Terramor was a fantastic experience even with a 2 year old. The showers were always hot, the bed was huge, and the scenery was amazing. We were there the last night they were open and it did get chilly, but the blankets provided were more than enough. We will definitely be back again! Highly recommend.

Such a special spot for a nature getaway. You get the best of both worlds...beautiful outdoor setting plus conveniences like lanterns and electricity, comfy beds, and modern bathrooms. Outdoor field next to lodge was great for family time games like badminton, corn hole, and croquet. Beautiful pool and relaxing hot tub. Towels provided. Gravel winding paths add to the woodsy feel. Great location too. Close to Acadia and Bar Harbor. Kitchen was working out some kinks, but staff was hard working and accommodating. Front desk staff friendly and helpful too. Loved the private fire pit. Tents were beautiful! Can’t wait to come back!!

Nice place to stay, friendly staff, cool vibe. This was Glamping- nice upscale tents and amenities with a campground like feel. Like a campground, you can hear your neighbors sometimes, and depending on the tent location may feel more or less private. Our tent was at the back of a loop and a bit off the path, so it felt much more private than one of the tents on the edge of the field. Although the bathroom and bunks were separated off it wasn’t a complete separation so it felt like everyone was in the same room. Definitely kept up with the camping feel, but with some comfortable amenities. Perhaps a bit pricy, but again, glamping, so to be expected.Lodge and pool were cool, cozy areas, but I’m sure COVID prevented us and others from using them to their fullest potential. The light breakfast and coffee was great. Nothing fancy, but a little muffin/pastry, yoghurt to get us started.

Had a great experience at Terramor! The property is beautiful, staff was friendly and helpful. Our unit was very clean, shower was amazing, and the tents were fully stocked with everything needed, including a small space heater that warmed the tent up during cold nights. Loved the private fire pit - just make sure you bring some spare newspaper to get it started! Will be back!

Spent three nights at Terramor for a special occasion trip and had an excellent time. Would recommend it to anybody, and definitely plan on returning! We had low expectations after reading some of the early reviews but did not experience ANY of the named issues. Tent was well stocked and very clean. Included bath robes, stocked toiletries, plenty of towels, upscale tea and coffee supplies, cups and wine glasses, and a small cooler (would recommend bringing your own in addition if you have more than a few cans or are also storing food). We did not need anything added or restocked. We enjoyed the private fire pit every night of our stay. The first bundle of wood was free, and ice was available from the main lodge as well. Food was excellent in the main lodge at dinner time - and Erika in the kitchen and Marissa and Louis at the bar provided fantastic service and fun conversation. To address the noise complaints - yes - you do hear minimal road noise and people do wake up and drive out early to catch the sunrise - but this is well within what we would have expected for ANY property on a small and busy island and did not subtract from our experience at all. We truly had no complaints.

We had a great time at Terramor! We came about a month after it opened to celebrate our anniversary. The “tent” is very luxurious with a double vanity and a double shower (and a toilet). It was also great to have our own firepit (and complimentary bag of firewood) right next to the tent! The staff at the lodge was very friendly as well. The food at the lodge is good, and the resort is about 15-20 minutes from everything you want to see in Acadia. Definitely recommend it!

Our family of four (two and adults and two children - 6 & 3) spent the last 5 nights at Terramor and we left wishing it could have been more. We hope to be able to visit again. The tent was incredible, the beds were soft and WARM, the water was hot, the lodge was relaxing and cozy, the grounds were beautiful, the hot tub was perfect, and the staff were very helpful. It was exactly what we expected and we wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else on the island. To address some of the concerns in other reviews... Noise - we love to tent camp and if you have ever been tent camping you know that there is a certain level of noise from other sites and from traffic you will inevitably deal with. However, we were not impacted in any way by noise at Terramor. Cost - for this unique experience they can charge what they want if people are willing to pay for it. Don’t look at this as a cheap option to hotel because it is not that. While it seems like future rates have unfortunately gone up we felt VERY satisfied with what we paid for this experience. Kinks - we did feel that there were a number of things that will be improved as they go. You could feel that certain kinks had not been worked out due to being a new resort with a short season. When visiting Maine (especially in the fall towards the end of season) be prepared for small business to close, or limit their menus, or change their hours/days of operation with little notice. We felt that at the resort a bit with bar hours, food service, happy hour changing, etc. But again, nothing we didn’t expect.Again - we will be back. We absolutely loved our time at Terramor, and I have no doubt this place will be in HIGH demand for a long time to come. One of the most memorable places we have stayed anywhere.

Its definitely overpriced. I had a lot of the same issues as others- they dont walk you to your tent to show you how anything works (or doesnt work). I asked for a flash light after first night -fair enough they dont have- but at least tell us the lights by bed come off the wall to act as a lantern. Its cute enough- but grounds arent special- or close enough to warrant cost. Staff is very nice, but seem very inexperienced overall. Shower is great- for sure.Food however is amazing- like truly delicious. No, they didnt have breakfast- but no matte. The dinner from Dakota was out of this world- we told other people to just go for dinner- Dakotas cooking is fantastic. We wanted the experience to warrant the cost, but had a nice time.

Would rate a zero if possible. The customer service was so bad...on check in we were given no details on the property and literally just told our tent number. We had to ask for a ride to our tent in a golf cart to get our bags to the tent. No one then showed us where anything was in the tent let alone how to use anything. The dispensers in the shower were empty of shampoo and body wash so you know they are not attentive when people check out and they get it prepped for the next quests. We had to ask twice for then to fill these up. The beds were beyond TERRIBLE. Was the most uncomfortable mattress I have ever slept on and I have even tent camped a lot!! The tents are freezing in the morning and need a stove installed for heat, of course the heated blankets we paid for were no where to be found. The best advice I would give is wait for the Under Canvas location to open in Acadia. This place might have luxury resort in the title but is no where close to a resort or luxury. The tents are so close to one another we spent 1 night listening to the couple next to us argue until 1am. No hot breakfast is being served apparently due to Covid.

The one positive was the tent. Other than that I agree with all of the previous negative comments. Customer service and amenities were nonexistent. The website completely oversold The reality. The grounds are unkempt, staff was constantly on their cell phones, tents were very close together, no privacy. The restaurant was a joke. We were literally told the first night we arrived that they were out of food and could not feed us, even though there were staff members eating steak and pizza while sitting at the desk. The sandwiches advertised on the website were not even available and we were never reimbursed for the lack of breakfast. The advertised cuisine was one of the main reasons we booked there so we would not have to travel into Bar Harbor for everything But we did not get a single thing to eat at the lodge during our four night stay.I wrote a thoughtful email to the manager after our stay and never even Received a response. Clearly, they don’t care. Disappointing all around, not worth the money!

One of the best vacations I’ve experienced. Lodge is beautiful and the rooms give a great outdoor feel while still providing access to showers, electricity, and a super comfortable bed. Stars at night were spectacular and the campground was the perfect place to relax. The resort is only 30 minutes from bar harbor and 20 minutes from southwest harbor which allowed us to explore each day. Service was also responsive to my every need. Totally recommend this for someone looking for an outdoors vacation.

My wife and I recently spent a long weekend in Maine, hiking in Acadia National Park, enjoying Bar Harbor, and staying at Terramor Outdoor Resort. We very much enjoyed our stay, a unique mixture of enjoying the outdoors with the luxuries of good food, a fire pit, and a shower fit for a five-star hotel among other amenities. This being the first year the resort is open and dealing with the realities of Covid-19, the staff was extremely accommodating, and despite having to pare back some parts of the experience, the efforts were greatly appreciated to make the stay special. We would gladly go back but perhaps bring a bit warmer clothes as the mornings in September can be a bit cold. Every detail of the tents, lodge and grounds seem well planned to make the stay different but comfortable and very appropriate for the picturesque Mount Desert Island where it is located.

Can’t say enough good things about Terramor. The staff was so friendly and helpful and the tents and grounds were just gorgeous. There are a few little kinks that need to be worked out but knowing that they had only just opened, am positive they will work it out (I.e need some extra lighting in the tent). I’ve already booked for next season. Thank you for a wonderful stay! Can’t wait to see you next year!

Terramour is overpriced. Thats the issue. As many people stated here the tents are wondeful, the lodge is beautiful, and the pool is nice. The rest of the grounds are an after thought. The service is non-exisitent. This is not glamping. Its camping as this is a campground and nothing more. The notion that Terramour is a resort as suggested by their website and nightly rates are setting this otherwise great concept for failure.Whats not good: The grounds are a mess. The wonderful field they build up on their site hasnt been mowed in weeks. The fenced in area for the dogs is nicer. The area around the lodge for playing games is dead grass with a cheap badminton set. Its nearly impossible to get towels or any other necessities from the front desk and they answer the phone maybe 20% of the time. They have 1 tiny garbage can to serve a cluster of several tents. Its always full and overflowing. You have to police quiet hours. They start at 10:00pm - we had other campers being loud well past that to the point I had to get dressed and get out of my tent to ask them to settle down. Their after hours phone was not answered and the voicemail isnt even setup. The tents are close together, which is understandable, but my family had to listen to the tent next to us have sex, and again after hours phone was not answered to maybe ask them to keep it down... and it when on for a while (good for them I guess, bad for my 10 year old dauhgter). They dont bring you to your tent, they dont explain the over-hyped property, their kitchen is understaffed, and nobody asks how your stay is/was... they dont care. All for a fancy resort price. I understand working out the kinks, and having staffing issues, but you cant charge people $450/night until you have that sorted out.

This is not a luxury resort at all. It is camping with plumbing. There is no privacy. All the tent windows face common areas so you have to keep them closed so it’s pitch black in the tent. My fire pit faves our neighbor’s fire pit. The rooms are freezing in the fall—I imagine the heat in the summer would be unbearable. No extra blankets or pillows to be found. No robes or slippers as advertised. Thank god we packed blankets for picnics. We had to use those. My shower flooded the bedroom area and soaked my clothes. It was too cold outside for them to dry properly. Customer service was awful. The branding is misleading and false advertising. Also it’s 20 minutes away from hiking and 20 minutes from town. But no trails on site and no grills on site so you can’t even stay out if you wanted to. No fridge in the tent—just a soft sided cooler big enough for 6 cans. Couldn’t even fit leftovers from dinner so the tent smelled like leftovers.

Anyone who was disappointed clearly didn’t have the proper expectations for this place! Glamping is going to have some aspects of camping. You’re not checking into a hotel. You’re checking into a tent. That’s outdoors. But it’s also not a back country camping site miles from civilization. Which to us, was part of the reason we chose it. It’s close to Acadia and close to Bar Harbor. The staff were very sweet and attentive. The tent was just as well designed and thoughtfully crafted as advertised and I’m sorry, but the double shower head in our tent was pure genius. The food at the Lodge was stellar, the hot tub was hot, and although we were freezing as we got into bed (it was about 45 degrees), the duvet and wool blanket kept us plenty warm. Our tips: if you don’t want to go to the Lodge for your creamer in the morning when you make your coffee (there’s a chemex in the tent) grab some at dinner the night before, make sure to get robes, use the hair dryer they provide to get some warm air under the duvet before you get in!

As a way to go on vacation safely in the time of COVID, this place was perfect. The accommodations were very nice and spaced out. We felt very safe and that was worth the cost to us.If these were normal circumstances, I would have been underwhelmed. I know that they opened this summer, and still have some kinks to work out. Many of the listed amenities, such as the robes, seemed to vary from tent to tent (we were there with another couple who reserved an identical tent to ours). There was no where to hang your towels. The septic was giving off a very strong smell which made it difficult to sit outside.Additionally, some of their policies are frustrating. You only receive one bundle of wood with your reservation, regardless of how long youre staying. Additional bundles are $10, so bring your own. Packed lunches must be ordered the day prior, as must any of the fireside grill packages. They dont have fridges in the room, making it difficult to bring your own food to cook. And the wifi was essentially non existent. They did provide space heaters, which did a great job warming our tent at night and there were plenty of extra blankets. There are charging stations in the lot for electric vehicles. And the staff were very friendly and helpful. I hope that they take the feedback theyve been receiving to make this the premium experience theyve been advertising. As is, I dont think Ill be returning.

We bailed on Terramor after one night that was somehow both humid and frigid. The tents have no heat, so youll have to stay warm either under blankets or in the (quite nice) shower. After a hot shower, your belongings will be soaked due to humidity because the shower and the bed are in the same room. After your shower, you can go back to being cold, but the moisture will persist. We were told that the manager was at Walmart buying space heaters, and that it was unseasonably cold. Terramors claim about the weather being unseasonably cold is patently false, but regardless, 50F at night is quite chilly. Its comfortable under the covers, but you wouldnt want to hang out anywhere else in the tent.Luckily, a room at Harborside, which is both the fanciest hotel in Bar Harbor and the same price as Terramor(!), was available for the duration of our stay. We are so grateful. In addition to being comfortable, Harborside is incredibly well located. Its walking distance from both local culture and natural maritime beauty. Had we stayed at Terramor, every time we wanted to eat anywhere but Terramor would have been a 15 minute drive instead of a 2 minute walk.By the way, there is no longer hot gourmet breakfast at Terramor, as we were informed on arrival. See other reviews regarding the food situation at Terramor. You wont want to leave any valuables in your room at Terramor when you go out for the day to explore Acadia, because anyone can unzip the door and take what they please. I wouldnt be worried about this at a campground, but an expensive luxury resort seems like an obvious target for theft. A small safe and/or instructions on security would have helped with this. Its only going to get colder as winter approaches, but maybe the space heaters from Walmart will take the edge off.

The resort is situated right off of a main road. You could hear cars passing by throughout the day/evening. This obviously took away from the remote and secluded glamping experience we were expecting. The grounds are poorly maintained. There are fallen trees, broken branches and over-grown weeds throughout. The tents are beautifully laid out but could use additional lighting and a space heater.Due to excuse of COVID, the management informed us that there will be no hot breakfast available, only grab-n-go. As a result we received cereal bars, a piece of fruit (unripe banana or apple), coffee & juice. If you are lucky, you may be able to grab a muffin if they are not all gone. Almost all the camp activities are cancelled due to COVID (star gazing, alcohol tastings, bird watching, etc). The staff lent us a telescope but were unable to offer us any advice on how to use it. We were unable to operate it.Although an RTIC cooler was provided in our tent, we have to pay for a bag of ice. You get 1 free bag of firewood upon check-in. You have to pay for any additional firewood despite how many nights you stay (we stayed for 2 nights). The Terramor team is clearly understaffed and consists of untrained people. Upon arrival, there was no explanation of operating the tent or a quick synopsis of the grounds. We paid a lot of money for our stay at Terramor but didnt receive much value. I would recommend staying in a lodge/hotel or building your own tent.Im giving 2 stars as the staff was nice enough to move us to a more remote part of the camp when I complained about the initial tent being situated too close to the main road. Either way, this didnt help greatly with the noise.

The luxe tent itself was well worth the price of admission. Having booked this trip in December 2019, we found ourselves arriving for a 7-night stay during what became opening weekend in early August. In the unusual climate of 2020, we found a beautiful respite in the woods of Mount Desert Island! As a party of 2, the Birch tent was delightful! Cozy, super comfortable bed and much larger Interior than what we’d expect at a hotel or inn. The bathroom; just wow - so much nicer than expected for even luxury category glamping! The facilities are stunning - KOA really spared no expense: Frette linens, robes & slippers (Unnecessary but lovely), pour over coffee set up is top notch, and we found the food purchased from the Lodge to be quite good (especially the pizza as some have gripes about). We fully had the option to cancel but are glad we forged ahead!Room for improvement: There wasn’t much of an intro to the resort at check in other than where to park & offer for assistance with baggage. Also, lines built up in the lodge to order food and such because the menus were not readily available (Again, COVID). A daily newsletter or even weekly - digital or print - would alleviate some of that guesswork and offer more insight to the property.Agreed that during summer hours closing the pool at 7 seems unnecessarily early. If one is spending a full day in Acadia and getting dinner off-site, it would have been nice to enjoy the hot tub / pool until 8 or 9pm. We found ourselves sticking around for a swim after breakfast then heading to Acadia when the crowds died down post-lunchtime. The dryness of the grounds didn’t affect our enjoyment of the property - it is a campground, after all. I recommend obtaining supplies to grill. We reserved one of 3 grill sites to cook dinner on 3 nights and found this to be a great option! The area adjacent to the lodge had lovely lawn games and observation decks for when you wanted to get away from your tent. Also a larger, more communal fire pit that looked very inviting for large groups to use. This is a beautiful spot in a great location for exploring all of MDI with spirited staff who are trying their best to adapt to unprecedented conditions and restrictions. I do expect the entirety of the guest experience at Terramor will live up to its gorgeous tents / promises of its advertising (As to restaurant and activities) in the years to come. We’ll be back for sure!

I have to begin by saying that we almost cancelled our stay due to the poor reviews we’d read online. We decided to go on ahead and give Terramor a try since we were actually looking forward to the trip. Thankfully we didn’t cancel. We had a splendid time! That being said, I do feel the need to address some of the negative reviews... in hopes that other people don’t cancel or simply don’t book with terramor due to a few poor reviews. We stayed on the B side of camp. There were no foul smells in the area. Thankfully we were far away from the road so really no noise either. Yes, the tents are “close” but nothing worse than how close camp sites are at actual campgrounds. I guess we got lucky with neighbors, because despite being able to hear people talk if they were loud enough, they actually respected the quiet hours (which the staff reinforces upon your arrival). The area is not terribly large. We received a map upon check-in (I mean... pretty explicit as of where everything is..) and we absolutely felt no need for further explanations. I really don’t understand how people complain about “walking to the tent and getting no help”. You barely have to walk a minute from the parking area to the tent. Asides from that, they have carts readily available for you to transport your luggage if needed. Again, we are talking about “glamping”.The tent is GORGEOUS and pretty self-explanatory. Not sure why you would need a guided tour... the shower is great and you have really hot water which was amazing after a day of hiking. The bed was comfortable and we had multiple blankets at our disposal in case we got cold (we did book the Birch Tent though)The wooded area is nice, and we loved the feeling of being out in nature while having an upscale camping experience. The food situation: grab and go breakfast is really not good (and the discount you get is negligible). We planned for it and brought breakfast snacks. They could probably provide something a bit better that remains grab and go. The food they offer at night is fantastic. We had the burger and the lobster sandwich with brie cheese and apricots. Delicious.I do feel certain things could be improved: for the price, you could get a pack of wood per day if you need it. $10 for wood seems excessive. They could definitely do with towel hangers in the bathroom, and for sure they need to be more cautious on checking that toiletries are available upon check-in (since you can only request refills prior to 11am next day). I was slightly disappointed that I didn’t have a robe on my tent. I didn’t request one either way, but would have loved having one since other tents seemed to get it.Overall, yes. This is “resort” but an “outdoors resort” expect nature, gampling and “rough” conditions (such as cold weather inside the tent). If you want a full on resort experience, you would be better off booking in one of the multiple upscale inns and hotels Bar Harbor has to offer.

The tents and the main lodge are very nice, but it definitely felt like this summer is a “soft” opening. Tents have nice amenities, beds are good, and shower was better than I expected for a tent. Our family of five was comfortable, but there could have been a bit more storage. Marketing on the web site overstates a lot of the realities of the present state, especially in terms of dining. I’ll give them a bit of a break due to COVID, but it was disappointing that things like the landscaping weren’t in better shape. Basic service was lacking — I had to call in daily for towels, toilet paper, and trash bags — but the staff was very responsive to the requests and delivered items promptly. Would have been nice if someone at least explained the lay of the land when we arrived, which would have saved me some frustration in figuring things out. The restaurant was still not fully operational, and the included breakfast options were pretty limited for anyone with dietary restrictions. The pool is small for the number of tent sites they have, but nice. We did not get a chance to experience their “Outfitters” and were told services were limited due to COVID. Again, I’m sure they will figure some of this out for next year when hopefully things are more normal, but I do feel a bit put off that I am paying full price when they are still figuring things out. The one thing they will not be able to fix is the road noise from Rt 102, which is not awful on the weekend but is very loud during the week.

This place has an amazing concept with a good amount of potential, and we were very excited to spend our wedding anniversary and my husbands birthday weekend here. The tents are lovely, but honestly, thats the extent of positivity I can provide.Being a Maine native and frequent camper, I thought this would be a change of pace into something more refined than our normal state park weekends. Our tent was in a cul-de-sac area of the campground (I cant get myself to call this a resort). Our firepit was RIGHT next to our neighbors. It would have been impossible to enjoy this space 4 feet away from strangers who are also trying to enjoy themselves. Thankfully we had friends who were in a different area of the campground, and we used their firepit in the evenings.Speaking of firepits, one bag of wood is included in your stay, but we were not told this upon check-in, so we bought a few bags. Wood isnt normally included at a campground, but as a resort and at the nightly rates they are charging, youd think wood would be included. The shower in our tent was very impressive but did not come stocked with shampoo, conditioner or body wash. I found this out only after already getting soaked. After putting on a robe and calling the front desk 12 times I finally I got ahold of someone, who sounded irritated and told me someone would be right over. I waited on the porch for over an hour, and when someone did show up, he was very friendly but regardless we were late for our evening dinner plans.Speaking of food, when we booked it was explained on the website that breakfast was included with our room rate, but when we arrived we were told that they are unable to provide breakfast. We went into the lodge once other than to check-in and it felt very confusing. We did not eat a thing from Terramor, after realizing the experience was not going to be what we had hoped, we didnt want to spend any more unnecessary money. The beer in our cooler was perfect. When we arrived we were told they upgraded us to a tent with an outdoor shower (in addition to the huge indoor shower). But the outdoor shower doesnt have plumbing, its just an outdoor space, more like a closet with no roof. Later we found out that the fixtures they ordered never arrived. We didnt mind since we werent expecting this feature, but if you did book a tent with an outdoor shower, be warned it doesnt exist currently. The most disturbing was the smell of septic or sewage around our tent. After bringing our concern to the staff, we were told that the septic is no where near our tent, in fact in a completely different area of the campground. Fair enough, but Im guessing there is a leak somewhere in the B tents, and at times the smell is so unpleasant that we had to retreat back into our tent and eventually went over to our friends area (A tents). As other reviews have mentioned, the road noise is noticeable, and the dust from the paths can be annoying. Some of these things can be forgiven seeing as they just opened, but when you pay over $700 for a weekend you expect a level of service that was just not achieved. The website photos and descriptions promise much more than what was delivered, which would be fine if the price tag wasnt so steep. $200 a night would be more accurate for what we got; which was an amazing tent in a dusty field close to others with an unpleasant smell. If it wasnt for the proximity to Acadia and downtown Bar Harbor this place would be a bust for us.We are heading back to the area next weekend but staying in our own tent at a campground for $75.

We spent three nights here in mid-August. It was apparently one of the first few weeks it was open.As others have noted, its plain that opening a facility like this during COVID was difficult, and many of the hiccups can easily be attributed to those challenges. However, as others have also intimated, there are a number of things here that dont live up to the very sleek website, or justify the cost, which is quite high. The property:The lodge is beautiful and a pleasure to spend time in.The recreation area behind the lodge was a small patch of dead turf next to a weedy/dirt patch with a $25 bought-on-Amazon badminton set with broken shuttlecocks and an equally cheap croquet set. That being said, my kids loved playing out there.Theres a short but very pretty boardwalk through the woods that connects The Field to The Lodge. The pool and jacuzzi area is small, and near the road, but very nice. Only ten lounge chairs--not sure how they expect the math on that to work. First time we went, we had to sit on the grass. The tents: beautiful, with clever touches such as portable USB lanterns. Our Birch tent had a shower with high-end amenities and toiletries. All beds were extremely comfortable. Chemex pour over with high end electric kettle. A few oddities: no toilet paper dispensers, just rolls on the toilet lid. Also, the door close mechanism is a bar that scrapes along the floor until being put into place in a small hole when secure. Everyone hated it. Finally, plan on sending loved ones out of the tent if desiring sound privacy whilst on the toilet.Services:Generally atrocious. We were there before they had to cancel breakfast, but this was hardly a difference. One morning the breakfast was a blueberry muffin. People are paying $400 a night for this, mind you. One morning there was an egg scramble. My daughter didnt want this and then noticed other people were being given mixed fruit as an alternative (not listed on the chalkboard). I went up to ask about the fruit, and they were out.One night we were there the lodge offered a childrens menu, but the rest of the time it was all fig pizza and lobster. Expect on eating elsewhere if a family. No towels at pool. Had to shlep up to lodge.Never any fires in the communal fire pits. If you want to enjoy your muffin outside by a fire, for example, youre out of luck. Also, one day, when it was quite hot, they had fires going inside the lodge. On our last morning, when it had cooled off, no fire.Trash bins always overflowing.Often hard to find luggage wagons.Trash on ground is not picked up. Same bits of debris were on playing field for two days. I finally cleaned it up.Landscaping leaves something to be desired.Concerns:As others have noted, the term Resort suggests a more refined/private experience than one can really have here. These are very fancy tents, and we really enjoyed spending time in them, but theyre tents. Youre close to neighbors and if they decide to have a party, plan on staying up until midnight rueing your decision to stay here. Some of the tents are beautifully tucked away deep into woods, some border parking lots. They should charge by location as well as tent type. They need quiet hours! There is no way to lock your tent.Plan on carrying valuables.

Refinement? Meh. Unpaved. More like a dust bowl. The concept of Terramor is enticing. It appeals to travelers like myself who love the outdoors but do not appreciate roughing it. We made our reservation in April and thanks to the marketing efforts of Terramor (owned by KOA, we later discovered) had visions of a secluded, wooded wonderland. In all fairness, we arrived the second week the property was opened. Covid caused a two month delay on their opening date. One could assume this would provide ample time to finish the property and train the staff. Apparently not.The Good.As mentioned, the concept is a great one. The lodge is beautiful. Wine and beer selection is on par with a resort with the room rates. The food was very good. Having all of these things on site was fantastic. The Bad.The website sets this property up for failure. There is no privacy. Our tent was on the edge of the “field.” The set up was similar to summer camp. And the field was an overgrown piece of land with weeds so dead one runs the risk of cutting their legs and feet. If you do not need a bandaid after making it across, god forbid a stray ash from one of the fire pits finds its way on the “field.” It would go up in flames in under a minute. Also, the grounds are a dust bowl. Would not have surprised me to see a tumbleweed blowing across the front porch. Also the noise levels were more than expected. If you are into a city feel under the stars, this is your place. The noise from the busy road is loud—we used a white noise app.The most disappointing factor was the service. The staff acted as though our mere existence was an annoyance. No explanation of the property, any request for a towel or trash bag was met with a shrug and the restaurant is all counter service. Fine. But difficult to understand the room rates and lack of service. The most attention one will receive is being asked to leave the pool. It closes at 7. I don’t know why. There’s no lifeguard on duty. The sun is still out. But at 7:07 a staff member appears out of nowhere to give you the boot. However you cannot find a staff member to get pool towels. Even upon check out, there is no one asking about your stay. So, that’s why I’m leaving this review. If you are used to a campground, this place will seem good. If you expect a resort with a tent, save yourself the frustration and your money. The location is off a busy road, 20 min from downtown Bar Harbor. I’ve received friendlier service from Walmart.
