We enjoyed our golf experience completely. Very nice and somewhat challenging course for sure. The ice cold beer was a huge bonus. A good time was had by all. We will be back.

It’s a pretty small golf course in a small town of Beaver Dam, WI. Roughs are very thick and hard to get out. Greens were very slow but maybe it’s a seasonal issue. Other than that, it was very pleasant playing on the course. It is a walkable course, taking you probably around three hours to play. Very tranquil to play as you don’t see many people on the course. The course would definltey play differently if the greens were faster.

Its a nice course. Even though it was later in the season, the course was in good shape. Staff was friendly and it was a challenging course.

Our group of 12 drove up from Madison to play as we do each summer. Good value and worth the drive to play this 100 year old classic parkland style course. In the past 10 years the course was in the best condition I have played. Greens were true and quick. fairways and rough well maintained. Sand traps could use work as a number had snirt (dirt and sand mixture). However we saw a crew adding sand and re-digging the edges on several traps so I will give them the benefit of the doubt that others will be fixed soon.

Amazingly beautiful and challenging course with many rolling hills. Quaint bells. Wonderful views all over..and well taken care of and groomed. Dinner on the tiki lit patio was delicious from drinks through entrees to desert with very reasonable prices. Perfect place for a round of relaxing golf, lunch, dinner or a wedding and reception setting. I will be back.

Beautiful golf course great for the whole family.. You get to ring a bell on certain holes.. bring extra golf balls some holes have tricky features...very well maintained and nice greens.

Golfed today with 3 others. Greens were as good as any Ive played this season to date. Unlike what was listed on their website the ball is allowed to drop into the cup..not a raised liner which would be a deal breaker for me. Course in great shape and carts available. Will be back.

I am a new member this spring. I could not be more pleased with the entire experience to date. The course always presents some challenges. But it’s not a problem... when hitting it straight. I believe it is simply one of the best tracks within an hour of Madison.

So disappointed in the food. We used to go here regularly before the new owners. Haven’t been since Winter, before the pandemic. We were excited to try the food after not having been in a while. Well we were very disappointed!! We sat down and waited 20 mins before our sever came over. Asked for a drink menu and they did not have one. I asked what kind of red wine they have and she said “Merlot, Cabernet, Pinot noir”. For the prices and atmosphere of this place you’d think the server could give some idea of their wine selection. But nope. I just order Pinot noir not knowing what kind and how much it was going to cost ($9/glass and not very good BTW).I had the cedar plank salmon which was mediocre. It had a sweet chili sauce that clearly came from a jar. I did not want a starch so I order double asparagus which ended up being a pretty small serving for a double order. I paid $22 for the salmon and I could have made it at home cheaper and better.One person in our party got tater tots with their fish. You’d think with the prices they’d had fresh made tater tots. Nope, just plain old tater tots that again, we could have made at home from a bag. Someone else in our party got fries. Again, boring frozen fries. I like the seasoned fries they used to have. I asked our server how the Mac n cheese was prepared (baked, etc). She said she had no idea. The Mac n cheese was awful. I got a to go order for our daughter that got off of work later. It had a super odd taste like truffle oil?? I have no clue as the menu did not describe it and the server couldn’t say.Overall we paid $95 for 3 people. We should have eaten at Culvers. Will not be going back any time soon.

Adam in the Pro shop is great. Incredibly helpful and helped me out with an issue I was having with some clubs. Service has been great here and the course is gorgeous.

Excellent friday perch fry

Enjoy Tuesday night pastas. Great tasting food on Friday nights. Get there early to enjoy the view.

Course was in good shape. Fairways well watered. Greens were rolled short and fast. Rough was deep enough to hide balls. Made it difficult to get out.

Tuesday night All You Can Eat Pasta Bar is absolutely exceptional. Individually cooked so you can pick your favorite sauce, meats, pasta, and veggies. Chef was amazing and entertaining to watch!! Friendly staff and clean. After dinner drink on patio overlooking golf course was a perfect way to end a great meal. Highly recommend.

Dined with friends....Food was excellent...Service was very good!!...We started with cocktails (Yummy pumpkin pie martini) & Good conversation...We moved to our Dinner table & Dined on fish & several different entrees. The servers were prompt and friendly. Always a pleasant experience.

Beautiful and challenging course in excellent condition. The bar was cozy and clean and had good food and drink offerings on a late season day. We will definitely go back for another round here. Great day.

Top notch course

Was there for my cousins wedding, looked like a nice place. Appeared newer, and to be a pretty nice clean place. Honestly seemed nicer than the other country club in the area which we went to on accident and had a wedding reception going at the same time. The steak was rather sub par, according to me and others at our table, but the rest of the food was pretty good. The bar does have Spotted Cow on tap, so if you prefer a bit nicer of a beer, they have that, and of course some of your usual Miller and Budweiser. Of course this was a wedding, so this may not speak to day to day usage of the facility.

Played Memorial Day weekend. $61 for this course is a joke. Roughs not cut. Mowing greens in the middle of the round. No ranger for slow play. Unplayable bunkers with weeds marked white for free drop. They will be there to clean your clubs before you putt out on 18th green?? Skip the cleaning of clubs and work on course conditioning. This place was nice in past years...what happened??

Came tonight for the Friday fish fry & it was amazing. They have many things on the menu to choose from, too.Then we toured the course - looks like a great challenge and its simply one of the most beautiful courses Ive seen! I WILL be back to golf.

Was there for a company banquet. Bartenders and wait staff was awesome. Food was great. Would definitely recommend to go there.

Half the course was closed to carts due to rain. Having come from 70 miles away, this would have been nice to know when I made the t-time. Nice course,what i played of it.

One of the nicest courses that Ive golfed this year. Greens were top notch. Course was in excellent condition. I will return!

The essence of the game is magnified on this course. Never before have I played a course that played so true. Fast and firm rolling fairways that are cut just right, greens are in pristine condition and that old school feel of how a golf course should be. No houses line the course and the trees give the course a slight challenge. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the golfing experience for the price. You wont regret coming to play here!

I heard a lot of good reviews of this course. Today must have been an outlier. When we arrived at the pro shop, none of the carts we cleaned or washed. The course was in good shape, that is if you avoided the flooded bunkers. We lost 3 balls throughout the round since 75% of the green side bunkers were flooded with enough water to make it impossible to retrieve your ball. Overall, Im not a fan of the design of the course. If you enjoy rolling hills where you dont see half of your tee shots or approach shots, then this course is for you. I doubt Ill go back to Old Hickory again, or recommend the course to a fellow golfer.

Great routing, but needs a giant windstorm to get rid of all the trees. Gil hanse or tom doak could do wonders for this place because its a great piece of property

Awesome place for day meetings. Great salad, sandwich and soup buffet..Can not wait to try them for a Fish Fry or Pasta night.

Waitstaff understaffed. Drink served not as ordered. Promised bread but had to ask twice to get it. After salads were served asked if we wanted our bill before dinner even arrived. Ordered Bananas Foster creme brulee No Bananas no whip cream available. Had to ask that fruit be added because of missing ingredients. Other than that had a good time well give it a second try.

Old Hickory is simply a great golf course, club and value. Look forward to playing Old Hickory again this summer while on vacation. I appreciate the fact that they still send me E-mail specials, events and more - even though I live in Texas. Their website is always updated, the food is awesome, customer service is outstanding - nothing but great stuff going on at OHGC.

Really disappointed 2nd time in a row. Dont eat here if you have a small party and dont want to wait an hour for your food. They will serve larger parties first and you will wait a long time if you come with only 2 people. Large group of golfers smoking by the entrance and almost got run over by a couple golfers driving recklessly in their cart. This place use to be good. Will stay away for a long time.

Really nice course with electric carts and GPS built in. Twilight rate is unbeatable: $30 for 18 with a cart.

Used a power cart for 1-6, walked 7-14, then power cart 15-18 pro shop says was too wet for holes 7-14 and there was a cart path on those holes pro shop could have let us use power cart for all 18.
