Very talented, funny group.

We have gone 3 times on our last 2 visits to Bar Harbor and had a great, great time. The show at 8 is family friendly while the 10 is targeted to adults. Both are great. Extremely talented cast members. The theater is quite small and intimate. Drinks and appetizers are available. This is a must do evening activity.

Super funny. The comedians are sharp, quick witted talented people. They take the cues from the audience and put together skits and songs. They left my family in stitch and super impressed. The have great drinks and a cozy atmosphere. They try very hard to please everyone. I would go again.

AMAZING actresses, lovely atmosphere and hilarious performances. The women in this especially were extremely impressive! Very expressive, and two of them had to be classically trained in singing because their voices were clear and confident during their musical sections. Great for lazy/boring weeknights and vacations, and will be coming back during my summer vacations in the future. Heartily recommended!

This place is an absolute must for anybody visiting Bar Harbor.The cast was fantastic and apparently rotates great talent from Chicago, which is very well known for its Improv stars!The venue is very intimate, but comfortable. Service is great and food/drink prices are very reasonable.The two hour show was a great way to spend an evening on our honeymoon, and this place has already joined our list of things to do on our next visit!Thanks for the great memories guys, see you next time!

If you dont see them at least once while you are in Bar Harbor you are missing out on a memorable night that you wont forget with the those with you. Improv is obviously never the same one night to another but ImprovAcadia makes it even more unique each night with the audience input they take for some of their skits and bits and especially their tailored retelling of the romance story of two of the audience members attending (with them volunteering of course). The cast changes quite frequently as well so you might be lucky enough to catch two completely different casts during your stay, and if you are lucky enough to have this opportunity I implore you to take it.

Great staff. We are conservative and the family friendly show was great! The improv professionals did a great job. Small crew that really work as team & family! Snack food was good. Drinks were worth the amount we paid. When the waiter made a mistake in our favor, we brought it to his attention & he was appreciative. We stayed behind and chatted with 1 of the comedians and she was personable & did not rush is out, even though the next group of patrons wanted to come in and start seating. Class act.

The best live improve I’ve ever seen. I stayed in Acadia for a few months and went at least 5 times and wish I could go 5 more times. Can’t speak highly enough of this experience.

Make time to visit the Acadia Improv! The actors were so talented and we laughed for 2 straight hours. We brought our 15-year-old and it was a family friendly show. We will be back!

We just happened to come across an advertisement for ImprovAcadia while staying in Bar Harbor for our honeymoon. Looking for some fun entertainment, we decided to try it one evening and were not disappointed. We enjoyed an evening of humor and never ending laughter. We still talk about some of the skits to this day. If you’re looking for some laughter and fun, try out ImprovAcadia. We are SO glad that we did!

Its impossible to sum up the excellence of this place. The show is different Everytime (obvious considering its improv but the cast changes throughout the season as well).Too notch improvisors, kicking desserts, great signature cocktails, and the most amazing owners (who are also in the cast!). Dont go once, go as often as you can!

Four person cast in a small venue had us laughing heartily. Quick and witty, its Whose line is it anyway? on a small scale. Lots of fun.

Very funny! Its improv and they are Good! The cast was spot on with their renditions of people, occupations and situations. They worked very well off the audience and each other. My best friend volunteered to be on stage and they pegged him and his wife as if they had known them their whole lives. Go and enjoy a great fun evening.

Incredible place to see Improv. Friendly staff. Great beverages. Lots of laughs. Was called on stage for a bit and the comedians all improved using material I created. I would recommend this club to anyone in the area. All the actors come out of the famous Second City in Chicago. This place is a gem in Bar Harbor.

The show was fantastic! Very funny! Our family of nine went to the 8:00 show and it was appropriate for all ages. I highly recommend seeing this show.

Yes, this is a must-do. Our profound thanks to Lawrence, Jen and the crew. We stayed for both the 8pm and 10pm shows. We have not laughed so hard in years. Because of of audience input, every show is differentLocals will say the late show is more adult, but I detected only 6 swear words. I think it is more accurate to say the early show is purposely family friendly, while the late show is as adult as the audience allows.

This is a fantastic show, one that you should definitely stop in for if youre in the area. Its an hour of excellent comedy, and I highly recommend it. Try a craft cocktail, a decadent dessert, and sit back and enjoy the show.

Awesome show. Not juvenile like some other shows Ive seen. Very skilled actors and they improved to improved music much adds another element of inspiration. Highly recommend.

We had a blast! This was our first visit to an improv show and we loved it. It was a nicer change of pace too unwind after a day of traveling. We only had drinks, no food. Atmosphere was ok, staff was great.

This was so fun for me, my parents, and my aunt. Their humor was family friendly, but for me as a teen I still had a blast! This was the best improv group that I have ever seen.

I was really pleasantly surprised to see an improv group in Bar Harbor. My family (which included a 15 year boy and a 13 year old girl) and I went to the early show, which is billed as family friendly. To be honest, I wasnt worried about that but it was good to know that the show wouldnt go really blue. The performance was excellent - really really funny - and the cast really seemed to enjoy what they were doing. I was really tempted to take the family back for a second show later in the week.My son is not a fan of any type of live performance (my daughter loves it all) and the cast had him laughing out loud. He really had a great time and winning him over is a testament to how good the cast is.Theres not a tremendous amount of things to do in Bar Harbor at night - outside of dinner and going to see a movie - Improv Acadia is a must see when youre in Bar Harbor. The theater is small (second floor, over a diner) so theres no such thing as a bad seat and the service is really good and the staff are very friendly. You can say hello to the cast after the show and they were very engaging.Highly recommend this. They only serve light snacks, youre not going to have dinner there

I found the staff to be incredibly rude. We were told where to sit and when asked if we could have more room we were told no. An elderly couple was placed behind us and cramped- they were also uncomfortable and requested a different spot and were told there is nothing else that could be done and to sit down. We were placed near a door with much traffic and the waitstaff continually bumped into my daughter. They kept telling her to be careful and there was not a spot to move to where she wouldnt be in the way. She asked them where she could move to where she would t be bumped and was told theres no place else to sit and shed need to just deal with it. We come to Bar Harbor often but will never come back here.

She leads a mostly talented troupe of improve artists who rotate in and out of town as their schedules permit. Larrance Fingerhut is the talented man at the keyboard.Decent drinks. Decent snacks.Early show is for all; late shows are for adults.Highly recommended.

Very friendly and lots of laughs!

HILARIOUS! I LOVED this improv joint! I love how small and intimate it felt. We ordered a bunch of food prior to, all was pretty good. Nothing spectacular (think bar food), but the service was great. The improv actors were hysterical, and we loved being a part of the show! I wish we would have gone more than just one night, I guarantee it would be a hit over and over again!

If youve never seen an improv show before, this is a good one. I was really impressed by a musical the players wrote on the fly.

Awesome! I didnt want to go, had low expectations of improv based on tv shows. But wow. Gained a huge appreciation of how talented these performers are to come up with such funny stuff with little time to even think, let alone articulate what comes to mind. I was laughing so hard, my face hurt. Wait staff was excellent, suggested cocktails were tasty, atmosphere and crowd was fun. You gotta go!

This place was a nice little gem i found, completely by mistake. If your in town for sure stop this place! Its true imporov.

My cheeks hurt everytime

I went to improv Acadia last year and loved it, so when I returned with family this year I was so excited to take them. Unfortunately I was completely disappointed.From the moment we arrived at the staff was rude, unattentive, and demeaning. When we went to pay for the show the host snapped at my sister because her credit card had a crack in it. She told him that she uses it all the time and that it still works but he got upset and started bending her card, almost breaking it in half. She asked him politely not to do that and he finish the transaction but acted completely exasperated and frustrated.Next we host was very rude about the seating arrangement. He was rushed and did not listen to what we were asking. The host placed us at a table shared with another couple that had barely any room to sit. My mom was sitting where she could not see the stage and my sister was sitting in the middle of the walking space. Every time the waiter walked by, which was about every minute, my sister was bumped by him in the shoulder and leg. The host came over and told my sister that she needed to be careful because it was getting dark and she could be in somebodys way, yet he is the one that placed her in the seat. She asked where she could move to be in a better location and he told her nowhere that she should just stay small and stay out of the way.Then, during intermission we stood up right in front of our table which was near the door. We were told that we needed to sit down because that was a hazard. We literally had nowhere to move and could not see well at all from our seat.An elderly couple was placed at our table and were so scrunched that they were visibly uncomfortable. They were not offered a more comfortable seat and clearly had a hard time enjoying the show due to the seating arrangement.The show itself was funny and the actors seemed wonderful, we were amazed that for a show with a great performance and what seems like a lovely owner, we could receive such terrible service from the staff on the floor. We go to Bar Harbor every year and were really looking forward to attending the improv for years to come, but after this experience that definitely wont be happening. No matter how wonderful a performance, the service and respect of the staff is my number one concern. I will not be attending Improv Acadia again. I am very disappointed that we spent all that money on such a frustrating evening.
