the range. Dont kid yourself, its built into the price. That Glock 19 was retailing for $650 there. I went to Ron and Jos and bought it for $550. I recently called on a bare bones Mossberg 500 -- $450 vs $359 anywhere else.4. There is a minimum transaction fee at the range. If you dont spend a certain amount, you cannot pay with credit/debit. Its nitpicky, but they should have that rule posted. I ended up having to purchase a bottle of overpriced cleaner because I didnt have $10 in cash on me.In summary, you can purchase guns at a much better price from much friendlier people at pretty much any other gun shop in the area. They have the only range in the area, so they get a lot of business. The range is not bad. Its the only reason I still set foot in the store. If you really want that membership, be sure you do the math. I wouldve had to go about 10-12 times to make up the difference on the mark up on the guns.

When I asked why the Groupon didnt say this and why we werent told this when we made our range reservation, I was told a) that Groupon is hard to work with and wont change the content and b) that I didnt make a reservation since they dont take reservations. We left after we couldnt take the owners smug attitude (nice service, Steve) and called Groupon. They were very professional and helpful. We will NOT go back.

I actually had cash in my pocket for purchase.. needles to say i walked out and went to Ron and joes.So i figured i would try the range and give them another chance .. $18 per hour, (yikes) cannot shoot my own ammo,(WHAT!?) (Tulammo 7.62x39) so $8 for 20 rds. of their ammo.. This could easily turn into a $40-$60 visit to the gun range full of bad attitudes and a really snobby lady that works there, (the worse of them all there)do yourself a favor, dont go there, there are plenty of other ranges with far better customer service, and less range rules regarding ammo.
