The Hippodrome theatre is an iconic landmark in the city and home to thousands of shows each year! Growing up my parents took us to see numerous shows and it was always spectacular. Over the past few years I have found myself gravitating my way back to the theatre. This year one of my favorites was taking my 2.5 year old to see Paw Patrol and my Mom to see Wicked! I highly recommend!!!

We really enjoyed wicked. The theater is nice on the inside. Two complaints: 1. Not a great location for the theater. 2. This is the least amount of sitting room I have EVER had at a venue (I’m only 5’8” and my knees hit the seat in front of me and I had no room at all to move my feet. It was very uncomfortable and I feel sorry for anyone any taller than me!). Otherwise, the staff was great, the decor is nice and the show was great fun. All seats in the house are good views I think:)

This place is intimate. I cant show photos of the set. That is prohibited for obvious reasons. However, there is not a bad seat in this house. My wife and I have seen several shows here. The staff are wonderful people. We just discovered a very close by Afghanistan cuisine place on the last visit. It kept us from experiencing the delay leaving the parking garage. The place is called Maiwand Grill and its very delicious food. Go eat somewhere after the show. Trust me, your time will be much better spent!

Had a great experience. Everyone was very polite and helpful and appeared to be enjoying themselves. We had really good seats and enjoyed the show. The bathrooms were clean and the staff accounted for extra women by opening another restroom. I love that such a great place exists in my home town. Cant wait to go back.

We went to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Parking was close and convenient and reasonable in price. The Hippodrome is elegant and historic. We we pretty close but it looked like you would have a great view from anywhere in the theater. The people working were friendly and helpful. The play was amazing. It was so exciting and full of energy. The cast was amazing. They put on such a wonderful show. We were there for the Sunday matinee that the understudy went on for Willy Wonka and he was fantastic! I cant even imagine someone else in the role. He was entertaining and charismatic! The whole cast were fantastic!

Went and saw wicked here and it was amazing. The parking garage has elevators into the theater so you dont have to worry about walkimg on the street and looking for the entrance. Though i had pretty good seats peoples heads were still in the way for a lot of the show. I am short so i kind of have this issue everywhere i go. However i do wish the seats were more cascaded like most places are for shows. Overall, wonderful experience!

We went to see the production of Wicked last night. The show was amazing and very enjoyable. The theater itself was clean and beautiful. Seating was difficult though. My husband is over 6 ft and he had to keep his knees up the entire time so that he wouldn’t hit the person in front of him. I’m 5’5” and I barely had room to move.

The theatre is great. Ive been to many plays but this was my first at the Hippodrome. The seating was comfortable and leg room was a whole lot better than other venues. We were located in the first row of the 303 section and visibility was good. The only drawback was the skinny (additional) metal bar that was on top of the of the railing in front of us. You had to sit up straight to see the whole stage. Shorter people like my sister found it hard to look above it. Other than that. It was good. Enough bathrooms and areas outside of the theatre to hang around. I will leave a separate review for the cafe in the building. It was horrendous.

Im a season subscriber and really enjoy the shows it includes as well as the added benefits. The staff and the ushers are always very friendly. The decor and layout are beautiful and its always kept very clean. The seats arent always great though. Limited view really means that just as a heads up to anyone looking at those cheaper seats. The first few rows I would also consider limited view as I couldnt see anything from the waist down when I sat that close. And at 52, Ive discovered that balcony seats are best for my view. Down in orchestra, I usually cant see much if someone tall sits in front of me. They have a parking garage attached to the theatre so you dont even have to walk outside to enter which is very convenient.

Love this theater. You can park in the adjoining garage and do not have to worry about walking the street. Its not a very nice neighborhood so it is great the garage is right there and can give you some peace of mind. The theater itself is historic and just stunning. This is a beautiful historic theater located in downtown Baltimore. I am a season ticket holder and I am always so excited to go see a musical or a play there. I find the place always so pleasant to attend, the employees (who are mainly volunteers) from what I understand are always very helpful. The sound system is great and if the show requires live orchestra is even more phenomenal. I would highly recommend this place! (Photos were taken before the show)

Really nice place. Parking garage on the same block has an elevator that goes directly to the theater, $12. I picked up my tickets at roll call which was on the 2nd floor coming out the elevator. Bathrooms were really clean. Not too many options for drinks and food. They ran out of popcorn before intermission. We were in section way up but view was still good but extremely limited on leg room. Steep stairs may be problem for some

As much as an event cost there. You would think they would make it more comfortable. If I am paying over two hundred dollars to see something that is three to four hours long. I would like to be comfortable not feel like I am a can of sardines. No leg room or elbow room at all.

Our seats were good with nothing obscuring any part of the stage. However, the seats are tiny and I was not always comfortable. This was myfirst ballet and I was impressed. Great venue. Saw Wicked there on the lower level. Plenty of bars for the intermission, and good sound for the show. The neighborhood could use some more nightlife, though. Its odd to have one of the premier theatres in your city be surrounded by dark windows, empty buildings, boarded up shops, etc. There is some nightlife, but less than you would expect.

I will want to come back here. Buy your tickets on-line, and have them on hold at the box office, to be picked up the day of the show. There is no charge for this service. You will save a lot in fees. Great sound quality. We even got to meet some of the actors and actress. First time there, and I will definitely come back again. You can also park across the street, and pay for it in advance. Very reasonable prices.

The shows are fantastic - Broadway caliber performances at a fraction of the price. I sat up in the balcony (cheaper seats) and could see everything perfectly. The place is architecturally beautiful inside. They have the added bonus of having an attached parking garage - the elevator from the garage opens up directly into the building. There is a bar open with decently priced drinks and snacks. The only issue I encountered was that the seats are very narrow. It is an older theater, and following the trend of the time the seats were made smaller than modern society is used to. The woman next to me was very uncomfortable and did not return after intermission. My husband is very tall and was not completely comfortable either. The three of us sat thigh-to-thigh for the first half of the performance. Something to consider.

The experience from parking in its garage to my seat was excellent. The staff was informative and welcoming. The production quality on stage was top notch (Broadway where?). The only reason I left out a star is due to its cramp seating. I am 510 and had virtually no leg room. I dont recommend the Hippodrome to those who suffer from knee issues unless you can purchase seating on the floating balconies (sides, elevated), front row in every section that faces a walk way. Other than the leg room issues this place is a must to visit to experience Broadway plays in Baltimore City.

Parking garage attached to theatre made it simple to park and enter the facility without worrying about the elements. Staff was courteous and went out of their way to assist. Long leg people should try to get an end seat. Theatre seats are the same position as when they were originally installed. Get out early on intermission if you want concessions. The lines can get a little long. Make sure you scope them out first so you know which stand is selling alcohol and which is not. Beautiful facility.

My daughter and I saw Aladdin and it was fantastic. My 4 year old was quiet for 2 hours!! The customer service at the hippodrome was also great.
