Before driving two hours out of your way to this course, if you call in advance and ask if you will be able to get on and play 18, beware in that they may tell you yes it’s wide-open only to get there and find a high school team preventing that.ZERO effort to remedy the situation either. I offered to go off on 10 and was told “we don’t do that here“. So I was stuck paying for an overpriced nine holes while sitting behind foursomes on a “wide open” golf course or eating a 2 Hour Drive and gas and learning a lesson about this place.

Kebo Valley Golf Club, located on Mt Desert Island in Maine, is home to the oldest golf club in Maine, and eighth oldest in the United States. This well-rated tree-lined and open parkland layout should not disappoint, with many attractive features and several excellent holes to enjoy. Plenty of golfing challenge, a well-crafted design and usually good upkeep all contribute to the appeal of this course. One to include on your play list if you are in the area.

My husband and I played this course based on the reviews I read. Everyone must see something different than we did.To begin with it is very pricey. We have played courses for the same amount that put this one to shame. We found that if you did not know the course, there were a few holes that should have been marked better. The fairways were very dry and one tee box did not have any markers. We guessed!!Distances were also not marked from the tee box to the water, etc. Based on the price of this course, it needs a lot of improvement to make it the best in my book. Also if we had known it was mostly cart path only we would have never made the tee times. We will never play there again, which is sad, as it could be a great course.

This course is as challenging as it is beautiful! The greens are the best Ive played in all of Maine. The Links Pub has a wonderful variety on the menu and prices are very affordable, especially when you see the generous portions. The food was well presented and fresh! My daughters chicken tenders were so good that my husband and I both enjoyed a few bites. He had a Turkey avocado panini and I had the Southwest salad. Again, no frozen food - the turkey breast was freshly roasted and my chicken was right off the grill. The service was friendly and attentive, and the view from the deck amazing. One very important feature here is that it was super easy to find and plenty of parking!! This course and restaurant are both fantastic! Both are also open to the public. The history and legendary 17th hole might be what lures you here, but the challenge of those greens and the fantastic 19th hole is what will keep you coming back!!

78.00 for 9 holes is a bit extreme. The course was nice and in good shape but we are not in pebble beach. Would of loved to play more than one day but not for that price.

A little pricey, but we got the two-for-one on Saturday. A very challenging course and it lends itself to not lose too many balls. I dont understand why they dont reduce the price to attract more golfers. I guess that is a business decision.

Its a nice layout and the courses history alone make it interesting. Pro shop and staff are friendly. It seems a little over priced considering the course itself, but its location puts greens fees at a premium.
