I am the most protective mother when it comes to my non verbal handicapped young adult. I trust these amazing people with one of the most precious pieces of my soul, I have three children, only one is handicapped. If you are concerned with the facility I suggest you go visit, ask questions and do your own due diligence. I brought every family member involved in my sons life to visit the facility and ask questions. I would NEVER take another persons word in regards to my child’s care. Do your own work, ask your own questions. If you see a problem, question them. They have always been completely open and honest with me regarding my son. I am truly blessed that a facility exists for he and the other consumers to attend, learn, and most of all, have FUN at The Rec. ️

Love working with the consumers theyre so sweet..... I didnt like working there because the management team and owner doesnt know how to talk to their employees. I feel if I talk to you an treat you with respect you should do the same. I wish them nothing but the best an God bless them.

My son was one of the first to attend the REC, from day one it has been amazing. Best place for intellectual disabilities in our community, or possibly the entire state of Texas.I worked for Department of Aging and Development and the local IDD-A. There is no comparison to what goes on there.REC is A individualize program. Offering, sports and leisure activities. The have a commercial kitchen to teach cooking and food service skills. Small animals for those with interest in working with animals. A built up garden, pottery, art, music are also offered.A fully stocked gym, including machines for school age children, inspires healthy living.Competitive spirit is alive and well in this program, both team and individual games and races take place weekly. Everything from Bingo to monster truck RC races.I could not ask for a more perfect environment for him to spend his time.Edie Comeaux, mother of Ben Comeaux
