Just went here to see The Avengers:End game.....we sat up in the balcony seats. The theatre is cozy and comfortable. ...although I wished the seats were a little more comfy. ...but after watching a 3 hour movie, I doubt if any seat would be comfy enuff. For a historic establishment, I really love looking around at all the historic pictures and info they have hanging in the refreshment area. I had never been to a movie theater in such an historic building like that...versus all the new modern movie theaters. I look forward to visiting again....and hopefully see other artifacts I didnt see this time, while waiting for the movie to start.

Small but cute. Concession stand it small but affordable. Clean. Seats are kind of snug and uncomfortable. Staff is friendly.

Love this small theater! It is very cosy and we love the small town feel. We came up for a visit one summer and ended up buying a home nearby!

Overall, I enjoy the colonial. The theater is very original, and I love how iconic the elephant. Though I do have some issues, one being the fact that the movie is way overpriced. Ive gone to the nickelodean theater in portland, which I personally believe is better, and they have lower prices. For Portland... plus they need more movie options, but I still enjoy the colonial. Just go see a movie that you really want to see, and not something you feel eh about.

Such a nice little gem in Belfast. We go to a lot of movies in the winter. Grabbing discounted tickets at the early bird sale was worth it.

The Colonial Theater is a wonderful old style theater. We saw Star Wars there, I love the Dreamland section of the theater.

It was a quaint theater and the style is really nice. This would be a good spot for young people to do a photo shoot. The sound is kind of hard to hear but I went on Sunday which had closed captioning.

The woman selling tickets felt it was her place to decide whether a movie was appropriate for my child to watch. She admitted to not having even seen the trailer much less the actual movie. She also had no knowledge of my child’s age. Completely inappropriate behavior.

This is a great small theater in Belfast. The old historical building is very cool. Movie prices are very reasonable, especially for matinees. You can get a beer at the snack stand, which is always a plus! There is no dedicated parking but it should be no problem to find a spot to park.

The Colonial Theater in Belfast Maine is an ArtDeco cinema with three spaces for movies including a theater tucked in back of the others called Dreamland. There are no bad seats and they are very comfortable too. A genuine small town gem. Only issue is restrooms are on lower floor. Still worth visiting.

It is not crowded. There is little to no wait at the box office. There are only 3 screens, but most popular movies are shown. Movies only in 1-2 weeks. Beautiful indoor decor and clean, classically styled theaters offer a great atmosphere. Screens are clean and have good picture quality.

I love this theater! Its a very characterful place conveniently located in the heart of downtown Belfast showing a range of films you wont typically find at the big-box Mall cinema. Probably the only the theater in the world with an elephant on the roof.

Went to movies to see Wonder Woman. Great movie but it was also nice because the lady that sold tickets and the 2 people at refreshments were all polite and friendly.

A nice experience. This is a small three room theater with friendly staff and it is very clean. Cash only? Oh no! Might have to speak to one of the staff and ask them to point you to the nearest ATM, a block away at High Street Market. Such an inconvenience indeed! I bet you could even ask them to hold the movie for a minute and wait for you, because thats what this small town, community oriented theater can do. Find yourself wandering around in the colonial for what feels like hours? Better stop using psychedelics in public, as this seems to be a family friendly theater. Usually there is one movie on the lineup for a younger audience. A great place for a rainy, snowy, muddy or otherwise quiet coastal Maine evening.

I really like this place cheap but still ice seating.

Tickets are not that expensive, but the food is a rip off, bathrooms are on the bottom floor, but the movies are pretty good and in for a good time incase you have other plans or something!

Its ok chairs arent that comfy and its an older theatre but the staff there are amazing.

This iconic small town theater survives, despite the megaplexes an hours drive away. I dont know why anyone would appreciate the offense and assault of a $15 dollar movie in augusta anyway. Here, prices are good.

The Colonial is an experience. There are theaters that are larger and higher tech but not with the history of The Colonial. Plus when do you get to sit in the balcony in modern theaters?
