I live within walking distance of gates 3 4 and 5 and I walk there quite frequently. I havent been going so much lately because there have been a lot of bear sightings in my neighborhood. The rest of the Quabbin is very nice. There are fascinating pieces of history to explore at the visitor center and many more walks to do throughout the reservoir.
It is one of the best scenic views I have ever seen. With the clear blue water and green mountains, Walking through the path near the lake was refreshing. I would strongly suggest you to stop by if you are in the area.
Excellent state park with great and interesting trails. Beautiful views and shoreline walks. Porta-johns were clean and recently maintained. Went yesterday hoping for fall foliage, but, it was too soon this year. Highly recommended for visiting.Lunch at nearby at Russos Lakeside steak and seafood. Scallop and shrimp tacos - you dont need salsa just use the cold slaw with added black pepper - excellent. 2 mai-tais using golden non-spiced rum (some off brand that was fine) and watching 3 bald eagles with 1 catching a fish.Highly recommended for both places.
I just love it here. Its my zen. SO peaceful and beautiful. Go there before sunset and watch the clouds, lakes, and islands on top. I wish that they change the windows on top floor of the tower and keep it open a little bit after sunset so people can enjoy the sunset there. I understand it is hard to evacuate the park after dark, but it is so sad to miss the sunset in fear of getting locked in the park or honked by the angry park guard. They keep the whole park very neat. I absolutely love it. I should check out the fall down the road next time that Im going there.
Its such a beautiful place
Great place to walk. Both road and trails to walk on. Really relaxing.
Went to acquire some photos and then found out that the brush is grossly overgrown on the downstream side of the Keyhole Bridge. Quabon is a lot more than the Visitors Station. Would have selected 5 Stars except the park department needs to clean the brush from the advantage view sights. Waited until the leaves were gone since they blocked the view from upstream also, these too need to be cleaned.Did manage to get some photos from upstream. Enjoy my photos, some need to be copyrighted, those are all on my better Cameras. If you want to print your photos, use a good Camera, Hand Held Electronical Device just doesnt do justice, for the quality. My photos are from the spill way and weir area. Walk across the Dam or drive in the Middle Gate. Surprised to get the, I believe, Eagle. Photos have different lighting since from separate dates.Much better viewing in person since perspective is maintained. Check the Munskin on top of the Bridge in one of my shots, it added some perspective to the size of the area.Really wanted a shot from downstream looking upstream at the Bridge, watters were discharging over the spill way modderitly and would have made a nice photo of the Rapids just past the Bridge, able to hear it but unable to see it.So anyways our Grandparents have done an amazing job since the dams installation still performs like it should as it did back in circa 1940s.Dont forget the like buttons on the photos too. Thanks.Mr. P says
They have great lookout and the welcome center is very interesting. Some of the Bike path is on a blind road though.
Great place to walk, jog or bike ride.

The Quabbin Reservoir is the perfect place to go if you want to see the beauty Western Mass has to offer
A wonderful place to walk and enjoy peaceful quiet!
Tranquil. Quite scenic. Can be a bit hot on the plains
One of best get away from the busy life of Boston to see some neat and clean water with beautiful surrounding hills. This is a great place to spend some quality time with your friends. The atmosphere is relaxing.
This large reservoir that Boston and Chicopee, Massachusetts gets their drinking water from has lots of beautiful walking trails . All ages can enjoy the peaceful walks short or long. Makes me feel as though I was back where the dinosaurs roam.
Absolutely Beautiful!
Beautiful place for a peaceful walk or bike ride. It has many entrances and trails to explore! Theres parking everywhere. It also has information spots about the reservoirs history.
Love this place brings back that childhood fun of rolling down the dike ever time i go!!
I have two toddlers so when I can make an entire day trip with the boys fun and free I feel like Im dreaming, but thats exactly what you get when you come to Quabbin, but trust me its not only for the kids pleasure the new you see here is absolutely breathtaking especially when the Sun is setting over the water... Not many other sights like it.
Beautiful scenery! Bicycled around and enjoyed it, but wasnt sure where the trails were. Be sure to go by the Visitors center first, not last, like we did to get a map or two...we didnt see any signs for a Visitors Center, just happened to find it. Well be back for sure, and be more prepared.
Beautiful place for a hike. There are so many different trails to explore for all levels!
Very good p look ace for a walk
Great place to walk or bike. Get out the kids, load up the bikes, an LIVE!

Fantastic place to gaze out on the views and walk around and explore. We just love going there. Beautiful place.
Its ok for a walk. Picnic tables have maggots underneath with plenty of flies saying hello. Besides that, BORING!!!

Awesome walk, hike with views
Quabbin Reservoir is such a wonderful place!Lots of trails for walking, biking, running, and rollerblading. You can park at the main entrance where the state police have their station.Lots to see, have a picnic on the grass, bring the family. No dogs are allowed except service animals.
Very scenic, relaxing and calm place. Good place to spend a day or half for walking/hiking or picnic. As the reservoir is for public drinking water supply, restrictions on going close to water.
Great short little road stop, cool views. Recommend if your passing by, might be other cool things to do around the reservoir too.
Great family place with great views. Great place for walking.
Peaceful place and relaxing.nice views.
I keep visiting this place with my family in every season very calm. excellent sunsey view. very safe for walk or jog. good to visit for photography with tripod
Fresh water and not too many people
Beautiful Area to bring the family and go hiking or just to come out to meditate. No drones. No Dogs. No Swimming. Scenic overlooks and miles of well maintained trails.
Most folks speak of the vast beauty of the Quabbin Park, and this is true, it is an awesome site to see. That being said, you all need to check out the Fishing areas. Do a bit of homwork and for about the same price as going out to eat you can spend the day on the water. Very impressive.
Great place to clear your head and ground yourself.
Nicely maintained park. Go each season for the full nature change.
Should remember more often to get out in fresh air. Gorgeous!
A beautiful place to visit.
Always a peaceful, quite place to walk.
Simply beautiful and easy parking
The Quabbin is one of the most relaxing places to visit in western mass. Despite the history behind its making, it is a great place to walk, hike, bike and overall appreciate nature.
A great place to get back to nature. Rent a boat or fish or hike or just have a picnic. Quiet. Serene. Scenic.
Its so relaxing and calm and peaceful and people seem to take that extra second just to nod their head say hello its like all the stress and tension just leaves your body the air theyre so sweet and has such a call me Factor great place to take the grandkids for walks they get to see some of the wildlife in its natural habitat I dont know who enjoys it more the kids or me
Love to walk here so peaceful and it was nice to see the spillway going over
Very peaceful and a wonderful place to visit.
Great area to explore. Wouldve been 5 star if trails to tower were better marked. We took an un-scenic route up power lines. Wasnt until 3/4 of the way up did we find an unmarked trail to tower.
Beautiful scenery, interesting history, well-maintained park/reservation. Helpful staff.
The tower is a must place on a clear day. Very peaceful and calm.
A great place to go for a walk and enjoy beautiful scenery.
So much to do. A great family atmosphere!!
A beautiful place to walk, enjoy the view, and be in contact with nature.
Love this as a nature walk so peaceful and serene
Both the freshwater reserve supply for the city of Boston and a local forest park good for hiking and picnicking. Some limited boating and fishing in designated areas (permit required).
Beautiful. Well kept.
Took nice MC ride around reservoir
Great place to walk, run, bike ride or picnic. Stunning scenery and occasional wildlife including deer, birds, turkeys and even eagles.
