We loved walking around the lake. Its such a peaceful area. Theres tons of picnic tables and charcoal grills all around the lake with well manicured trails. The bathrooms are more like permanent porta potties. The flies were so bad in them that no one in my family dared go in. A tree fell on the bridge that crosses over the back side of the lake, so if the lake is higher I dont think you could safely walk all the way around.

Great place, small and cozy. Lots of areas to sit and relax. Grills are available, you just need to bring your charcoal. Beautiful walk with my wife and dog. Pet friendly, but they must be kept on a leash. Bathrooms available but not flushies, no place to wash hands either

We had a great time! The weather was perfect and we had a nice picnic area next to the lake. There were plenty of birds, lizards, squirrels, and even a rattlesnake. Stay on the trails and keep your eyes and ears open for snakes but have a great time!!

Its a nice small lake, path goes around it is a little beat up. Giant tree fell and looks like it damaged one of the wooden viewing spots. Overall a nice easy day still of maybe a mile around it, or a spot for lunch. Dont forget to pack out your trash.

I really love this place. The bridge at the back of the lake was broken by a fallen tree so you cant walk a lap around the lake right now unless you climb up and walk along the tree. Its possible for some people, but I didnt want to attempt it pregnant. My grandma and one of my cousins did tho. They said it was pretty easy. You can still walk a u around the lake. Its very pretty and relaxing. Theres not a lot of trails, but worth a quick stop if driving up or down the hill. You could also spend some time fishing and/or have a picnic at one of the many tables. Theres even restrooms here too

This place is beautiful, fishing is ok we caught like 6 bluegill (garlic worms) and one Bass (baby ). People were friendly. Bathrooms were the worst part(real dirty) but it is to be expected out here. If they had them clean it would be 5 stars

Peaceful and a wonderful family experience. Do not forget to stop and get your day pass from the rangers station. Your pass purchase allows you to park any where for public use AND supports our local forests conservation. Its so reasonable, look into the annual pass!

Photos dont do this place justice. Its a beautiful spot for a short walk in nature. There was a fair bit of trash around, but thats not the lakes fault. People are irresponsible and dirty, so I cleaned up a little bit of it the first time I came here. I was able to fill half a 12 gallon bag with trash that people had just carelessly left around, (un)fortunately. The view is beautiful. There are a ton of spots for fishing, relaxing, picknicking, photography. I saw a few dogs playing in the water. Lots of decent sized fish swimming around, and a few ducks here and there.Be warned: definitely mosquitos, especially at night. Anywhere near the water is a breeding ground for them basically. Bathrooms are a bit dirty, people have a weird obsession with leaving their bodily fluids around toilets rather than in them. Once again, not the lakes fault, just human nature I guess. There is a downed tree that blocks a bridge that you were supposed to cross in order to get to the other side, from either direction. Its easier if you start on the right side of the lake (facing the mountains/from the parking lot) than on the other side, since youll have to do a bit of climbing on the left side. Those with disabilities might struggle with this, but there are still plenty of places to enjoy along the path for those wheelchair bound or handicapped. The fallen tree is actually a nice addition, in my opinion. Nature: 1, Mankind: 0, lol.Youll need a forest adventure pass to check this place out (5$ daily, 30$ annually.) totally worth it, since you can use it for several places around the state of California, and unlimited times. I bought the annual pass and have already used it 6 times (which means I definitely got my moneys worth and its been one month.)Check it out!

Good lake for some fishing. You will need a parking pass you can get it at the gas station for $5.Besides the fishing, this lake has a nice trail to walk. Only thing is a huge tree recently fell and limited access to the back side of the lake so you will have to go to the other end of the lake and walk around of you want to see it all.

Beautiful place for a day trip picnic. You will need a Wilderness day pass.I think it is $5.00. You will need the pass to park at the lake and they definately will give you a fine( ticket) if you park there without a pass. There is no other place to park. You can get a pass at several places but the Big 5 Sporting Goods store is usually convenient for this.

Plenty of secluded BBQ areas for a nice day off cooking and hanging. More the size of a pond but nice trail setup and beautiful lake. Need to purchase adventure pass in Idyllwild for parking across the street, $5 for the day pass. Stocked with bass a blue gill. Kept clean with plenty of areas to venture right near the lake for fishing or rock skipping. Nice for a family with kids to spend a day together.

Lovely little park area surrounding the lake. We walked the loop around the lake with 3 small kids and they did just fine. There were people fishing and picnicking in the designated areas. Minus 1 star for the litter I saw in many places but then again the parks department is doing its best with limited resources due to shrinking budgets. The minus 1 star should really be for the fools who litter and dont clean up after themselves at an otherwise peaceful and beautiful place.

I would say I loved it. But the parking situation makes it a little unsafe for us as a family. One of the adults always grabs the vehicle to load up or drop off so we dont have our little ones possibly ran over by the passing cars. Also the restrooms would be best if they got some indoor plumbing..lol.This is a great picnic and fishing spot and its usually not crowded. Very peaceful.Just wish the parking situation was safer and the restrooms were modernized.

The good thing about this park is its right off the road and the small pond of a lake has nice walking path around it. It appeared to be set up nicely for picnics. Besides not seeing anyone with any luck pulling in a fish the 2 seperate times there, I only rate this 2 stars because the restrooms were extremely disgusting. Some of the worst weve encountered in our extensive travels and camping. The area wasnt even busy so there is no excuse unfortunately.
