I live within walking distance of gates 3 4 and 5 and I walk there quite frequently. I havent been going so much lately because there have been a lot of bear sightings in my neighborhood. The rest of the Quabbin is very nice. There are fascinating pieces of history to explore at the visitor center and many more walks to do throughout the reservoir.

Great place to take the family. Walk, run, bike, or just have a picnic. Bring out what you bring in as there is no trash. No dogs allowed and stay out of the water. Fishing allowed from gates 8 to 43.

It is one of the best scenic views I have ever seen. With the clear blue water and green mountains, Walking through the path near the lake was refreshing. I would strongly suggest you to stop by if you are in the area.

Excellent state park with great and interesting trails. Beautiful views and shoreline walks. Porta-johns were clean and recently maintained. Went yesterday hoping for fall foliage, but, it was too soon this year. Highly recommended for visiting.Lunch at nearby at Russos Lakeside steak and seafood. Scallop and shrimp tacos - you dont need salsa just use the cold slaw with added black pepper - excellent. 2 mai-tais using golden non-spiced rum (some off brand that was fine) and watching 3 bald eagles with 1 catching a fish.Highly recommended for both places.

I just love it here. Its my zen. SO peaceful and beautiful. Go there before sunset and watch the clouds, lakes, and islands on top. I wish that they change the windows on top floor of the tower and keep it open a little bit after sunset so people can enjoy the sunset there. I understand it is hard to evacuate the park after dark, but it is so sad to miss the sunset in fear of getting locked in the park or honked by the angry park guard. They keep the whole park very neat. I absolutely love it. I should check out the fall down the road next time that Im going there.

This place is something everyone should see before they die. The Windsor Dam is vast and there are hidden gems throughout the four flooded towns they made to create Bostons water supply.

Went to acquire some photos and then found out that the brush is grossly overgrown on the downstream side of the Keyhole Bridge. Quabon is a lot more than the Visitors Station. Would have selected 5 Stars except the park department needs to clean the brush from the advantage view sights. Waited until the leaves were gone since they blocked the view from upstream also, these too need to be cleaned.Did manage to get some photos from upstream. Enjoy my photos, some need to be copyrighted, those are all on my better Cameras. If you want to print your photos, use a good Camera, Hand Held Electronical Device just doesnt do justice, for the quality. My photos are from the spill way and weir area. Walk across the Dam or drive in the Middle Gate. Surprised to get the, I believe, Eagle. Photos have different lighting since from separate dates.Much better viewing in person since perspective is maintained. Check the Munskin on top of the Bridge in one of my shots, it added some perspective to the size of the area.Really wanted a shot from downstream looking upstream at the Bridge, watters were discharging over the spill way modderitly and would have made a nice photo of the Rapids just past the Bridge, able to hear it but unable to see it.So anyways our Grandparents have done an amazing job since the dams installation still performs like it should as it did back in circa 1940s.Dont forget the like buttons on the photos too. Thanks.Mr. P says

Beautiful scenery! Bicycled around and enjoyed it, but wasnt sure where the trails were. Be sure to go by the Visitors center first, not last, like we did to get a map or two...we didnt see any signs for a Visitors Center, just happened to find it. Well be back for sure, and be more prepared.

Most folks speak of the vast beauty of the Quabbin Park, and this is true, it is an awesome site to see. That being said, you all need to check out the Fishing areas. Do a bit of homwork and for about the same price as going out to eat you can spend the day on the water. Very impressive.
