Rented the Independence Brec Room this weekend for a baby shower and I’ve been regretting it every since. I will NEVER rent a room here or recommend it to anyone. Room was nice and clean when we came and the same when we left, which left me puzzled when I received a call from Ms Mycia the supervisor on that Monday saying that they were going to have to hold my security deposit of $150.00 for damage. The damage was allegedly that a vent for the a/c was removed and that the a/c protector box was removed in order to change the temperature. Neither object was damage just tampered with supposedly; Both of which me or my guest did not take part in. There is a Camara stationed in the room above the unit which you would think would aid in providing just who detached the box but surprisingly no one is authorized to pull the footage. Go figure! Long story short no one pulled the footage but they did come back and admitted the vent was open before we set up with no apology or anything but still charging me the same $75 for the a/c box. Ran my whole deposit check and never call/email to give me instructions on how I would receive the remaining amount. Customer service skill were garbage. I hope the 75 dollar goes toward something much need because they won’t need it to put the box back on the wall it’s probably already fixed lol Never ever ever again!!!!! This was all unnecessary. I have been telling this story to others and I have found a few other people who believe things made up and in order to keep there deposit as well at different Brec centers.. I just wish I had heard the stories before I went to Brec.
