My family and I attended a Bob Ross instructional painting night the gallery hosted. It was a great time and our instructor Spencer was a lot of fun. I would definitely recommend one of these nights to anyone who is looking for something to do on a night out.

I have exhibited my (paper dresses and oil paintings) work here in juried and invitational exhibitions numerous times. Wonderful and personable gallery. Very talented Michigan artists show here, and the openings are so much fun. Studio 23 teaches a wonderful variety of classes at all levels.

This gallery has lots of awesome art and it is a great place to learn to increase your skills in the various classes they offer. Staff is great.

Wonderful art gallery that offers more classes than a city Bay Citys size normally has. So glad I joined.

It was my first visit inside Studio 23. I stopped specifically to see the Tribute to Bay City in Legos which was amazingly done! I did not realize how much local talent they highlight or that you could take art lessons or that children could do art themed birthday parties there. How cool is that! Will definitely be stopping in more often.

I dont like posting negative comments but I have to detail our experience with Studio 23 so people get both sides. I was very excited to take this course, pondered a bit because of the price. My girlfriend and I took the pottery class. Sorry to say it was very disorganized and the instructors did not teach, partly because they had too many students. One of my friends pieces is still missing. I went 5x in the course of 6 weeks to see if our pieces had been done and out of the kiln. I asked for someone to call me when they were done and no one called, I had to keep returning. For our last class, due to Covid, we were in the studio without direction. No instructor bothered to phone in or video chat to see if us newbies needed anything. We were left on our own. So, when my carved piece, the only one I was excited about, came out of the kiln uncarved, she told me that happens with some glazes. I told her no one was here to teach us that or help me pick the right glaze, and that we would probably not be returning. She had an I dont care attitude.They never offered us a refund for our last class without an instructor nor a discount if we returned for another. I understand Covid really interfered with business, but there is definitely a lack of customer service here. Not worth the value for the expensive price.

A very nice gallery for the size of Bay City. Mostly local artist who are part of the non profit business model. High quality art at good prices.

Good place for creative people

Was here for painting class. Made us feel like we could create anything, and that all our paintings were wonderful. We really enjoyed it.

Great place to view artist work and to create art of your own, with qualified teachers in a friendly, fun environment.

Gallery is great, the lady at the front desk was rude and didnt want to help at all. Purchased a painting, then AFTER she told me that it may not be a week until Im able to get it, since its still on display (Im not from around here, and wouldnt have been able to come back to pick it up). She asked me if I wanted it wrapped, like obviously, I paid 200$ for a painting.

Studio 23 is a great place to be if you love art. I take classes there and the teacher is very helpful and nice. They change their exhibits frequently. They have fun workshops and contests. The art is displayed all around the studio, if your looking for an art class this is the place. I highly recommend it if you love art.

Im a volunteer here and everything about this place is great! The staff is nice, the classes are very informative, and the shows are always interesting. Please come see if you very the chance!

The staff are very friendly and the changing galleries are incredible. Free admission and just a great place to stop in every so often to admire a variety of arts. And lots of local art! This place is one of the coolest are museums I have gone to and its right near the water and several coffee shops. Wonderful place!

Have been coming here since I was a kid. Excellent example of Bay Citys art culture.

I love the small laid back painting class. I get to paint what I want and no sketchbook and grades to worry about. We talk about our pets and kidsand listen to music. We bring in snacks. You can miss a class if you need to. The instructor is friendly and funny. He is always ready to help if you want advice. The studio brings in art exhibits to look at. While you are taking the class you get a pass for nearby parking so you do not run afoul of the free time limited parking space enforcer that probably catches more offenders than even Mad Dog the bounty hunter and his wife.

Lot of talented artists in Bay County. Would love to have my art shown there someday soon ️️

I attended the Sip and Swirl event and found it very enjoyable. As someone who lacks experience in painting, I was never worried about falling behind or messing up. The instructor was friendly, knowlegdable, and kept a good pace. This made it easy to focus on having a good time. I cant wait to do it again!

I lived here for about 20 years and never knew Bay City had an art gallery. Amazing! This is a must see place if youve never been.

Somehow I thought this place would be pretentious but it is not! Warn and friendly with classes designed just for you.
