I’m a little, but not terrible surprises by some the the past reviews for this place. My husband and I had a few date nights here since we’ve been living in Baton Rouge...about 2 years. I have lived in Memphis, Atlanta, and Miami Beach where the nightlife of plentiful and exciting. City Bar is actually pretty cool. I liked the 2 floors of different music. The bartenders were relatively friendly. The first floor seems more chill. Upstairs they have a nice light show. They play a variety of music. I felt safe with the bouncers around. I would definitely visit again.

Many, many, many people have been roofied here. This is not hearsay.

Went out to enjoy my birthday and was dancing upstairs to music having a good time then I got tapped on shoulder and was told that the boss said I had to leave. Asked what exactly I did wrong and was given no answer just that I need to go. I think the place sucks and wouldnt recommended it to anyone. Me and my friend went across the street to 1913 club had a great time till they closed. So my birthday wasnt that bad after all thanks to 1913

Was good places but one Bar tender ruined the night with smart ass comments, walked away from customer . had another server do her job. We will never be back here because of her Service. Red Stick Mag needs to review this places . poor service cost owners money! This is a young collage crowd but servers behind Bar are rude and need to be trained in service .Cost Bar money! Was enjoing the night till rude service. SECURITY was great felt safe and rest of staff was awsome. Mananger was asked to talk to Employee which fliped us off and was rude again. They need to fire that Employee which will cost them money.

I use to come when I was younger and play the machines one time my friend stop to use the bathroom and I stuck a quarter in the machine and hit a royal I won a hundred

This place is a hit or miss....If you are black 7 times out of 10 it will be a miss. Some nights they want their everyone else to black ratio 4-1 and only if youre the black that want to be white type! Ive witnessed young black men being shunned because of snapbacks but white males let in with dad caps....black females turned around for identical outfits as white counterparts only because it was baggy on the white and actually fit the black female! If you can actually get in the bartenders are decent at most. Depending on the DJ as at any bar it can make or break the night!

Not a lot of alcohol in mixed drinks. Had a woman try to drug my friend here at an edm show.

City bar is the best club in baton rouge hands down great staff and very diverse crowd

Very nice downtown bar. Perfect for mid to late 20s and 30s ages, not many college kids from LSU wander out to city bar. Very nice environment, beautiful waitresses, good drinks and service.

Owner is very nice and music is really good , drinks are not too high . its a nice spot for a younger crowd , for bdays or just going out dress code i noticed no solid black shirts allowed

The bar itself is cool, the people that go there are horrible. Worst, creepiest, most disgusting crowd Ive ever been in. Its worth going if you enjoy being creeped on by dudes and watching people be ratchet (which is pretty entertaining to be honest).

Some friends wanted to bring me out for my 50th birthday and I thought what the heck...why not? Im a rocker and I love loud guitars, so I was a bit out of place...but new experiences are cool and I really had a great time...10pm till the place closed. Throwback Friday was very cool...the DJ was most excellent with his mixes and threw in some nice vintage curveballs. I believe his name is Chris and Im embarrassed that I cant remember his last name because he nailed it. 4 stars is because I found the drink prices to be outrageous. Sorry:(

Looks like it would of been good if it wasnt for the racist bouncer kicking every colored person out the line before even going in. Making up excuses and said its up to my discretion if you can go in. Pure b.s.

Went there after Spanish Town Parade. Dont remember much but my fiancee said I enjoyed it and had a good time.

Anyone who is a race other than white please read. When my friends and I waited in line once we got to the front of the line the bouncer stated you and your friends need to get out of this line word for word. If youre a race other than white do not spend your hard earned money here. These people are extremely racist. I am very disappointed with the quality of respect I received from the staff of this club, I will never attempt to spend my money here again and neither should you.

Full of dude bros and douchey people sometimes. Dont go here if you are on 3rd street unless you like that sorta crowd and environment.

This place is always packed on the weekends, as in wall to wall people. Very difficult to move around and drink service can be slow depending on the crowd.

The dress code is outrageous, the people there are suck and the drinks are over priced. Cant wear animal print, cant wear comfy clothes, I couldnt wear white heels, cant have ANY tattoos. its so discriminating lol 9 dollars for a flipping shot of whiskey, are you serious? Is it magic whiskey? Is it served out of Jesuss shoe? Lol Bye felicia
