Its basically a dozen different exhibits that try to justify the need for the biggest pollutant known to mankind.. petroleum.Designed for kids, obviously, a brainwashing session. You can tell they spend alot of money to keep this place open
Enjoyed this informative museum. Showed the development and integration of oil exploration and refining in TX and surrounding areas. I skimmed over the science oriented exhibits as my brain is not oriented but my husband was fascinated. Only $5. Led to a lively conversation about many aspects of oil business and its place in society. Also the museum left out any political commentary or leanings, which was appreciated.
I work in the energy sector, and I appreciated the demonstration of how technology advanced from slave labor, to whale oil to modern energy modes. There was very little on nuclear or where energy is going for the future. It was NOT good for the small children, as it is dependent on a lot of reading and understanding of chemistry. Not very interactive.
Came here for the first time last Saturday morning. The front desk had a sign that we had to pay and to wait for someone to assist us. No one was at the desk. No one came for twenty minutes. I didnt feel comfortable there since it was completely vacant with no workers. We were extremely disappointed. We wont be coming back.
This is such a special Musuem. Must visit! Lots to see and learn and the exhibits are in pristine condition.
Really nice museum! For $5, it is well worth it! If are in Beaumont, stop in and learn something.
Really cool info. Needs more traffic to be able to keep up exhibits.
A friend recommend that I stop by. I am glad they did. I went in and paid the admission price. The museum is very educational. There are only a few items that are hand on educational, most displays are are read or audio. The museum seems have been designed by engineers, so I enjoy it. It would be helpful if they had more hands on displays for younger children. The viscosity display and gravity wall is just not enough. More displays for young children would be great. I did enjoy my visit.
I loved the demonstration of crude oil refining process
Fun. Great Pokemon location also. If you are looking for a interesting and affordable time, come here.
Lots of information, very nice atmosphere too!
Took my kids. Ive been here a couple of times. Staff is always friendly, and very helpful. If youre looking for a good museum, this is the place to be. Also very helpful in finding other locations to visit.

Nice place to visit
Great displays. Very educational. Fun gravity wall.
Great place to visit
I was impressed with the wealth of knowledge about how oil formed in the earth and the historical account of mans use of energy producing products. The Lucas and Spindletop displays on the 2nd floor showed the signifigance of Beaumont in Texan and American history.
One of Beaumonts finest museums.
Awesome staff
If you are a Lamar University student show them your ID. I loved that they had a lot on the history, how things tie in, they also explained the processes and had models of equipment, etc. A place worth checking out if you are in the area.
