I live fairly close by and have been wanting to walk through the park, but Ive found it kind of scary. That changed today. The forest is lovely and well used by other members of my neighborhood. Im looking forward to exploring the other trails.

Wonderful place to walk around. Pet and kid friendly. Also a fun place to trade painted rocks! If you find any, post on the Facebook site listed on the back of the rock!

I love this place. I used to live right next door, but now I have to drive a couple miles. It is well worth it. I fell in March over a big tree root, and cracked my rib, so you have to be looking at your feet and go slow because they are everywhere. Still, even with the tree roots and the sound of a coyote I heard yesterday, it wont keep us away. Hyland park forest is a sanctuary for the soul searcher with hidden gnome homes placed by children. My dog loves it! Saw my first ever Owl too. He was huge!

Best place to take kids into a forest in the middle of the burbs. There is a kid friendly section that allows them to be kids:build forts, dig holes, look for critters, be free, find sticks, hike around. It seems to be like 10* cooler in there on hot days. My go to place when the kids need relief from the blazing sun and we still want to be outdoors.

Great little loop in the middle of the suburbs! Its at least 10 degrees cooler under the canopy of trees. I went on a really hot day and was instantly cooled off when I was walking around the trail. Its super close to Sexton Mountain as well, check that out afterwards!

Great walking trails, always friendly people but never too busy, and my dog loves it here. Right in our neighborhood, too. There’s even a designated Nature Play Area where you can explore and play IN the goodness, off trail! There’s always some different, cool structures that somebody’s built there with sticks and such.

Nice walking trail in a cute neighborhood. Theres an outer loop that most people walk/run, the inside trails are nature play areas but also great for walking around. The inside trails are little confusing because there is no map but its a small park so youll find your way out no problem. Some gravel, mostly dirt paths. There are tree roots sticking out to look out for. There are trash bins at every entrance to the park, which there are quite a few. Didnt really see much littering which was awesome.

A great park for getting out and escaping. Nice people who frequent along with the occasional group of teenagers cosplaying or filming their fortnite dance challenges. Really anything can happen here and thats what makes it so magical. A few months ago we met a caterpillar (Bob) in the middle of the trails and we have it transportation to a safe nearby log. Awhile later we came back and there was a butterfly so we like to think that was him. Anyways, that moment was only possible because this place enabled it!

This is a really delightful walk. Not overly rugged so child and elder friendly ; able bodied folk actually run the trails, but those of us who need to watch where we go can enjoy a very pleasant stroll with our leashed dog. All the trails connect and intersect so you can adventure without getting lost and enjoy the woodland setting and the suprising level of quiet

I came to Oregon for business and googled scenic places. So glad I stumbled across this trail. It’s absolutely beautiful. You have to park in front of the locals homes, but they don’t mind at all. Everyone is super friendly and this trail is breath taking. It was my first time walking a trail in nature. It was a nice size but not so big to get lost. No matter what path you take, it brings you right back around. I got a chance to take amazing photos on my phone. Pics don’t do this place any justice.

Ive only been hiking/trail running here once, and it was just around dusk and getting dark. In spite of that, I had a great time with the small hills and the not-too-technical paths. There was still some rocks and roots to watch out for, including a very strange looking squirrel. Otherwise, Ill definitely be back, only during the morning or midday.

This park is magical! Right when you walk in, you enter a different world. I thought I was in the middle of the woods, then looked on the map and remembered that Im in the middle of town. There are Natural Play Areas where you can build teepees and forts! The trail isnt pathed, which is awesome, but it also is well kept, so no sink holes, missing trails, or random trees in the middle of the trail.

My family and I enjoy walking through this park nearly every day of the year. The new gravel makes for a more secure footing. My only complaint: please keep your dog(s) on a leash! It is rude, no excuses!Update 8/2020 - THPRD added Please keep your dog on a leash signs at each entrance. Thank you THPRD!

Hyland Forest Park has a perimeter trail that is just under a mile, along with some cross-connector trails. It can be easily accessed off SW 135th and Davies or SW Sexton Mountain Drive and Murray. There are many neighborhood access points as well. In the summer, the foliage blocks out a lot of the sun so you can run or walk here without getting as hot. There are not any drinking fountains or bathrooms so come prepared. Many people walk or run with dogs off leash here so if that bothers you, you will want to be aware of that situation. Most people will try to corral their dogs when they see someone else but its not always possible, Ive only encountered friendly dogs there. Keep in mind if you go with your dog that there is one pond area so youll probably need a bath. The trail is is mainly wide singletrack (some places you can run 2 abreast but not all). Some areas are muddy while there is one stretch of pea gravel. There are some hills but nothing out of control. You can take a jogging stroller on the trail but its better just for walking, as there are some big roots youll have to go over.

The stars indicate how irritated I am at google, not at how good or bad this park is. I have never been here but, Google keeps insisting that I have. This time there was not even an option to dismiss or, say I have not been here. I found it greatly annoying so, I am writing this in place of a review for a park that, I have never been to.
